Best karting experience I had in my life was when it was pouring rain while we were racing in the middle of August 2 years ago. I've only seen that type of downpour a few times in my life, we were soaking wet in 10 seconds and the bucket seat just kept the cold water sloshing around as we drove around the track. My sister fishtailed within a minute but my brother and I lasted for a good 5 minutes before the kart guy signaled us to go back to the pit. It was great drifting around corners like freaking mario kart.

Well, pork is not my favorite meat...I like it cured (i.e. in smokies, bacon).
In some ways, you're healthier not consuming pork IMO.

I had the steak. He also brought some cured bison meat...
I have had the burger before, THIS meat he brought was much better.
I have a friend who is also JD/MD locally, doesn't practice either. Has a restuarant that serves Turtle chilli (delicious), Ostrich pizza and all sorts of stuff. Aligattor pizza. Its a sports bar. Amazing food

Wait...just caught on, you're a doctor?
Ostrich meat is not bad if prepped a certain way for me...otherwise, doesn't do much for me. Alligator is, pretty much chicken to me...and turtle, aside from needing to drink it as part of some concoction soup back when I was younger, I haven't had it since.

When it comes to steak though, I'm perfectly fine with good ol' cow. USDA Prime or AAA beef, please.
^I play a doctor on TV. LOL.
I went to business school for undergrad. Everybody I know is a doc. So chose to be black sheep. Went to Law School. WOrked at a firm one year, did MCAT. Went to med school. Did residency. Did fellowship. Now I am in private practice.
I don't know anything about meat prep. Growing up, we ate chicken once a month, and beef once a year. We at fish 5 times a week, and veggie everyday.
His place was the first I had turtle chilli..and it was great...

I had turtle stew once, it was alright. Ostrich is very iron-tasting, there's a farm around here that raises some. Bison usually have every year, horse every so often, but nothing will take my beef away from me.
My uncle came to visit (lives in Singapore), so we went to Ruth Chris here in LA.
He orderd the BIGGEST thing on the menu, I htink it was 30 oz..can't remmeber. I ordered the 8 oz steak. Mine cost more.
It was one of the times I can tell you, my meat felt worth the $. It was delicious. Don't remember, cut or the name, but it was the smallest on the menu.
Had camel a few times..stew was good, but it was a little tough.
We slaughter cows every year here in LA..best fresh beef we get. $1850 for a cow .

And your diet sounds very much like mine. I don't consume much turf-animals...lots more surf.
Vegetarian for 2 outta 3 meals daily unless you count an egg as non-vegetarian.

Don't be jealous of paygrade, unless you want to live on 36K a year for 8 years. YUCK. ALl my law school friends at that time were driving 911 Turbos, and I was making $2/hr. Ridic.
I tried being "fully vegetarian" for about 9 months. It was pretty easy actually.

As for the money making, GF made like $18K last year. Can't have welfare until you get to like $15K... now that's being broke.

My sister is going to specialize in something gastro-related via Internal Medicine and we were casually talking about her life once she is done her fellowship...pretty freaking nice.
I mean, if you want instant $$$$$, be a dentist. But, again...while I do understand the crap salaries in your first few years, well, you blow by most people once you survive it...and doctors, esp. the specialists, really rake in the $$$.
And for lawyers...yes and no. Depends on the law school. Otherwise, for every comfortable wealthy lawyer bud you have, I can probably give you 10 others I know who went to law school and can't rub 2 pennies together because well, they are outta work...but, that's a result of them going to a meh law school and not a Top 10 one in the US. :shrug;

So, I'm fine being the "twig" I am at 145lbs. But, FWIW, I've bulked up from 130ish...it's doable, just need to stick with it and at some point, you'll taper off but at that juncture, I'd say maintenance and for health.
As well, I don't want to look like a line-backer. I like my slim-fit suits.
They sell ground horse here in Quebec so it's not very uncommon. I'd say it's similar to beef although it is leaner and tastes more like iron. Otherwise it's comparable in most aspects.
Fish isn't really cheap here since we're not close enough to the coast, so it's a chicken diet for me.

Vegetarian doesn't inspire me, and body building on a vegetarian diet is just ridiculously hard.

Yeahhh...you have some points there. And yes, while you are going through residency, you're basically everyone's b*tch. And paid horribly. But, once you are staff...well, depending on your specialization, you can make north of $600K easy.

Your sis will do fine. My mom is Peds GI, and does well.
Dental schools cost more money than med schools. Ideally is if your parents are dentist. Really good friend of mine, her dad owns 4 dental practice in Manhattan. She went to NYU(dad paid), finished dental, bam joined dad's practice as partner, no debt..that is the way you make it. Hard to be a Messican first generation college grad and ball in dentistry.
I have been in business school, law school, med school. Amongst my peers (this isn't science, just my life of people I know), if you look at years spent/money made etc:
1) Business school grads make $
2) Lawyers
3) Docs.
You have to realize by the time I /your sis finish fellowship, our contemporaries are partners at Law Firms.
I dont know much about Meth Law schools. I graduated Stanford Law and worked at Skadden Arps for a year. My contemporaries at Skadden are making 900-2M a year.

I felt more like a bitch in fellowship than in residency. I took a paycut (if you can believe it) in fellowship. My residents (people I was teaching were making more than me), pretty sadly hilarious

Well, it's not really body-building. Everyone I've consulted has said I'm very deficient in protein. But, then again, I do not believe consuming massive quantities of it is great for my health long-term either. Personal belief.

Schwartz is a staple you just have to go if you visit Montreal. Good choice!
As you said, money made is only good in the context of where it is made. $18K would make you absolutely rich in many places in the world, and poor in others.
Enjoy! Business school grads from my school were all making about 150K/year (2-3 years out) when I was in LS. They are all making 500K+ these days.

Hey whatever works for you. At any rate, you don't need to be all muscles to be healthy.
Heck on the edges of Quebec near the atlantic, you can get fish for next to nothing. Trout never goes under $23/kilo (~$10.45/pound) here. :-(

Definitely miss it..need to go back. Loved how European even most people's automotibe choices were
Look at the salary of the guys in Wall Street coming from top 5 business schools It maybe more
I am just talking about people I know, and graduated with.
I graduated from a crappier business school (Haas)
Also in a high tax place, 500k isn't that much (I mean it relatively). Like Pediatric GI here in Los ANgeles makes 800-1.5M easy. My mom just hired a 32 year old from Univ of Chicago for her practice, with a starting salary of 450k, with 100k signing bonus.

By old town do you mean Old Port? It's great, but they're definitely trying to make the tourists part with their money over there.
I hope you weren't too deceived by the "underground city". Always surprised when people want to see that, it's a bunch of malls interconnected by tunnels and other little shops.
We do have a good amount of european vehicles, american cars have lost their appeal as europeans and asian cars have progressed. GM isn't able to really follow the trend so that's no surprise. You guys down south are the only ones keeping it alive...
