What specialty are you wagon? proctologist?
Any time! If you stop in Montreal and you want a great poutine, go to "La Banquise". Too often ignored by tourists but definitely the place to go for a poutine.
By old town do you mean Old Port? It's great, but they're definitely trying to make the tourists part with their money over there.
I hope you weren't too deceived by the "underground city". Always surprised when people want to see that, it's a bunch of malls interconnected by tunnels and other little shops.
We do have a good amount of european vehicles, american cars have lost their appeal as europeans and asian cars have progressed. GM isn't able to really follow the trend so that's no surprise. You guys down south are the only ones keeping it alive...

Old town/Old port not sure. It was the cobble stone area, and very "artsy"
My brother in Law is from Windsor. Always told me about Poutine. Had it in montreal..I just don't get it. Just doesn't taste great to me.
I lvoed the little cafes..where in the glass you can see them make crepes..and then you eat it upstairs....very personal..
I think the reason people like the underground city..is on this side you don't see many of it. So people wonder "what is going on underground."
Same way when I saw my first basement in med school. I was like what people live in underground without windows? Its a revelation if you are from LA..where you think everyone has a Bentley and world is full of sunshine.
What I loved is the wagons/hatchbacks. Given I am a fan of both, it was welcome.
It was also nice to see people actualy using winter tires (maybe by law, but i dont know)
Why, need an exam? I volunteer with Doctors without Borders few months out of the year, in some parts of the world, I have to be a proctologist, cardiologist, and pediatrician all in the same day.
In the US, I am a licensed neonatologist.

@Haas being a shitty biz school.. It was top 3 back in the day which would have been about the time you graduated.

My further point was, if I used my business degree or my JD, I would be be a lot WEALTHIER. Which is different than income.
Though my income is high now, I have 12 years of net negative income (med school, residency, fellowship).
In those 12 years, either at SKadden or a Wall Street firm I would be able to amass wealth, which I didn't do.
Yes it was highly ranked, when I graduated

Yeah I will hit you up, cuz you are local, and I prefer local things.

There's a good amount of these little restaurants and cafes and they're all lovely.
Winter tires are obligatory here now, so it depends when you last came, but even then most people had them already. We get too much snow for even the best 4 seasons to get by.
Never was a fan of hatches and wagons, but many people are here.
Old port then, cobblestone everywhere. Poutine is only great if you're having a great one. Too many places making their own poutine and turns out not so good.

Maybe I did't have the right Poutine. I am wiling to try again.
How expensive is real estate there? LIke for a normal family of 4, middle class, good schools, low crime, 2K sq feet house, what would be the price?
I came a few times in 2009/2010.
One time we stayed at a hotel, had a second story pool above the car park area. So as you pulled in, if you looked up, you saw people swimming....

On Montreal island for a house with 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms lowest would be around $400K. Generally decent around $500-550K. Outside of Montreal island you can pay half the price for something similar.
You can look around on Centris.ca or MLS.ca to find general pricing information. Ironically, I am in the real estate business as an IT guy. Keeping the company I work for a secret though, shhhhh.

Either that, or you have some peeps who are lying a bit about their salary. I was pulling in $60K 3 years out of school and I graduated in 2001...and I thought that was pretty decent.

Seriously, I know I was not THE hardest working kid in college but WTF...what skoo does 2012wagonboi's friends go to? Or do they have friends in super high places?!??
$200K within 2-3 years is farking impressive...I mean, if you're a crack developer for Google, Microsoft, you can earn that...but, with a business degree? I dunno man...I dunno. That or I'm not with the times here.

Seriously.. I decided against B-school because of the price tag / ROI. 2 years + $250K in debt for USC... But if they're making 500K, that 250K debt would be obliterated..

I didn't say 60K wasn't decent. I was saying what I was offered and what I saw guys who make.
However of all professions, my B school friends have been unable to hold on to a lot of money. Coke and whores ruin the income

If one goes to Cal State Northridge and business degree, you will make 55k in LA. If you go to Wharton and get on the street, you aint making 55K.
Most of the people I went to B school with (doesn't apply to me), were all jewish and had connections in wall street firms.
Which is why when I was a kid, I wanted to be two things:
1) White
2) Jewish
Cuz they run the world.
Hedge fund guys with no MBA...pulling in quite a bit of money.
Also lots of physicians have 200-300k debt, and making $500k a year, and the debt isn't oblierated. Due to when they start their life, family, kids. Now if you lived on top ramen in downtown LA for 5 years and paid it off, that is different, but that isn't the norm, from what I see.
Real estate is pretty cheap right now. It's a world of condos, though.

OH yeah... forgot about the whole "life happens" nonsense.. forget it, quite paper chasing, just live the life you've got and be happy with the cards that are dealt to you.

When I was in HS...I thought if I made a 100k I would be in a super exotic. Then when I made my first 100k, I realized what it meant... sigh.
Your highlited response above, sums up my life and outlook. You said it very eloquently actually.
I wasted 4 years of my life chasing paper and trying to get a 355 with Tubi or a 575. Then I realized what made me happy and it wasn't chasing paper.
Being happy with what you do is very important. When I was a resident making 36K, I was a lot happier than my friends making 800K.
I am still relatively poor compared to lots of people I went to school with. I would say I am in the bottom 5%. That said, I am happier than all of those mother fuckers with yatchs and who are on their 3rd wife.
Or maybe I justify "my happiness" and not having their money...by thiking and fooling myself that I am happy?
Who knows.....
But when a 500g baby...that was almost dying..I can see in the 1st grade..and their parents come by and lets me meet them now..to me THAT is worth it.and I do what I do...
I would do it for free....and if you look at my life pattern..where I could be (Paper wise) and where I am...essentially I spent many years paying others..to let me follow my passion....

Well, I rolled with mostly engineers and a couple of accountants. So, excluding the engineers I know and talking about the business school grads, of the ones who "made it"...most are topping at around $220K...tops. And that's as a Director of Finance or Controller at some major organization.
I know no one in the hedge fund business and again, maybe the caliber of people I know just don't get hired by those finance companies out west or in the east...no one I know is an exec-type at Morgan Stanley and etc. Sure, I know peeps at PwC or Deloitte but those are accounting firms and they work you to the bone and not much more than what I take in working in industry. At mid-30s age, most are not yet close to making partner...maybe in another few years if they can bring in some heavy-hitting contracts.
So, 2012wagonboi...you run with some impressive people.
I'm not worthy.
Going to take my robots and play in a poorer and dumber sandbox nao.

I don't equate $ with impressive. That is just me. Which is why my secretary asked why I sold a brand new Lexus for a used Acura.
BUt all the guys I were talking about were all Wall Streeters or Hedge Fund guys.
My most "impressive" person is my cousin a Peds Hemonc . Makes 80K on a good year. Deals with heartbreaking children with cancer.... gives 50% of her earnings to cancer centers around the world for resarch... lives with 3 other people sho she can afford rent, and drives a late 80s Corolla FX16 hatchback.
Money doesn't define who you are. Character is what defines you..what would you do when no one is looking...

So why did Acura switch to the 5x120 on the 4th gen TL?
I really like the 19s on that 4th gen TL...
Anyone know?
