Finally took the V to work today.. have a lunch planned with some friends. Let's see if I can get a car full of people grabbing the oh shit handle and contemplate their life choices. Like letting me drive them to lunch.

It's an old thing. Still uncool from what I remember.

Sounds like a plan. My friend had a track Integra that was barely road legal a few years ago. Nothing like scaring the shit out of people in a car.

I used to work at a small engineering firm. I met some great brosefs there. Anyways.. we'd go to lunch a lot and one of them drove a bugeye WRX. He must have been pushing 400 at the wheels. Anyways.. we loved yet dread when he offered to drive. Here in Texas we have big swooping turnarounds under the freeway at most intersections. He'd downshift, get into boost (+20 psi) and scare the shit out of us hitting the turnaround. I rode in the bitch seat and saw the curb and our fate inches away. Great times! He sold the bugeye for not very much and bought a 550i.. nice car, but missed the raw powahh!

Ha that's funny, a WRX is the only car I ever needed to use the bitch handle so far. A programmer that used to work here had a friend that had one of these bugeye ones too. Probably pushing just as much, which is what happens when you're a kid in your 20ies making too much money and without a girlfriend.

I was going to the programmer birthday and he offered me a ride since my place was on his way to the party anyway...
There's a notable narrow highway/ring road between 2 walls here where you're supposed to drive 45mph but everybody does 65mph. There's always at least an accident per day there, luckily it wasn't us, because we were doing 90mph. At some point he had to change lanes in between 2 semis... I grabbed the handle. Not too keen of that Fast and Furious shit in real life.

Anyways, the V has been great. I don't even engine brake.. she's a big V8. When it's time to go fast she snaps necks. If you're in traffic, she just grumbles and moves along nice and easy. I only touched the brake when traffic comes to a complete stop. Looking forward to doing trans and diff oil changes soon.

Yeah, plus that ring road is shit. It's not even a ring road, but a road that goes sorta straight through the island of Montreal. For around 9 miles there's a stretch that's supported 50 feet in the air and that's where most accidents happen since it's so narrow. That's obviously exactly where we went between 2 semis.

I've been unable to find a 6MT V sedan in my area to test drive, which is probably a blessing in disquise. A million coupes though, so I may go get some seat time in one of those.

Oh, I'm still here. I managed to dodge the ban hammer- and I'm guessing because I didn't actually post a link. I'll take accountability for what I did post up- I figured it was clear enough, but it wasn't, and as such, yup, I'll take responsibility for it. fair enough and lesson learned.

You can thank Margie for getting the Boss in here though. That was 100% his decision- and he did it to... Well... Can't say anymore.

Now excuse me while I go put my flame suit on and await the backlash.

I'm pretty damn sure it was a link, since I even checked if you disguised the url as in (url=disney.com)www.offensivesite.com(/url)

All in all, still think that was over the limit. Not siding with Maj or anything, he can eat my French derriere with ranch dressing, I'm just saying this isn't 4chan /b/.

I'm sure if I got in the driver seat of a CTS-V I would end up in debt. So I'm glad I ain't doing that.

I just can't bring myself to buy an auto just yet. I don't care about which one is faster or etc....I just prefer to row my own.

I worked for a Caddy dealership back in the day and drove a 1G V in the snow regularly on stock tires so I'm not even concerned about that

I don't know whats up with newbies being so scared of the ban hammer. Shiett.. Justn and I have been banned several times. Justn's been dispatched by pretty much every mod here. Never by posting offensive or distasteful content though.

Don't post shit that can get someone fired.. that's a dick move. PB is right, we bullshit here but show some class or shake some ass.

You're a grown man, father of several cats, engineer, husband. Before you post, think.. would my grandmother appreciate this.

Bob having some fun.. see how flat it stays through the turn.. doesn't even get loose when he puts his foot in it before coming off the turn (TC works pretty well). Btw.. he's going like 100 at the merge, effortlessly..

I fail to see what's exceptional with the snow video or the other one. I think I've been spoiled by snow here and for the second video... seeing freaking TX vettes with more HP than a cruise ship.

+500 horses at the rear.. pretty amazing to me. The 2nd vid is just a demo of how smooth and easy she is. Bob could have hammered through there.. He's just cruising.

Good tires makes all the difference in winter. I've never bought all seasons for winter driving but I've drove cars with them on in the past. Can't believe people used to go by with that here.

Indeed.. another vid from Bob as a testament to 255 Blizzak LM60s on each corner

I use Eastwood salt neutralizer after driving in these conditions. I do want to keep this car a while, after all.

CTS-V wagon in the snow - YouTube
Definitely agree with the quote in this one. Obviously I'm not driving a CTS-V, nor a manual, but with good tires and proper light foot acceleration, there's no reason a car shouldn't be driven in the winter unless in the worst condition, where pretty much any car shouldn't really be driven anyway.

The NWS policy is not that hard to understand. Many of us are on here during work to keep our sanity and pass the grind of a day in the office...so, clicking on something that is obscene/offensive can get many peeps in trouble with their local HR rep.

TacoBerro is lucky Ron A and SB were forgiving.
