Lots of good ones.. here's a decent list for you to consider. I like Castrol SRF.. it's comparable in price, widely available and a top performer. Their LMA line was pretty good as well. Price is a big one if you do consider tracking it.

Thanks Maj and PB, will definitely look around and weigh my options, the XLR8 brake packages seem solid as well, and I know a lot of people also suggested racingbrakes pads.
Also, fuck yeah Mountain Dew - nothing like liquid diabetus to brighten my day

Siding with Maj on this one.
I'd go with something better than Motul 5.1, so Castrol SRF def fits but might not be very cheap. I've used ATE Super Blue in the past because it was readily available and for small tracking I'd highly recommend it. Also it's easy to see when you flush whatever you have for it since it's blue.
I'm not sure if you can still get your hands on it though, haven't seen it in a while.

Damn...I love my Dad. Showed him the S yesterday for the first time since getting rid of the old one. After his initial "you sure that's financially responsible" spiel...
He sends me this...:rofl
Pardon grammar, English is his 2nd language
enjoy the smoooottth ride make sure you control it.
we used to go to a big parking lot at night to learn how our cars really handled
MGA was great, spitfire crap on fast curves, jumpin and 2 CV just great except for speed...
we used to go to a military tarmac near biere and try to flip them.
it was a factory fact that if you can flip a citroen 2 CV THEY WOULD GIVE YOU A NEW ONE.. no success and we did try.
full blast then yank the wheel. bring in the elbows but... nope
fun times

Change the fluid IMMEDIATELY, Pull the calipers off, check to see if the pistons are seized, Lube up the slider pins, etc.
Calipers generally don't have to be rebuilt. I've never had to rebuild a single one in almost 15 years of driving, but I kept on top of maintenance. The thing is, you may put on new brakes from XLR8 and think your car stops hella good now, but you likely could have had the same results with a proper brake service of what you have now. I wouldn't rebuild the calipers unless it's clear their is something wrong with them and at this point I'm not entirely convinced you do have a serious problem.
New pads and rotors aren't a bad thing, but that won't help you stopping if your fluid is still original (lol) and calipers are messed up. Do the cheap options first to make sure everything is all good before dumping big money. A bottle of brake fluid is like $6.

haven't told pops about the V.. because $ talk (I'm a big boy wearing big boy pants). I told him years ago I was going to project car Eleanor. His response, you'll kill yourself. Wait til he finds out I have more HP than the 427 I was going to put into project E.
J.. tell pops that you consulted with your financial advisors F&M and they gave you the green light.

Huh ... looks like Super Blue is still available and is pretty cheap to boot - nice median price between 5.1 and Motul's RBF line / Castrol SRF. Will do more research and check back in

I stick to ATE Blue also. I highly doubt I ever get my brakes hot enough on the streets to warrant anything better. Plus, the convenience of being readily available at most places helps big time.

TB, its definitely on the to-do list this coming week, I'm going to have her jacked up to put on coils/rsb/endlinks/wheels(maybe) and I'm going to sit down to tackle the brakes (have never tackled anything brake related before) to figure out what my immediate course of action is going to be, so a fluid change is probably in order one way or another.
I should add that I also have that ATF 3x3 I need to at least start, and the pressure switches to install. So its going to be a busy easter - good thing I have Friday and Monday off

Bleed the brakes with another person if it's your first time. One pours fluid into the reservoir, the other bleeds it at every corner until clean. There's an order in which you're supposed to do the brakes in. Follow this:

Nah it's an AT that belonged to an old dude then to some guy who bought the car and went for football scholarship in Florida but left the car at his parents. During my inspection, I put the car on the lift, pulled the brake and it went shdhfjskcvcmnvbmc. Happens all the time to cars where the brake was almost never used, it just breaks apart. Might fix it when I switch to summer wheels but it's not my priority TBH now that winter is over.

Football scholarship in FL... must be nice lol, if only to get the fuck away from QC winters.
Also rofl at client at the gym here telling another client I'm an asshole for asking him to bring his membership every time like he's supposed to. Maybe I should let him in for free every time too...
