So, Maj...I know you enjoy the F&F movies...I'm not quite done yet, but I watched Fast & Furious (the 4th one) and it was my first (call me a F&F Virgin)...and I'll say this: Stupidest movie I've seen to-date so far.

The story so far...dumber than lining up for a cellphone with an Apple sign. The dialogue, horsebleep. And driving...stupidly horsebleep. Sure, some of the womenz are hot...but, otherwise...seriously, WTF?!?

I mean, how did this movie spawn more 3 more sequels (we're at Part 7 now)...?!??

Also holy crap Anil and his sexy car is back! HI! Welcome back! I was creeping on AZ before I got my TL and Anil's car was one of the sexiest ones on the forum
I moved so many people in my life, it doesn't even bother me anymore.

Think I'm going to rust inhibitor the shit out of the rust I got (inside the door + outside), then coat with LPS3 if I can get my hands on it. Then recoat before winter, then recoat and recoat and recoat until the car EOL. Don't really want to grind it down and replace and repaint.

Mebbe, I'm missing some context as to why these movies are good. So, by all means, edumacate me.

I mean, it's maybe like explaining to someone who never saw Pacific Rim and got the shoutouts to Japanese anime and mecha...and then, the lightbulb turning on.

So, give me the lightbulb to the stupidity I'm watching so far in the 4th Fast and Furious. Do I need to watch Part 1 to maybe get it better? What is it?

Shoot...Splack Pack is where it's at!

Well, I have been crazy, and I have been normal. My paint looks fine for now and most think it looks good for it's age and I personally suggest you keep it to the bare minimum. If you're hellbent on givnig it a whirl...Porter Cable 7400XP or whatever it was is fantastic.

It's a boy movie. As in not a man movie. You turn off the switch, you watch the explosions, the hot wheels, that's it. There's not more to it.

some of you might be old enough to remember this episode of Diff Strokes. I rewatched this clip...wasn't less creepy...not sure they'd air that nowadays but I bet it helped a lot of kids not be victims. Shoot...I thought everyone wanted to get my shirt off as a kid!

Okay...I guess. Just personally wish they could've done a better job. The scene where Paul walked in on Jordana before his big ride-out to Mexico with Vin was like, WTF.

"Hey".

*proceeds to make out with hot chick with big muscle-bound brother still outside*

DAFUQ. And how did those two make it across the border? Isn't there an APB on Vinny by the popo and state?

Bruh.. 4 is the most forgettable. It was when the crew gets back together.

You need to watch 1 and 5. In that order... 3 if you're bored.

It's not terrible, but unless you watched 1, 2, 3.. it won't mean shit to you.

Back story.. 1 is teh tits.. at least if you were into the car game back then. It's a bit ridic, but it has heart. The crew (except for PW) refused to do 2 since they knew they couldn't recreate the magic (rob cohen even wouldn't do it).. so Singleton does it.. fucks it completely.

3 goes off the reservation.. new characters, cameo at the end. 4 is where they come back to the series because $$ and new director. It's okay but they try to tie in all the stories to be cohesive and it's just ultimately forgettable.

K...thanks, Maj. Son of a. Well, they are playing F&F movies on TV over and over. So, I'll have ample opportunity to watch the ones you recommended.

Thanks for the recommendation (and to the others too) to watch 1, then 5...and not this one. I know we generally agree on most things and so, I was just thinking throughout the movie yesterday, "How can Maj and the others like F&F so much? This movie is utter sh*t."

Makes sense now.

I hope you enjoy them.. it's different than growing up with the series. When FF1 came out, the culture was brimming. Now it all seems ridiculous.

The scene back then was going strong for years.. One of the biggest / strongest rice crews was actually up in BC. You could have made a movie about those fuckers. Not only were they rice, they were also tied into organized crime.. BCB, BTK, etc. I remember seeing them cruise up I5 at night back in the early 90s.. like fucking rice burning space ships.. they were glorious.

Scene died down in the mid-late 2000s.. got super corny (neon paints, colored wire loom, intake + catback (fart can) = 1000whp). So the emotions are different for those new the series and not tied to rice car culture.

Pops was actually lead investigator with RCMP + Van City AOC unit on a case that involved 2 murders, dope smuggling (black tar heroin), and a string of suspects. I visited the AOC office, huge map of all the snake heads, etc. MFrs even planted a car bomb on the lead Van City detective. Luckily he saw it before getting in the car. Shit was too real.

I would say CSB...but that actually was, a cool story, brah.

Also...so you're saying that your Dad was the real life Vin Diesel, that inspired FF 1? Based loosely on true events!?!?

Interesting enough, that investigation is tied to Shrimpy Chow and his brosef who just got pinched in the CA congressman (Yee) gun running scheme from the PI. Those fuckers did some dirt in the day.. doesn't surprise me they are still dirty at the highest level.

Hey, I was guilty of slapping on a bodykit on my CL-S and dabbling into some mods.

So, I can definitely relate. I also think what turned me off about F&F initially was when I saw the scene with Walker driving as fast as possible with Eva on his passenger seat and starting at her. The stare and drive thing? Stupid. But, again, per your recommendations, Part 2 was stupid and so, I've had a bad impression of the series based on seeing the crap sequels.

I'll give 1 and 5 a shot when they are on TV to DVR.
