Yeah, like 200-300 pounds difference vs the base 4th gen TL and 500-600 pounds vs the SH-AWD 4th gen. Quite the difference when it's the same motor for the base and a 305hp 3.7L for the SH-AWD.
For the record, I would consider the Altima 2.5 one of the most boring car I've ever tried. I was looking at the third gen Altimas before buying the TL and tried a 2.5L version for shit and giggles and it felt like I needed to start wearing a hat, go to church on Sunday and eat all-bran pretty much instantly. I imagine the TLX with a 2.4 feels exactly the same.
Nawww...he did it right. Picked a good, powerful car (that hopefully won't have too many issues) and didn't buy rims!
I actually was looking at BMW set of VMR at one point...nice looking wheels.
I never really got into the luxury wheel craze and spending so much on wheels (probably because I've never owned a really expensive car).
Couldn't really fathom putting $2-3K of wheels on a $10K car. I just think money is best spent elsewhere. A set of cheap decent looking wheels is fine enough. If there was a definitive weight advantage then fine, but form over function just isn't my thing.
Also I watched Need for Speed yesterday since I was on my own. What a stupid ass movie. Nothing makes freaking sense in the damn thing, there's no purpose to anything they do and 20 minutes in the movie some guy (Dominic Cooper) throws the keys of his uncle Koenigsegg Ageras to 2 nearly random dudes (1 of them being Aaron Paul) to "settle their differences" then they end up crashing one. Uh, yeah. I like action racing movies as much as the next guy, but this was horse shit. Trying to make Aaron Paul a cool silent car dude with a dark past just doesn't work either.

I've never really understood spending a bunch of $$$ on wheels either...I will say that putting the right wheels on a car can really enhance the look. J's car is a case in point...I painted my TL wheels cuz I was too cheap to spend a bunch on new ones. I did like the graphite color on the white car. That being said...the stock rims on the BMW, 18" and 5 spoke, the silver looks good on the silver car. Remember, this BMW was an expensive car when new, but I bought the 4 year old car after it depreciated about 50%.

I didn't expect anything from it, so I actually enjoyed it.
About wheels...honestly, I had cheap heavy wheels on my accord and they didn't hold up great. Then all the horror stories about cracks and bends and not being able to get them balanced right...in the end, I decided I'd like some middle of the road ones that were used. If you asked me to cough up the cash up front for a set after center caps and tires and balance...I'd say no...but looking for the deal and finding it and knowing you can make it look nice and best of all...STICKING WITH IT...
The other thing is once you spend the money, you pretty much sell them with minimal loss (except tires) and then you can move on to another set for almost no extra money. Pretty cool.
If you asked me to go with cheap/sh*tty wheels or to keep the stock ENKEI good quality wheels...I'd stick with stock and a nice drop and some spacers all day every day. 5 spoke or aspec...shoot, I still have 18 x 8.5" aspecs in my garage WITH tires on it...but with how much I love how much the Advan transform the look of the car, I never put them on for more than a week.

I'm not sure what you mean...I wasn't trying to...I was complimenting your TL and S2K, both of those cars are hawt and the wheels are a big part of that.
Honestly, I should have kept the stock wheels on both cars...tremendous waste of money. But, in the end...the look of the car looked so good and different from stock and the only thing holding it back was the wheels. Being on this site and S2Ki killed it because you'd see a million others with the same stock wheels and feel like your car was no longer unique.

Hmmmm...okie dokie. I would say, that if a sweet set of wheels and tires fell in my lap I would hesitate to swap them. Chances of that happening are slim and none tho.

As far as it goes, I think the Enkei are middle of the road in terms of quality. They're not bad but not "luxury wheels" either.
Regarding weight, most of the 19" are in the 21-26 lbs range. Some go out of bounds with 30 lbs (and are also stupidly expensive) but I wouldn't consider that as an option whether cheap or expensive. As I said, not a fan of form over function. If I'm going to add 7 lbs of rotational mass it better be freaking worth it!
On the topic of value/depreciation, it's all good until you get road rash or ding it. Then you just remove a few hundreds out of your resale value. The roads in Quebec are terrible. Think Warsaw in WW2 state...
Also why I'm hesitant to lower the car. Winter + potholes = death of everything.
I do look up used offers, but none seem to be that interesting. Likely because other Quebec users also think it's useless to be running nice wheels with terrible roads. fml haha
I wish I could get myself some A-Specs for a decent price. I like the simplicity and looks very stock.

I had/have BBS CH's on the 128i and paid $100/wheel for 'em. Definitely would not have paid any more than that just for the pimpy factor - mine are a little beat up if you look close, but from 5' away they're really pretty.

Gary, get a dusk photo...but drop the angle of your photo to more of the front quarter or rear quarter panel...and get down on your knee to take it...a few feet here and there make ALL the difference in how aggressive/cool the car looks in the photo.

Yeah but I'm currently using my stockies for winter since I was thinking of buying some summer ones. They're gonna look like shit when summer comes. Salt and snow don't do so well. I'll see anyway. Already looking forward spacing them a bit so they sit more flush without going crazy and having to roll fenders or get a camber kit.
Random question, but what's the difference between the a-spec side skirt and the normal side skirt? I fail to see a difference, but I never see them side by side so that's somewhat difficult.

Any opinions on running ethanol free gas in my car?
Runs just fine. I usually run 10% or less ethanol (undisclosed at my favorite station) and sometimes treat myself to some ethanol free (ethanol free is getting rare here, don't know about you guys)
The "issue" is suddenly running a car that was always ethanol free on gas containing ethanol, it knocks off all the carbon deposits and cleans everything a bit too well.
