I'm with you on that...
Actually, there's an ebaymotors auction house that's based in Texas...I'd go that route next time...not that long of a drive back home and a good way to see what'll break up front.
![:O](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/embarrassment.gif)
Spot fkng on on your analysis on the dash too...having had it happen to me and then having Acura replace it, that's it. That's Also why I have the window visors...at home it's in a garage...at work, I always leave the front two windows cracked and the sun shade up...keep the ambient temp in the car lower by a few dozen degrees...then ride home with the windows down until it's cooler and then kick on the AC (if I even need to).
And oh yeah, that drive home from Texas, showed me my heater core was crap.

On the Denali? Shit son, your truck gots cancer. It'll keep coming back. It may take 6 months or 6 years, but it'll be back.
I tried having my 1992 Civic Si repaired, back in the day. Ordered new replacement rear quarter panels and had a shop take care of the work... They did a nice job (I kept coming in everyday to see the progress, lol), but in the end it came back after the second or third winter. Thankfully I didn't own the car by then (was bought by an acquaintance of mine)

When the car was sliding towards the ditch at some point I realized I'd need to pilot this shit and would end up swerving a bit, I let out a "oh fuck". I don't think I've ever seen my girlfriend this tense. She just sunk in her seat and held on to the door.
![rofl](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)
About halfway there..
HI is home numero dos.
It's not the sun that really fucks the dash up. It's the temperature change and poor insulation between the polyurethane cover. The dash is made of of a thin layer of foam covered in polyu. The foam doesn't stretch, but the polyu does.
So when it's hot or cold, you hit the HVAC that runs right under the dash and you have expansion and contraction going on that eventually makes teh polyu crack where there are divisions like where the passenger airbag runs, gaps where the center speaker sits, etc.
If you cover the top of the dash on hot / cold days or slowly cool / heat the cabin, it probably wouldn't crack.

Sidebar...that thread about the blown #5 cylinder spark plug...how hard is it to get to the plugs on the back of the motor in the TL?

Not too hard, if you're nimble.
Best bet is put a towel on the motor and use a step stool and rest on it
I swapped plugs without removing the strut bar the first time. Now, I'd just remove it to make it easier.

Plugs are super easy.. removing strut bar makes it even easier. Just an extra 5 minutes to do so. :wrench:

If you're 6 footish.. you can just lean over. Your knees take a beating though.![Bite Lip](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/bitelip.gif)
If you're freakishly tall like Taco, you could probably do the plugs and oil at the same time. Your face would take the beating though.

It's amazing how much time I wasted in my youth doing things the "easy" way by avoiding removing things that would have made the job a billion times easier..instead stripped and lost bolts, skinned my knuckles...gah! No way would I want to go back to being 18...
Only my body...I'd like to recover from sprains and strains in 4 minutes like I used to.

Shoot...after aligning the spark plug gaskets and getting the rear cat out, the plugs seem very easy to do. I've gotten very comfortable working on the car in the face down arse up position.

My Dad turned 65 yesterday...
He looks like he's having a really hard time wrapping his head around being a number that he's always considered REALLY old.
Time passes so fast. I hope I live a long enough life to see my kids grow up and to meet my grandchildren...but not long enough to need a diaper.

That thread is bs GK.. don't worry about the TL spark plugs. As long as you change them every 100k, you should be fine. Just make sure at each tuneup that you properly thread them in and always use primo high-octane petro.

Yeah I didn't want to say 105k specifically because my plugs were essentially toast at 105k on the TL. The MDX plugs still had life at 105k though.. depends if there are plats or iridiums from the factory. When you replace them, use the NGK iridiums.

Thanks Maj...the TL has 83K on it so I'm guessing they're fine but I'll check them to give her piece of mind. OH, and I have always used HIGH (Colorado) test. Get it?

Left knee have a torn meniscus...just got used to it.
Over vacation...was cutting the grass and holding the weedeater in my left arm to pull the starter...something in my shoulder got mad at me. Hurt to put on a t-shirt, shampoo...etc...for like a week. Fk it, only needed to be clean from the waist down anyway.

I'm guessing a little arthritis, it has felt better the last couple days whilst I sat on my ass watching football. Now I do have residual pain from injuries...right knee and hip, right elbow and shoulder, left ankle, right ankle, head...

I'm sure you already know, but ice that fker and ibuprofen and lay off it. I did that to my knee over 3 years ago now...I decided the best way to "fix it" was to do repeated bouncy deep squats. LOL...shoot, maybe it didn't even tear until I did that. I remember it feeling like a rubber band that was over stretched in there.
Dammit...no more ninja rolls up from the ground after tinkering with the exhaust. Left knee just said IDGAF and went out.

LOL...he'll likely just use it to shoot a target in the yard. He's a hippie, after all! He's always had a fascination with Medieval weapons...when he did past life regression and firewalking and all that stuff he said he always saw himself as a soldier with a crossbow. Figured he'd love it and he did!
