I just bought this:
DV36T02C/DV36T02A/DV36T02B/DV36T020 Alpine DVD Navigation-in Vehicle GPS from Automobiles & Motorcycles on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group
Here's to hoping that it works. Otherwise I'm gonna be pissed, lol.

Hi Steven...
Listen, I acted like it was no big deal. Painting the exterior of a house correctly is a very big deal. Lots of fargin work...holy shit.

Morning all!
Metallica is fine J! But, Austin posted Satan and his goons. I will say the drummer was badass! The front man needs to just though! Sounds like you're working too hard painting. You have another 7 days off bro! Take your time, and do it nice and slow! One stroke at a time.

It's been a very long time since I've climbed under a car, and it showed. My body is broken. Yet in a weird, masochistic way, I kind of enjoyed it.
I had to replace the suspension on the IS300. I've had the coilovers sitting in the garage since April, but I've been putting it off as long as I could. The front end started to droop so badly that I was tucking tire. I had to split the work into two nights; front suspension Monday night, rear suspension Tuesday night. It took me 5 hours Monday and 4 hours Tuesday. NINE HOURS TOTAL!!! That's nearly three times longer than it took me to do it on the CL. The front suspension is very cramped, and I couldn't break the upper ball joints loose, but I finally squeezed the stock struts/springs out.
The rear was surprisingly easy, aside from taking out all of the interior behind the front seats Seriously Toyota? You mold ducts into the splash shields for the front brakes, include camber adjustments from the factory, but can't put a damn access panel for the top hat bolts in the rear interior trim??
Removing/installing the interior added about 1.5 hours to my night. Thankfully the weather was nice for most of it. That is, until the rain started while I had to plug a hole in the rear passenger tire due to a nail.
But, it's done. The car is at the shop getting new tires (I ordered them a few weeks ago in anticipation for the trip for Thanksgiving) and an alignment. I also asked them to try to source and replace the front upper and lower ball joints. They had a bit too much play for my liking. I just didn't have the time to source the parts and replace them before hitting the road for NY.

Eesh. Glad you got the IS all sorted out. I had a friend in college who had a red one and bought some lowering springs for it. We had the same sort of heartache as you describe pulling everything apart. The front, from what I remember, was a biiiitch.

Eat a bag of dicks, I did. That's the only price that part goes for! I've scoured everywhere... Apparently it USED to sell for about half of that, but they caught on when so many people were buying them lol.
Still better than shipping to Alpine for triple the price

Ryan is on his way home - sent me this of how the drive was going so far. Apparently not a ton of traffic, but the roads are snowy/slushy and that's limiting speed quite a bit. He was less than halfway and said he'd already tacked on another hour to the drive compared to normal. No fun.
Thankfully, the good tires + LSD + front wheel drive should keep him pointed the right direction. Can't imagine doing this in the BMW (the 1er is open diff), it'd be twerking all over the place.

I miss my snow tires and LSD in the CL. The IS is open diff and rocking all seasons.
My original plan was to head to NY after work today, but I saw the weather and decided to leave around 6am tomorrow morning. I did that last year and made it to NY in about 5.5 hours.
Happy belated Fran!

The shop still hasn't finished the alignment, and I got out of work at noon. So I'm just hanging out at work, bored because it's a ghost town.

Boss-man told me to go home.
So I'm meeting a friend at a local brew-pub for some $1.50 craft drafts and cheap appetizers.
Y'all have a good Thanksgiving!
