Is there an age requirement to get a loaner? Last time I stopped at Acura to get a tranny leak fixed they wouldnt provide me with a loaner because I was 23 at the time and they said I have to be 25. I was pretty annoyed because Lexus gave my gf a loaner when she took her car in and she's only 21

Yes, 25 is the minimum age. However, most dealerships will forgo this and still lend out a vehicle if you're not 25 depending on availability & the job being done. I just turned 22 and they gave me a brand new 2012 tl sh-awd as a loaner. I requested it. No problems at all.

got my notice (2008 TL-S) a few weeks ago and scheduled it for yesterday at 8:30am. got a 12 tsx loaner, not really impressed, but did flog as much as possible.
got car back at 5pm and they washed it, but did a terrible job. vacummed it though, which it needed. steering does feel a little "heavy", but not sure if I was just used to tsx or not.
I looked bay over before going in and the hose was wet near the pump. So glad I got it done. pretty painless overall. hope the interior warranty is just as painless, but its not looking like it will be as smooth of a transaction...

Finally got my TL in for the recall. Dropped it off tonight and I'm gonna pick it up tomorrow afternoon, so they gave us TL loaner non SH-AWD . The Acura dealership was also a Mercedes dealership and it was hard walking through the showroom. lol
This is the first time I've seen the redesign in person and it actually isn't that bad. The front looks a lot better with the toned down grill. The car looks really good from some angles, but from others it looks pretty bad.
The interior is really nice. Definitely better than the 3g TL in terms of feel and tech. The leather is also really soft. With only 2k on the car it looks brand new.
All that said, I don't think I would ever buy the car. For the price there are a few other cars I would choose over it.

Canadians got a recall notice yet?
Have any Canadians had this recall done yet? Last I checked with Acura Canada they still said they had no notice of it.

Update
Report Date : October 1, 2012 at 01:24 PM
NHTSA Campaign ID number : 12V222000
Vehicle Make / Model: Model Year(s):
ACURA / TL 2007-2008
HONDA / ACCORD 2003-2007
Manufacturer: HONDA (AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO.) Report Receipt Date: MAY 17, 2012
NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 12V222000 NHTSA Action Number: N/A
Component: STEERING:HYDRAULIC POWER ASSIST:HOSE, PIPING, AND CONNECTIONS
Potential Number of Units Affected: 625,762
Summary:
Honda is recalling certain model year 2007 and 2008 Acura TL and model year 2003-2007 Accord V6 vehicles. In May 2012, Honda filed a defect report to recall certain model year 2007 and 2008 Acura TL vehicles. In September 2012, Honda informed the agency that it was including an additional 573,147 vehicles including certain model year 2003 through 2007 Accord V6 vehicles. The total number of vehicles being recalled is now 625,762. Prolonged under-hood and power steering fluid temperatures may cause the power steering hose to deteriorate prematurely, resulting in cracks and power steering fluid leakage.
Consequence:
If this occurs, power steering fluid can leak onto a hot catalytic converter, leading to smoke and possibly an under-hood fire.
Remedy:
Honda will notify owners, and dealers will install a new heat resistant power steering hose, free of charge. The original recall began in June 2012, and owners of those vehicles may obtain the free remedy. Sufficient parts are not yet available for owners of the vehicles covered by the September 2012 expansion, but are expected to be available in early 2013. Honda will notify owners of these vehicles beginning on October 26, 2012, and will notify these owners again when parts are available so those vehicles can be brought to dealers for applications of the free remedy. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-800-999-1009.
Notes:
Honda's recall campaign number for the original recall is S39. Honda's recall numbers for the additional vehicles are S59 (Inspection) and S60 (Remedy). Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

I'm a little confused about this recall. I have an 07 base model, which I bought as a CPO in Sept. 2010. At that time I was told that if there were any outstanding recalls for the car, that they are fixed as part of the CPO process. As I understand it, the first recall for this problem was issued in 2008. When I went to myacura.com (where I had previously registered) to check for the recall, it says
Description 2004 - 2008 TL Power Steering Hose
Type Recall customer letter
Status Fixed
So it looks to me that my car was part of the earlier recall, and was fixed by the time I bought it.
Is my assumption correct?

you can also go out to your car and check out the PS hose. the new hoses have heavier duty clamps and a silver heat shield hose wrapped around them.
previous hoses before the recall were just straight black tubing with no silver sleeve.

I supposedly had my TL checked at 35k miles when I bought it.. But this week, it's been feeling stiff when cold, and I noticed a weird noise when I tried to turn quickly at a slow speed. I think the power steering unit may be trying to go bad. But I have not noticed anything leaking. 67k miles now
