Speaking of booze and the Japanese.. I went to Hawaii back in August and tried Sushi Izakaya Gaku. My friends and I ate omakase at the bar and it was amazing. They had this AMAZING yuzu sake/shochu that I was trying to look for since I came back.. I finally decided to just give them a call and ask them directly.. Turns out it's iichiko yuzu liqueur .

I don't usually drink that much but damn did i love this stuff..Also the sushi at that place was TOP NOTCH. highly recommend it if anyone goes out to Honolulu.

Also: I had some fucking delicious Mexican food for dinner. I'm used to amazing LA mexican food but surprised that South Florida had some pretty good stuff:

Tacos de pato (duck tacos):

Guacamole morita con chiccarones (fried pork rinds):

Los Tacos By Chef Omar - Pembroke Pines, FL | Yelp

I usually get their al pastor tacos (because i'm a fucking sucker for pineapple) but decided on a whim to try the duck tacos because this restaurant said it was a special on their facebook page.. It did not disappoint. So juicy and moist

Foodie here as well.

No free food here (except for hospital free food), but I get to out and give lots of lectures/talks (JD/MD helps here), so when I go to places like HI etc for free, it saves me enough $$, that I can spend personal $$ on food, even if allowance doesn't cover it all

Awesome man!!

And I'm a rocket scientist for NASA, found a cure for cancer while, oddly enough, harnessing cold fusion as a reliable and safe source of energy, play defence for the Patriots (only on weekends though), and won several Grammies and academy awards (more just a hobby of mine, to be honest). Also, Tony Stark is my poor butler.

I also traded in my Pagani huarya for my 3G TL, because it made more sense. What can I say.

Sorry, but until you show some proof, I'm going to have to call bullshit. Love you!

^^ funny guy. You "believing me" isn't really my concern. However, if you have a pregnant woman, and are in greater Los Angeles in need of treatment, I would be happy to admit you to a hospital of my choosing.

Thanks! I won't profess to being a cognac expert as much as I am with scotch...but, I'll have to look it up. Never heard of it before. Hopefully not hard to procure locally.

Ah. I typically enjoy rum with a soda. Otherwise, straight-up liquors are cognac and whiskey only. Both are great in the evening as I'm winding down...

Have you picked up any whiskey stones? They do a nice job of cooling down your scotch/whiskey without watering it down...give it a try if you haven't.

It's gone up a bit but it's around $50-60. I bought a bottle for my buddies 35th. He's not a whiskey / cognac / scotch drinker. But I said, what the hell, he is today. He was like.. smooth.. cough.

It's a sipper obviously.. lol.. very rich flavors and nice finish. You can honestly take a couple sips and still be enjoying it 5-10 minutes later. I pour a glass and enjoy it for a good hour. You also can't be rice and not have a bottle of Hennessey XO. Price has jumped considerably though.. 10-15 years ago I could get it on sale for 100-110.. It's like 200 now. I have 3 bottles of Camus XO that have been with the family for 35 years now. Not really pricey but no one wants to open them at this point.

I can't drink some whiskeys without ice. In fact, they're judging whiskeys on how it changes when exposed to water / ice. It causes a reaction and opens itself up. They say it only takes a drop.. whatever, I drink it quick on the rocks. More.. party time. My Korean brosefs drink it like it's water. Had them over for xmas get together, they drank my two bottles of whiskey and imperia vodka.. walked out straight, didn't know they drank all my booze til after.

This isn't Alberta, man. The inbreds are on the east side.

Also my brother had a stupid friend he met on FB through one of his friends, a blonde girl who believed almost anything he said. My brother name is David by the way.

Twas the year of Pats vs Giants and my brother and I are having wings drinking some beer and he made that friend believe he was Tom Brady through texting. Whenever he'd check his wrist band he would text her telling her he could only text between plays and to look at the TV for him for #12. She knows nothing to football obviously. He tells her his real name is David Tom Brady, but people would call him David outside of football.

So this goes on for a while, she's not sure if she should believe him until he tells her he's gonna wave at her when he gets a second and not a minute after camera focuses on Brady who does a hand motion that kinda looks like a wave at the camera problably to signal one of the guys. I fucking lost it when she texted back all impressed, saying she told her grandpa who was watching with her she knew Tom Brady.

When the Pats lost, she texted him she was still proud of him and "Congratulations for your Super Bowl" as a terrible pick me up.
God we laughed for so long and still do every once in a while.

K, thanks. I'll look it up next time I'm on a liquor run to restock the fridge and cabinet.

Actually, I do not have any cognac XOs at the moment.

But, to your point, my FiL has about 5 XOs in his cabinet on display...not opened. MIB as I call them.

The bum comes over and drinks all my JW Blue but refuses to open his...and that is also on display with the cognacs. Just find it amusing...

I haven't really paid attention to the prices but I know you can get a Remy Martin for about $160ish here and it's a pretty good bottle. Still, probably as a retirement thing or if I get a nice bonus, I'll have to get the king...Louis XIII de Rémy Martin. Just gotta cough up $2K+. But, that bottle is just...gorgeous.

And like most , Koreans and alcohol come in two types: ones that can drink like a fish and ones that takes one sip and they are gone for the night.
