Seriously, a dealer?!?! Couldn't even bother to do a full detail before pictures? The dealer I bought from down here in SoCal did a full interior and exterior detail prior to handing it over. (Private detailer, not the dealer scratch special) They also got someone to fix a large tear in the passenger seat. I think it's a good negotiation chip but also know that dealers know the TL-S are in high demand..

I was going to go private party... but don't feel like dealing with meeting with people etc...

We will see how it goes. I could try to get them to give it a detail, my buddy just picked up a 11' Sorrento and he was like "why is it so dirty"

Dealer apologized and said we will take it to a professional detailer...

Oh no, don't misread what i meant. Buying from a dealer is fine, like i said, I bought mine from one too I'm just shocked an Acura dealer put out a car like this without detailing it..

Dealer took that cbp on trade for 8k. They didn't detail it because they want quick turnaround, otherwise it's off to the secondary market. I'd offer 12k max.

It looks fantastic in the pics.

Looks like a bullet.

Needs 6MT, doe.

No, seriously.

Do it. Do it.

Thanks for the compliments, fellers.

Kevin, CBP is my favorite color.
Also, not having 6MT on both your cars would be a good thing. I'd not mind the TL being automatic if it weren't an 04 and if I didn't have another 6MT car to drive.

naw man, I think you'd be fine. The important thing is knowing at what point the clutch begins to engage.

Be on level ground, in neutral. Pull up the ebrake. Push in clutch and put into first gear. Slowly begin releasing the clutch. Eventually you'll feel the car want to lurch forward.

From there, it's just practice, hitting that sweet spot. I mean, yeah, if you're a tool you can burn it out. But if you drive conservatively for the first few months, you'll get a hang of it in no time.

And den you learn rev matching. And den you learn heeltoe. And den you become superstar world champion race car driver!!!

My friend let me drive his car a few years ago. and then last year my (very nice) friend let me practice on his new BRZ... BRZ is actually surprisingly forgiving. I think it's one of those, 'keep practicing and you'll get better' things.

110%. I was god awful when I started driving standard at 16. I blame my brother though. He was just like "add gas as you release the clutch". um, ok! I'd start adding gas and then start releasing the clutch. Engine would rev up to like 4000 rpm, each and everytime.

Once my friend told me about the clutch release point, it ALL made sense. I was like "WTF?! Why didn't my brother tell me this before?!" His car had a spongey soft clutch, so it didn't give good feedback.

What he should have said was "release the clutch about half way and THEN start adding gas." I was too nervous to figure it out on my own- Ah, the good ol' days

honestly, it makes no difference. A clutch is a pain in the ass and/or expensive to replace on any car. On an 89 Accord, instead of replacing it, the car will likely end up at the crusher though. Just not worth it.

That place seems to have some good cars, or just really good pictures. Resonable prices too, never bought a car from a different state but I'm sure it's not difficult, people do it all the time. JB just bought one over here in SF.

Fly to Texas, drive car back.. or just ship car to Cali

I think he was referring to the 04-06s having the MT option, where as the 07-08 bases were only AT. If he had an 07-08, he'd be happy with it, but for what he has, an 04, it's all good.

Yes, but we are talking about learning to drive standards, not a word about AT. For fuck sakes, :JS:

No one is saying a word about an AT dying here. It's not even the topic of discussion. FFS. :JS:
