unmolested s2k you say.. I'm sure it holds emotional scars on the inside.
Damn..
You guys will find the right project!

Dad and I found a 69 C-10 about 45 miles or so away. Asking $5500 body was straight, needed paint, motor was strong until we put a new one in. Was making some room in the garage because we THOUGHT we were going to get it. Listing was removed from CL. So I texted guy asking what was up, he decided to keep it and work on it.

I've found 2 S2k's under 17k. Well pretty much one is right at 17k.
Down in Fullerton, CA though, Johnny I'll kill you.....
Anyway, 80k miles, looks like it hasn't been modded. Silverstone..
Then there is a RYP (I can be buddies with J) 5 dollars cheaper 81k miles

I labeled mine with a Brother P-Touch (TWSS!) and it gets the job done (TWSS!) but your blue box looks too good to ruin with cheap stickers (TWSS?).
Any thoughts to getting some old-tymer to do some pinstripe labeling for you? Unless that's a skillset you also possess...
I think that would look slick as hell, having it all labeled out in black/red or something.
Or do you just roll braille style and rely on memory of where things are?

What did you eat after Franklin's? Or just too much meat for you?
I usually make people gag when I shove my meat down their throat (get it where you fit it amirite?).
Hope you feel better, rape you next time. Still can't believe this ninja didn't want to shoot guns going 140 mph in the V while drinking fine craft beer after big meat.
Now I know you have a vagina

So J, how anal are you about your toolbox? (TWSS!) Like, do you label the drawers? (TWSS!)

I bought a pie from Franklins. Bourbon Banana pie, it was sitting in the car/trunk after we left franklins and toured the state capital and the "Chinatown" center ( )
Maybe that did me in, or maybe too much meat
Had dinner here, but wasn't feeling well before and definitely did not feel well after.
Pretty decent ramen.

Aww, you sound disappointed
It would look good.
Besides, organization is next to godliness. A place for everything and everything in it's place. Wash your hands eight times, flick the lightswitch twice and wash them another eight times. Or else bad things will happen.

Tatsuya.. fuck yeah it's good. I always get extra ajitama egg.. OMG SO GOOD!
Their miso ramen is bomb too, but definitely Tonkatsu for the first go.
Shiett Miz.. sounds like you had a pretty successful visit. There's still like 100 more places I'd recommend but you hit some pretty solid joints in terms of food. Next time, bachelor party visit... tittays, booze, guns, moar BBQ... yissss!
I've never eaten dessert at Franklins, but that sounds awesome. Dude.. you went to "Chinatown"

Wow. So I saw that bowl of ramen and started drooling. Did a quick googley of "Ramen Austin" and looked up some reviews. Looking at the pictures from Ramen Tatsu-Ya, and it *actually* looked fairly close to the pic Miz posted.
Obviously they don't plate (bowl?) every serving exactly like the press photos, but that is impressively close.
I think I might need to go for a bowl this week now.
EDIT: I know, cools story bro, right?

Here's a cool story for you.. I've eaten Ramen in every locale I've been.. across teh Pacific Rim (yiss Japan) and even along the Atlantic (incl NYC). Tatsuya is top in many marks. I've never eaten ramen this good stateside. On Oahu, there are two legit spots, which I love.. both fail in comparison. NYC.. not even close. It's a special gem. I was so fucking skeptical when they opened.. long lines.. dumb reviews that were like.. this isn't the $0.99 I usually eat.
All skepticism was lost after the tasting the broth. Tatsuya is legit.. it would be successful even on the motherland. I've eaten at Ramen joints where the Tonkatsu / Chashu was so buttery good that you'd want it for your last meal.. and the broth so delicious that you instantly felt like you were being bundled in a hand sewn sweater from your grandmother while eating one of her warm homemade cookies (read chowdah).
Tatsuya almost hits those marks, but it does everything so harmoniously, you can't find anything at fault. The ajitama egg is perfect in my book, everything else a solid 9 / 9.5 depending on the night (quality is pretty consistent, but the new store broth is a little creamier, original location is the best). Anyways.. if you go, get an order of yodas too.

Hmmm. Now that is someplace I would actually go out of the way to visit then when in Austin.
I never had anything except po-boy special 3/$1 "ramens" until this joint called Jinya opened up fairly locally. Supposedly a smallish chain, with locations in CA. Having nothing to compare it to, I find it to be very tasty. But with a 1/1 sample set, I definitely would like to try some other places when the opportunity arises.
I'll mentally bookmark Tatsu-ya.
EDIT: Thanks for the second time today, Maj, for the food schooling.

Ya the broth, chashu and egg were definitely on point. VERY good.
The noodles thou. IMO left something more to be desired.
They didn't use the traditional kind of noodles you get at ramen places. That and they looked and tasted like prepackaged type noodles. If they could have a good hand made noodle, IMO it would definitely bring their ramen to a whole new level.

Speaking of ramen, just had some yesterday...the local naginata/kendo club had a fundraiser...they made their own noodles and broth from pork bone. Outstanding.

Jeeezzzzz Maj... Drivel on much about that top ramen place....

Just kidding its bookmarked

The broth is definitely highly important for me as well... Umami for days... I'm a fan of the in-house made noodles as well but I'll give this place a shot. CA MOSTLY has home made noodles, this place better not be over hyped over rated like this place in NorCal..http://www.yelp.com/biz/orenchi-ramen-santa-clara?utm_source=ishare

I was not impressed with Orenchi... Wait was long and it seriously wasn't all that special...
