Just wanted to get some opinions on which one I should go with. And found some wings on EBAY for $120 painted. I just got my 08 Base NBP TL and wanted to do add some style to it. Thanks.

the TL-S trunk lip is going to be over 300 bones just FYI if you go OEM.

you can get a regular lip off of ebay for about 80-100. non oem of course.

 

I would say get the lip because that's what I like, but some people like Rockstar can really pull off the wing.

I'm debating the same, they both look good, but i think i'm going for the wing. I think you really need to like the way it looks with it.

Can you actually get replicas of that? From what I understand its only the base lip on ebay unless you want to pay for the real thing.

OP- Its you're car. Look at some pics, get what you like. I've been trying to make the same decision. Lips are by far the most popular choice. Plus you can add a roof spoiler too. wing + roof spoiler would probably be a bit much.

Uhh I don't remember Base TL's coming with a trunk lip. Wing, yes, but not a trunk lip.

 

where can i find a TYPE S spoiler? i have been looking around for a month now and the dealer is asking 685$ for it which i think is ridiculous. is there anything that i can find in the 300 range?

 

Its an accessory just like the wing. Still in the official acura catalog. $399 MSRP lol. Then the type S came out and had the lip for $99 for a short while before it got bumped too. From what I've read they're different.

I'd say the lip but that's MY opinion. Get what YOU like because in the end, it's YOUR car. I get all my OEM style spoilers for my cars at www.elitespoilers.com. They also have an ebay store under the same name which u can bid/buy the spoilers painted cheaper than off their own site. I like suttle add-ons like the lip spoiler and/or even the non-type S front lip. Keep us posted on what you get bro.

 

I don't like the lip, only you notice it or we (especially on dark color TLs)
Like the wing, matches the bumper design, flows with the car + not many have it

Not a fan of the Type-S lip on 04-06 or base, I don't know, it looks different to me

I would just buying a M3 style lip and slap them on, Type S is pricey and you have to drill/cut your trunk in order to fit the dam thing. Many member here has M style lip and it looking good as the Type S not too many people will notice the differences between the two.

 

You and Rockstar sold me with the wings. I found OEM painted ones at CarId for about 180-200. Let me know where you guys got yours.

by the way, oem ones has spring or something for the trunk, so it doesn't shut too fast because of the weight of the wing
ebay doesn't have it, but I'm ok with it..not that heavy

 

I personally would go with the lip because I'm more conservative and I think it looks great with the roof spoiler. But if you like the look I say go for the wing and be a little more unique than everyone else!

I would do neither- both devices don't improve aerodynamics are are just an extra item to worry about that adds no real value to the car.

The TL has such good lines that the wing gets in the way of those lines- reminds me of a 1990's Pontiac. The lips are so subtle but still attract thieves ripping them off. The roof spoilers are nice, but also attract thieves. I would use the savings to personalize the interior: LED lights, nav/dvd update, sound, etc.

 

In your color and year OP go decklid lip.

Now if you had an 04-05, I feel the wing spoiler appears so much better partly due to the rear taillights and when a-spec body kit is added looks really nice.

For my car, I plan to get the wing spoiler just to stand out a bit more than other TLs but than again I already stand out since not too many Redondo Red Pearl colors are on the road.

I debated this for the longest time. I couldn't decide if I wanted a wing or lip. So it just came down to this. I had a spoiler on my old car which was a Pontiac so on this one I am going none and save money.

 

Your Type-S comes with a spoiler or it should have come with one....
