Canadian TL to get XM in 2007

Beginning this fall, all 2007 Acura MDX and TL models will come standard with factory-installed XM Canada satellite radios with three months' complimentary XM Canada service. Honda Canada will expand the availability of XM Canada across the Honda and Acura lineup over the next few years.

my lease had to run out in 06 =/

Chriscam19, with all due respect, we have moderators to dictate this stuff. Nothing irritates senior members more than a new guy coming in and making demands. Bob addressed the OT issue, that will be all, thanks. If you don't want emails, go to your account settings and turn off the email notification feature.

Here's an update from vtec.net about models for year 2007. Its usually a credible source of information... Seems like they hint at a Type-S for the TL...

Even Audi has leaked images and specs of the 2008 A4's... I cant figure the logic behind being so discreet. If they had good things lined up for the 07 TL's, then releasing tempting info would mean potential buyers (me included) would "wait it out" for the release. But darn they're really pushing the privacy envelope here.

Maybe they'd rather you buy an 06 that's sitting on a lot...think about it.

why would you wanna buy an 06 KNOWING there's a new model on the verge of release especially when all of their competition is coming out with newer products with fancier features.... thinking about it

moreover, if I was to buy an 06, wouldn't it make more sense to wait it out till the 07 is out and get an 06 at a discounted price ?

I think you're getting it, but come at it from a corporate (Honda) perspective as my original post did...THEY want you to buy an 06...you won't if the 07 that comes out in six months is so much better. They can sell 06's now no problem, but if word got out the 07 was that much better, they'd have to discount the 06 big time ON TOP OF the fact that they'll still sit on lots (ie. less profit and more inventory). Keeping the 07's details under wraps seems like smart business stategy to me.

so the other 90+% of car makers are makin a huge mistake afterall and only Honda has all of Peter Drucker's principals to the "T"

If that was the case, why worry about the 2007 models, why not hold it all back even until the 2009 models are out since eventually even the 07's will be gathering dust on the lots

And its not just the automobile industry.... leaking precious info keeps potential clients on the list..... case and point... PS3

You have a problem seeing the big picture, don't you? The others are playing catch up...the TL has out sold all of them for 3 years. This is why they are touting their new models; they're chalking up the 06's, writing it off, cutting their losses...they're laying the ground work to try to unseat the TL...they aren't concerned about 06's. Honda, on the other hand is king of the hill...06's are selling like hot cakes...there's no need to create a need to discount them this early in the year. Plus, it doesn't matter how much you know about all of the other cars for 07...none of them are on the lot! By the time any of them are, the info on the 07 TL will be available...and then you can choose to buy one of them or wait a few weeks for a new TL.

I dont have a problem seeing the big picture, I just have a problem seeing your logic, which I will believe IS the reason Honda / Acura are doing it when I read something official from the Honda Marketing division.

In any event... to each his own...

Let's just say I posted what I felt wasn't right on their part and you shared your opinion on how you felt they were.

Bottom line, I, like the rest on here would love to see what the 07s will be coming out with.

Folks-

It gives me great pain to even write this- so I am posting under not my real name- ( you'll inderstand why in a moment)
However- the 2007 CAMRY IS OUT- and in is like 15 HP more than the 06 TL.

Whether or not Acura will admit it- the CAMRY will be taking away sales from the TL- UNLESS the 2007 TL becomes available quickly...

Mark my words

Camry will always take sales away from the TL, on price alone. $5K minimum difference...

It's a big 3.5L engine strapped to an econobox body. The TL is an entry level luxury car inside and out. The Camry's heavier than the TL (manual) too, so there goes the real HP difference.
Look at the spy photos of the new Camry... Yuck.

If it's all about raw HP, you should have bought an STi or EVO...

After all, it is still... just a Camry.

The new Camry is an attractive car. We have a 1998 and it's been a far better car than the TL we have (2002). The "just a Camry" might mean "just a better car", as in our case. It's far, far from an econobox body.

When will 2007 spy shots be out? Is it anyone's guess?

No... It's not the #1 selling car in America for no reason. The Camry is the definition of econobox... I'm glad you like it, but it's not particularly attractive. It's but rather bland, much like all Japanese econboxes...

I'm not denouncing it as a bad car, it's just comparing apples to oranges. The only similarity is the HP output and Japanese origin.

Back on topic.

instead of picking on 10 ~ 15 hp ..... can you really feel the difference ?? TL offer a engine which is already powerful enough to please most ppl ( unless u drive evo or sti before the TL ) ... i think acura should work on their rattle problems, driving quality and increasing of hp together.... and maybe few new tech. goodies as well. after all......... why do u need all those hp for ?? how many of u actually race random cars everyday in ur life ?? ( then u have too much time )

Cool

Neuron Bob and I have both asked you folks to keep to the thread topic.

If you want to spin off a discussion about other makes/models/years, then start a thread on that topic in the proper forum.

If you continue getting off the track, we're going to start deleting the posts.

It's not about the other cars; it's about being in the proper forum/thread.

Thanks.

IDK - It sort of IS about other cars in this case. People have to make purchase decisions and Acura isn't helping. There's many people like us that have been waiting for 'real' news of the '07 TL as we need to make a purchase quickly. Sadly, due to the lack of '07 info, we're going to look at the new Camry in the next day or so. At this point, the lack of TL info is rubbing us the wrong way and it's looking like we'll be buying the Camry over waiting for god knows how long for info to come out about mythical changes we may not even like. I think Acura at 'this' point, with the Camry and others now available, would do well to at least throw us a bone here.

Wow...
The new Camry redesign was not a suprise, there was press data out a few months ago.
I still just went for the 2006 TL. These two cars are not on the same plane...
The Camry is competing with the new accord.

You've seen spy photos of the 2007 TL, and we have a few suspocions. What you'll particularly note is there is NO SIGNIFICANT changes in the TL.
If you think the new camry is superior, the 07 is not gonna change your mind... Go get your econobox

I've just heard the '09 TL will get the new '07 MDX V6 engine. It will offer around 295HP. And the '07 TL will have 280HP.

where did u hear this from ???
280 from a 3.2 liter ?? ..... sound like the current NSX output.... that'll be sweet
so the 09 TL is gonna be a 3.5 liter..... 295hp... y not make it 300hp then.... i really hope acura don't mess up the look of the new TL .... current TL is so hot.....

However- the 2007 CAMRY IS OUT- and in is like 15 HP more than the 06 TL.

Whether or not Acura will admit it- the CAMRY will be taking away sales from the TL- UNLESS the 2007 TL becomes available quickly...

Mark my words
i like how you registered just to post that and then leave. whether or not acura will admit camry will take away sales from the tl? what about toyota? the camry is gonna take away sales from their own avalon as well as the ES. the camry is still a japanese buick.

I think Acura at 'this' point, with the Camry and others now available, would do well to at least throw us a bone here.
the tl is only 2 years old. they are not going to "throw you a bone" about something that isn't even going to come out for a few more years.

If they make too big a deal about the '07s, then no one would buy the '06s!

2007 Tl

I was just speaking to someone that works at Honda's Canadian head office...
He said that the plan at Honda for the next few years is to make ALL the Acura's AWD like the RL and that there is going to be another car added to the line up that will be above the RL. The TL will have minimal changes for 2007, but will still have the same body shape. It sounds like the 2009 TL will be AWD, that timing would be good for me... my 2004 should be paid off by then
