Yes Chicago is beautiful! But, cold Winter, a lot of crime, and the traffic sucks. Other than that, I loved it. East Tennessee and Southern Florida are my favorites so far. Oh, let's not forget the Denver area!

But, any major city has some crazy crime in sketchy areas.
The winter is definitely a character-building process in Chicago...that was until I had to live through one of those up here in Canada. Makes Chicago's winters feel like summer.

I was offered the job at our Chicago site, but turned it down. I can't deal with that weather. I escaped NY hoping that the weather would be a bit nicer down here in VA, but then the fucking polar vortex decides to follow

Florida...it's nice to visit but the summer humidity and hurricanes? Ehhh...no thanks. And while I snark about the cold...I'd take the cold over the heat. I don't do well in extremely hot weather.

As for Miami, my brother lived there for about 8 years. I would visit for months at a time, usually in July/August. Humidity sucks, but you get used to it. I've been in much worse conditions. I've gone through two hurricanes down there, not a huge deal. The tropical storm we dealt with a few years ago here in Richmond was much worse - I was without power for a week, and it wasn't even a big storm. But, I don't know if I could live in Florida. It's a nice place to visit, but i don't think I'd want to live there.
Realistically speaking, I see myself in Charlotte in the next five years. I love that city. They still get snow and ice storms occasionally, but it's not bad.

Humidity does suck. But, I grew up in the South, so you get used to it. I'd love to live in Florida. I guess everyone has preferences with everything though.

I'm only kidding. I'm sure Betty is capable of stuffing J's box as full as he'd like it. I will say, he is a good looking guy though. I think we'd get along well. I can see he and Betty, and my gf and I having a great time together hanging out. He just seems like an interesting person to me.

And you guys do realize that although we have a normal hurricane season in Florida that is about to end...we haven't had anything notable as far as major damage since 2005, right?!? 9 Flippin years ago...
Don't hear too many saying they don't want to live in Jersey because of hurricanes but I do recall a certain Sandy being a non-event at our power company a few years ago
Florida sucks equally for how awesome it is...I'm partial to South Florida but there's something for everyone here depending on where you go. Golf, sure...Boating, sure...jerking off to hotties on the beach, a must...
The Everglades in and of themselves are a pretty interesting thing to check out...nothing like it too many other places in the world.

Everyone was discussing places to live, and most people on this thread think it's too hot and humid most of the year. Which it is, but it's an effing great place!!
