Removing interior panel...?

I mounted my radar detector at the top of my windsheild, to hide the wire better I wanna take off the panel thats on the left side of the windsheild, it has the little square on it that says something about the airbag, I think its called the A-Pillar? Does anyone know how I can take it off....

Have you checked the garage for service manual scans?

Regards the Square. That is to inform you that there is an airbag in that area. It also acts as one of the clips for the pillar. Use a small screw driver to get under that tab. Once it's out a little bit, give it a steady pull. It need to come out about 3/4 inch or so to unclip - if it comes all the way out, thats OK too.

From there, oyu probably just gently work the edges of the pillar loose, but I don't know exactly where all the clips are.

Oh. Just use a credit card or something like that (thin, not sharp) and wedge the cord in a little at a time as you go along.

It won't bother the airbag any; it's done all the time with stereo, radar detector, GPS, etc installs.

There's one more clip about 2/3 down the pillar. It will come out with gentle pulling. The pillar is very easy to remove and replace.

Why not hardwire the detector from the overhead console wiring using the invisicord?
