Nice pics, just to let everyone know, even though you see the hotspot for each led when on, the light actual fills out the lens nicely.

IDK, I think thats almost exactly what they look like on a bright sunny day. Cloudy, overcast, or twilight, then yes I agree.

I get that a lot...though mainly because of my Type-S chrome rims.

Thumbs down

Hi all. I am so pissed, i tried installing those DRL's i can not belive how one is suppose to change DRL bulb incease if its burnt. it is so damn hard no place to access that bulb. passenger side , i think i can do it in like 2 to 3 hours but driver side there is battery, so i have to take battery out and i dont know whatelse. i think its just tooooo much for changing those 2 damn bulbs. PLUS there is screw which is keeping bulbs in tight, and i could not align screwdriver on top of that screw, plus no room for hands too , my hands are thinn but still i have red marks from even trying to change those bulbs all over them. I think my car is so new with like 900 miles that i dont wanna go thru all this. so , should i return those bulbs to V leds or someone here is intrested to buy em.
I think i wanna sell em for 40 bucks shipped. they are unopned still in the packing. let me know if someone wants em.
so much for that lil mod. ugh

Are you serious, man? Took me 15 minutes tops!! More like 10 actually.

I'm not doubting your ability, but it was REALLY easy. Some have had trouble twisting the bulb, but not THAT much trouble.

I wouldn't remove/loosen ANY screws. Unplug, turn, remove. That simple.

Damn, Tee Ell, really sorry to hear it... I'm positive someone will take those off your hands; but are you really sure you don't want to give it another try?

If you're anywhere near me, we could meet up and give it another shot...

For some the bulbs turned like butter, but for me I've used every curse word I know, I smoked a stoggie, got pissed, and then everything came off beautifully, lol

I recommend unplugging the connector for more room, and turn the bulb counterclockwise. On the 08 my bulbs where in very tight.

GUYSSSSS... thank you sooo so much. Yeah i have 08 and yes they were in tight, so tight that one ends up thinking that screw needs to be loosen, but no.
I also used curse words and decided to twist them even if they break. so there they were put in so tight. basically it only took me less than 10 mins. hahahhha i am so happy and thanks again. here are the pics. they look so cool.
Pics taken by Nokia N73.
Before.

and afterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

thanks again guys. have a Great weekend.

so i take it the new DRL LEDs now work fine? i know the previous ones would only work when one unit is plugged in, and both go out if both are plugged.

Sweet! Persistence pays off.

They weren't in there lightly...I just turned like hell from the beginning...turning the correct direction the first time. I was prepared for the worst.

Okay...I'm BS'n. I had already put in a different set of halogens last year in an attempt to change the color only to discover they are low-power, so I knew exactly what I was doing this time.

Practice makes perfect.

so I just took a look to see if I could do this real quick...I don't even see the bulbs. the one I do see I think is the main lights, not the DRLs....

do I just need to take off the 2 side engine covers, or more than that to get to them?

I noticed that, too, but only because I was literally staring at the bumper in front of me (parked, waiting for the train). It happens so fast that it's the only time you'd really notice it. I doubt anyone would notice while the car was actually moving, and therefore, it's no big deal to me. I'm just happy to finally be rid of the hideous yellow DRLs.

Yes I have seen the flickering too. I noticed it when I was pulling the car into the garage and saw it flicker on the wall. I doubt it would be noticible unless you were looking for it in the headlights or saw it up against a wall. But still 10x's better than the OEM bulbs

OK good, i am not the only one then, so this means those LED's are like that, and there is not going to be issues with bulbs or connector and wires being hot or burnt. I am actually gonna touch the connectors and wires after 10 mins of driving to feel if they getting any hot in case.

^^^ Ok, do that and let us know.... These DRLs have the same draw as stock. I think the flickering part is the angle of light refraction in the lense....when I installed them first, I thought one was bluer than the other...it's the LED playing tricks on us.

^^^ coming back home i drove car for 25 mins and i touched the wires they were warm a lil bit , but that could also be engine heat under the hood. other than that they still flicker. Now let me explain, they flicker like one would get brighter all of sudden for a min sec and than go dimm and other one do the same and sometimes it keeps happening. oh well, for that kinda kool looking lights i guess its okay.

It definitely flickers when the turn signal is on.
But I still rather have these than the stock halogens.

I just noticed it this morning, it's like the turn signal is drawing away power from the LED everytime it goes on.

Thanks guys for all the great info just purchase an 08 TLS so im new to the forum but not mods. Changed the drl’s and yes the driver side was a serious pita, tried smoking a stogie, drank a beer still couldn’t get that thing to budge. Finally just removed the battery for better leverage and it came rite out. I did notice the flickering while at the gas station but it looks way better than the pee yellow stocks.

Update: On my way to work the DRL were off the whole way but when i pull up at work they turn on for like 2 mins while i was lookin at them the one on the passenger side flicker a bit them a few seconds later both of them dimmed to about 30% of light output compared to 100% then right after both turned off but i noticed something really stranger the passenger side bulb was still on but it was dimmed to about 10% of light output which looks horrible at night All these was with the car ON. Weird thing is the DRL warning light has not pop up anymore....
Now when i got home n I turned my headlights OFF the damn LEDS turned on without any problem I dont get it...whats going with these lights

So ummm one was working and the other was not? Aren't they wired in series? Maybe all this flickering people are experiencing would be remedied with some sort of voltage regulator.

Ok well now after seeing others with problems I am very skeptical to actually move forward with this swap. I am going to wait a bit longer and if people continue to have problems...well, I guess I'll sell them.

I absolutely have no problem with the V-LED bulbs...they work fine...dim in the day time, visible in later-afternoon/evening... everything as it should be.

Make sure the connection is not loose. Make sure the v-led bulb does not bounce around and is sitting in tight. See if V-LED will be willing to replace the bulbs for a new pair.

The DRsL go on when the HIDs are off or when you manually force them go on with the parking lights.

So far I don't have any of these symptoms, but this weekend the DRL would not come on. I quickly realized that I had the parking brake on.
