Usually it's 3 family houses, but her parents let us off the hook by declining another invite by my family since they don't do anything major and don't have a house now...

In laws...

No, Canadian- and damn proud of it

I dunno who came up with the idea to have the same holiday in 2 different countries, but six weeks apart. Stupidest idea ever!

Fry it, Maj! Can't you fry it frozen?

Whoah...the Canadians maybe handed the natives the black plague blankets a few weeks before us?

Too soon?

I actually do find that scenario really fucked up.

Or greatest idea. This means if you relatives on both sides you get to eat twice as much turkey.

Don't think that's really what happened considering they get all these great tax reductions here. Or maybe we felt really bad about it.

Turkey is over rated. Dry as hell meat. I don't care how you make it so that it's "oh so juicy", it's still a dry meat.

A big slab of ham is where it's at.

Don't disagree about the dryness, but I'd rather have steaks or chicken than ham.

I agree...I'm not a fan of turkey to be honest. It smells great but otherwise, of poultry, I'll stick to plain ol' chicken.

How? I'm guessing I'd have to send you my part, but then I'm paying for extra shipping, border crossing fees, etc. Or you just supply me with parts? No idea. I'm clearly missing something, lol.

It is the right assembly. There's only one part number for the 04-06 TL DVD drives, so I don't see how I could have messed that up. The part number is different for the 07-08s, however, I've heard they're interchangeable. Not sure if that's true.

So, any of you treegoats going street-fighting tomorrow to save-save-save? Or perceive you're saving?

He'll no. Black Friday is making its way up to Canada slowly but surely, but I have no interest in fighting the masses. If I need it, I buy it. If I need to wait until black Friday or boxing day, I likely can't afford it and shouldn't be buying it in the first place!

Heh...yeah, I see a heap of pre-Black-Friday and Black Friday sales advertised. Most of the stuff available is junk though.

Decent deals can be had I suppose but, online shopping is where it's at. Did buy a new computer last night...bought the Dell XPS 27. Needed to use up my tech allowance from work and needed a new desktop.

Same. It's absolutely ridiculous to go shopping and save a few pennies while wasting a whole afternoon or day fighting people.

That's pretty much the only shopping I'd do. Don't really need anything at the moment though, and Canadian black friday deals are not that great.

Snowed in? We got like... a centimeter in QC. Jealous. Although I don't recall the last time I didn't go to work because of snow. 45cm ain't a reason even, although you're usually expected to arrive late.

Is it mandatory for you guys in AB to have winter tires or can you get away with 4 seasons?

Sadly, winter tires are not mandatory here in Alberta (I wish they were), but every car I've ever owned has always had a dedicated winter set- the TL is no different.

We only got about 30cm of snow, but I live in a new neighbourhood that is currently maybe 40% developed. Past my house there really is no houses yet, so the snow doesn't get packed down nicely, since there is almost zero traffic. I saw a couple trucks actually get stuck this morning, lol.

It also didn't help that it was pretty windy here, so there seemed to be even more snow accumulation in some spots. I just finished shovelling the shit out of my sidewalk, driveway and even the road in front of our house. Took several hours, but I'm able to get out now. I get stuck once or twice, but I just rock the car back and forth and away I go again. It's funny to see the traction control light stay on solid, lol.
