They are probably checking into the legalities of it to make sure they are not exposing themselves to some kind of issue they are not aware of, given it is a key thing. Dont see a problem personally...but you never know. It never hurts to cover your self...and I am sure that is all they are doing. The way it is being proposed though...there is no actual key made until a licensed person gets ahold of it though, so its not a big deal....but they may be seeking consultation to be sure. Just a guess...

Just ordered a blank from my local Acura dealer...shows 90 available in system now. He said they showed on backorder last week but now show available at 90 each in stock. Mine should be here tomorrow. $35.64 or something like that. Done. You will be having another one coming your way soon!

I just got the word...

It's official... I'm a vendor!!!!

Soopa... your key is free. PM me the details and I'll send one out to you.

Folks...

First of all... a big Thank You for being patient!!!!

I will ask you to be patient for just a day or two more. I need to finalize a couple things and then I'll open the flood gates.

Then I will make an official post with everything you ever wanted to know about getting a key made up (and probably a lot of stuff you won't care about).

Maybe it can be a sticky.

Pricing is as follows...

$45.00 for me to cut your key.
Just for clarity... You ship me your key and I charge you $45.00
Shipping is extra (unless you send me a return label) but no hidden charges. Whatever it costs me to ship... that's what you pay.

If you want a key already made up (I buy the key, machine it and ship it to you).
The cost is $95.00 and shipping to the continental US is included.

I still have everyone on the list and no one has or will be forgotten.

Thanks again for everyones support.

I'll go out of my way to ensure that you get a precision machined key of the highest quality.

Pete

Quick question, how are you going to charge us? So we don't send you payment first and then send it? So I guess you mean that you will basically "hold our key hostage" until we send you money through paypal or something?

Actually that's not a bad idea.

Sorry... you'd paypal me and then ship me your key. You're protected via paypal and of course... I'd like to stay in business so you can be assured that you'll get what you've paid for.

He is not cutting the key for the car, he is cutting the key so it can be cut like a standard key. You would need to buy the 07 fob and send it to him. Once he has it, it will be cut to look like a blank you would buy at the dealer. Then he would ship it back. Once you get it back, you would need to get it cut for the car and the transponder programed to the car. Hope that helps.

man....how bad do I want this key!?!?!

At a minimum, the key costs $40 (with tax) + $45 for FLBusa to cut + $30-$60 to get it programmed = $115 - $145. Since I can't get my hands on a key in NYC, it is looking more like an extra $10 on top of this.

I was really hoping it would work out cheaper..... for getting it to work though. You should be making ALOT of money at $45 a pop!

I better decide soon, I think I should be 3rd on your list according to you last PM to me.

Actually... I wish I got to keep the entire $45.00. There's a lot more to it than just popping out a key... and there's a lot of work and expense that I've already incurred without having made a dime. Not to mention that Uncle Sam's going to get his cut as well.

Ultimately you'll have to make the decision on your own. I'll be there for ya either way.

BTW... a replacement key for an '04-'06 TL is $45.00... the remote is $95.00. That's $140.00 and you haven't even gotten it cut and programmed yet.
If you get a good deal in cutting/programming then your only talking $20 more than a replacement fob for your existing key.

That price is LESS than a dealer will charge you to replace your current crappy 04-06 key/fob. You should "find a way" to afford this...

I ordered the key a few days ago, called the dealer I wanted it shipped to (A of Westchester) and they were like Huh? The eStore? like eBay - HOLY CRAP what a schmuck... anyway they have no clue what I'm talking about and want me to fax over a confirmation page (which i saved after reading a similar comment). This pisses me off... oh well nothing I can do about it but sit on my ass and wait.

BTW, FLBusa - I have one thing to say to you! CONGRATS ON OFFICIAL VENDOR STATUS BUDDY!
