I'm still debating that Miata... I don't know if I want it... But at the same time I do want it, lol. I'm pretty sure that doesn't make any sense. I don't know what to do.
I'm just scared that I'll buy it and end up regretting it. But I'm not exactly sure why I'd regret it in the first place.

If it's a craftsman, I'd just take a sawzall to it...then drive to sears and have it replaced for free. Cut it at the base of the socket, where it's just that square piece. Or grinder if you can fit it in there.
OMG Justin, I've had that happen too, but I've noticed while I could still switch the socket direction.

I posted a pic up of a Miata Im Considering, a little while ago. No rexus. I already have a sedan. No TLX. I already have a sedan. And I don't want to finance/lease. And I don't want the first model year. And I don't want an auto.
Jamie, a z4 would be nice, but I feel I cannot afford a BMW at this point in my life. Ideally, I'd get an S2000, but I don't fit in those. My only remaining option is a Miata, which I do fit in.
Edit: I'm also a trim level whore, so if I were considering a Z4, I'd have to automatically start looking at the MZ4, which I know I can't afford. I know it's stupid, but every car I've ever owned was the highest trim level available for its corresponding year. I just like my cars that way. I'd hate to buy a lower trim and then start adding parts to make it that higher trim. Why wouldn't I just buy the higher trim from the get go?

The stock (Bose) sound system is pretty lousy. HVAC system works well so you can have the top down in colder weather and keep the heat cranked. Dad's has keyless ignition, so the fob stays inyapants. I dunno, they're good, simple cars.
If you go with a Z4, avoid the Z4M and get a 3.0si. The Z4M has the same ownership cost/hassle as the E46 M3 (valve adjustments, expensive oil, etc etc) and you have to really want that before just diving in.
The 3.0si is the N52 motor (same as I have in the 128i) but with a bigger intake manifold. It makes somewhere around 260 hp and the only real reliability concern is the electric water pump, which lasts about 75k miles and costs ~$400 (part only) to replace. The motor otherwise is stout, just change the oil sometimes. Only thing with the Z4 is that the 3.0si has an open diff, gotta get the Z4M to have your slips limited.

Good day to y'all! ![Wave](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/wave.gif)
If salad is on the menu today, I'll have Grilled Chicken Caesar!
Jake, you're knowledge of BMW's is impressive! That was quite an informative piece this morning.
J, as always, I love your car and everything you've done with it! You have a great eye when it comes to modding a ride for sure!

I do!
Unfortunely, my career prohibits eating all those calories. I only eat cereal occasionally these days. But, Peyton Manning has some fabulous stuff! I have a friend that goes to Broncos games all the time. He always brings back great souvenirs!

If you fit in the NC Miata, you really can't go wrong with one. I'm too tall to realistically own one (my NA was a stretch) but my dad has a 2013. It's treated him well so far - he got whatever package has the Bilsteins and LSD. I know the one you posted is all dolled up so suspension likely doesn't matter, but having that limited slip diff is really nice.

That NC I'm looking at has the "performance" package too, just like your dads. LSD for the win. I've heard the stock bilsteins are shit though. I don't really care about the sound system either, however, I believe this one has upgraded speakers. The head unit is still the oem one though. I don't really care- I plan on driving the car with the roof down anyway, lol. One thing I wished it did have was Bluetooth, but again, I guess it's kind of a useless feature if driving with the roof down.

Yeah, I'm not going to go for the BMW. I think that's something I'll feel more comfortable getting into in about ~10 years (not a 10 year old car, but a new/newer car in 10 years). If I'm buying a car like that, I want to be able to maintain it and mod it accordingly. That is bullshit about the Z4M though, with the maintenance aspect of things. How do people afford to drive them? I guess I should be looking back at my "10 year" comment above, lol.

The NC's stock suspension is pretty soft, even with the Billies. I have to think they're better than "base" shocks, but who knows...
Dad's has Bluetooth and it's fine with the roof up, obviously down not-at-all. Oh, and you can't use it for audio streaming (for music) which is silly, given how new the car is. Thankfully the Aux jack works fine.
Team Owner
If anything, I would rip out the 2.0 in the future and drop in the Mazda 2.5 and put the supercharger back on that. Apparently guys are now doing that and it makes the car haul some serious ass. Still looks stock too, which is a definite plus.
I'm pretty sure I'd be content with the car as-is though. Swapping in the 2.5 isn't all that expensive, but it does take time to do so.
Team Owner
I mean, I could afford a Z4M if I didn't have the "track day, bro" thing going on. You just have to have random chunks of $500 ready to spend. ![ugh](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/ugh.gif)

And yeah, the Bluetooth is just like it is on our TLs. Kinda dumb you can't stream music, but like you said, that's what aux jacks are for
