I hear what you're saying though. I think all of us are more or less in the same boat. I will respond if I see a good question, but sometimes I can't help but just shake my head at what people ask. Them not searching also really annoys me. Man, the search button has been my saving grace over the last two months of working on the TL. All it takes is 2 minutes of searching.

I used to be an asshole to those types of members. These days I just leave the thread

never posts or shares or helps...pops into something like the ramblings thread for attention, you go help, then they post okay figured it out, i fixed it...and never see them again.
I mean, there's no such thing as an altruistic act, right? Because I helped and had an expectation of courtesy but over time...I'm getting to be the type to ignore those posts and members.

Most people sign up because they have 1 issue with their car and are never seen/heard from again. Most of the time I read their questions with this look of my face like, WTF are you thinking? or You should probably sell the car and get a bus pass... It is amazing how incompetent people are but yet want to do a timing belt change. Even myself being quite mechanical I will shell out the clams to have the job done.

I was actually going to try opening my door and then maneuver another car into position to see if it's possible. But then I realized that I'm not a total assclown moron and that it isn't possible.

I spent the rest of the weekend basically patting myself on the back and remarking at how clever I am for not doing un-necessary un-necessary work.
