LOL...he was running 530's for a SHORT period of time as his winter wheels and still had his Work wheels! His car is awesome. Ebelp is John, not Jon
In my honest opinion...pay to have it rolled by someone with experience. I am still learning and I've likely done 6 cars, MY TL being the test and I didn't do that one perfectly.

Its ok you can tease me about the 530s all you want, it'll eventually annoy me enough to go buy those Weds I want.

J is right on the 3x3. If y'all want to run the Redline, there's really no need to use it on the first two drain/fills. I'd just use DW1 on the first two drain/fills and then put the Redline in there on the last fill.

Dennis...
Volk on his S2000
XXR on his TL
Which one does he love the most?
Hey N1...I'm not against the XXR for anyone but me! I just think it's funny that you're gonna spend 200 on fluid, 2K on BBK but you don't have the budget for the wheels you want!

Iunno like I said, wasn't high on the priority list and I wanted something I'd be happy for the summer at least
Also one of the stockies on mine is now pretty much done for after my front right impact this winter - trying to decide if I should buy a replacement or just scrap the set altogether. They're curbed to hell, I'll say that much.

Well, when I say cheap sh*t, I don't mean advance auto parts brake fluid in your tranny...I mean the more reasonably priced stuff...
I know that there's a percentage thing...and I'm totally ballparking the numbers
First one changes like 78% of the fluid
Second one makes it so there's 89% new fluid
Last one is 99% new fluid.
I think the fact that it's NEW fluid matters most...so, since you're dumping the stuff anyway after the first 2 ...use the cheaper oem auto fluid, then use the pricey stuff after. Or maybe I'm wrong...maybe the good stuff should go in first.
Swapping to new fluid, no matter which one...before tranny is cooked, and doing all the other switch/filter maintenance I think is more important than what trendy hipster fluid you do end up putting in there.
That's like saying astroglide is better than ky. I can tell you...I've used both and they both taste the same.

I thought of that when you posted about going cheap yesterday
7.6qts or 7.4qts in the tranny from top of my head
Drain 3 out of that, fill 3, that's like 40% new stuff.
Drain 3 out of that, fill 3, that's like 64% new stuff.
Drain 3 out of that, fill 3, that's like 78% new stuff.
Then 87, 95, 97, 98, 99 etc.
The 3x3 is recommended because you get near 80% new fluid I believe, which is "good" enough. You'll see why it's not really an option to make the first 2 fills DW1 if you're going to run Redline stuff.

I don't have XXR anymore but I've been though 2 sets. I'd buy another set of 530 in a heartbeat because they look good to me. XXR owners always get bashed for not being able to afford real wheels when that is not always true. I could afford real wheels at the time but the XXR looked damn good. Only reason I sold them was because I wanted mesh wheels with a lip.

Oh I can handle the heat man
I love them too. Most JDM wheels don't do it for me, I'd love a set of BBS CHRs which the 530s are close in look too.
Pb dont worry dude take your time, I havent even picked them up yet lol

Well considering what I want to do with the car, the 530s are kind of the wrong wheel to buy, and that's what J is getting at. I'm definitely going to get something forged down the road to track because I would definitely be scared to run them at any kind of extreme. But I'd be equally scared to run a 3000$ set of wheels on Toronto roads

Yup OZ consistently makes some of the lightest wheels for the money from what I've seen, but its too bad they're so damn ugly
Its funny because while I really don't like the look of the RPF1s, the silver ones are growing on me. If I can score a decent deal on some, or the RS05RR (fat chance) that might be my go to. I'd kill for a set of BBS CHRs but goddamn they are expensive
The FRS forums were an awesome source for "light wheels for the money"

At least I'll have plenty of time to find something
Something else I've been trying to research is if its possible to rebuild the 5AT to handle more power via new clutch pack / valve work, but there's such a limited amount of people actually pushing the 5AT, I doubt anyone knows the actual threshold for failure. Maybe buying an 07 Accord 5AT on the low and experimenting with that will yield the answer

If I go Volk im saying fuck it and going all out with a set of TE37 Super Laps or regular 37s in white. At that price point I'd kill myself if I ever curbed them lawl

Yeah, like Maj said, Luda has always been talking about Acuras. He still has his old Legend that he's had since before he got a record deal. He says he uses it to ride to his jet. Those Legends still look good to me! I saw one the other day.

Called Honda dealer for prices for tranny work on the weekend (filter change + switches + ATF)... stupid expensive.
Honda:
Tranny filter
91302-RAY-003 $6.57 bushing
91301-RAY-004 $8.25 o ring
25803-RAY-000 $3.17 spring
25450-RAY-003 $27.67 filter
90471-RGR-000 $2.17 washer x2
Switches
90471-PW7-A00 gasket x2 $6.47
28610-RAY-013 switch 3rd $96.23
28600-RAY-013 switch 4th $71.12
11.31/qt for DW1. At that price, Red Line is not a luxury.
Acura:
Tranny filter
91302-RAY-003 $6.87 bushing
91301-RAY-004 $8.63 o ring
25803-RAY-000 $3.31 spring
25450-RAY-003 $28.92 filter
90471-RGR-000 $2.27 washer x2
Switches
90471-PW7-A00 gasket x2 $4.17
28610-RAY-013 switch 3rd $100.60
