Do update in your VL2 unit. After a reboot it should be enable. Heres video how to setup BT for WAA.

VLine 2 Android Auto

I do not have the unit. Told the company I wasn’t going to buy until they listed it as a feature on their site beforehand.

LOL, they just released the update today. Will probably take awhile before they update their website. Trust me, it's working on the RLX. I've been waiting for WAA forever. You can order. I've been using VL2 for over 6 months now without a single issue. Super stable, even more so than on my previous Lexus.

VLine2 Wireless Android Auto

They didn’t give me too much hope. I chatted with them about a month ago. They said they wanted to wait till they upgraded the OS to Android 10.

So. I put all my extra cash I could muster into Gold and Silver. So I’ll have to delay it another couple months.

Glad to know they listened.

Congrats dude! You'll love it.
I noticed they raise the price by $50.
It's $650 now. I got both my unit for $569. Kinda steep for what it does.

GROM VLine 2

You have to realize there’s a chip shortage now. The unit has upgraded hardware and new features in the software. It also has new planned features coming that will make use of these upgrades.

It’s much cheaper than being aggravated enough to purchase an inferior car just for the telematics.

My 2020 SH just got the ability to compete in this area with newer vehicles.

I’ll do the install once I learn all the details about it.

Yeah, I hated the OEM infotainment. Absolutely a piece of crap. I'm 100% completely happy with VLine2 and now with Wireless Android Auto, I'm 110% happy.
If you need any details about the installation, just read my How-To above. Or post up questions I'll try to answer them.

I was thinking about this upgrade, but i am weighing if it is worth the price tag. Not in my car long enough during the week to realistically enjoy the options, I use usb for my favorite music... travel to the beach once a year to even consider using waze or any other travelling app. My days of watching videos while driving are behind me now, I think I just talked myself out of it LOL. Now if there was something on the market for a bigger navi screen like the newer Acura line up, I would be all over it!!

If you are concerned about the price and balance with use, I’d temper it with how long you intend to own the car.

I intend on keeping mine for 10-15 years if it will last so it’s a small cost for the convenience that it brings to the ride/drive.

Can't deny I love having options, keeping my eye on it.

I downloaded firmware 0.31 last night. It has completely resolved all the freezes and random reboots I was having in my new unit, purchased about three weeks ago.

Yup .31 is a keeper. I was having random WAA disconnect with all previous firmware. This new firmware has been rock solid. Tested it by getting in and out of my car many times. Reconnect flawlessly each time.

"I'm thinking of initiating a request to GROM for a way to get 360 video without the extra step after I get the new unit and complete all the software setup. Maybe if they get enough requests they will improve the 360 camera situation. When driving and you suddenly find yourself wanting added visibility, it is a nuisance to have to hit two buttons."

As of today is this still an issue with the 360 camera video? Have they resolved having to hit two buttons? I would be very interested in getting this if they have. Thanks for any info you guys can provided.

GROM VL2 Updated

Hi

Everyone needs to update the firmware.....then the software on their VLine 2 units. There's been a major update to Android 12 and the Android Auto interface is completely different. I now believe that Android phones are completely wifi for phone, video, and sound now. Test it out for yourself and post here so everyone can hear about the results.

@Triaque Where did you see GROM Vline2 updating to Android 12. I just refresh update on my GROM unit, nothing is available to download. I don't see anything posted on their forum neither. Still on Android 8.1 with Jan 2019 security patch...very old I'm glad they're updating to Android 12 to give our unit some security and more life.

So I sent GROM suupport asking about Android 12 update. They said they're working on it without any ETA at this time. But expect to have it ready in 1-2 months!

Did you guys see this? Saw it posted on tov. It’s for the Accord but naturally my mind went to our beloved RLX. I really hope Honda can retrofit carplay for us.

I doubt Acura will retrofit our RLX. The screen is not touch-screen and the hardware is probably not capable of running AA/CP. Why not just install GROM VL2? It's so easy to install and works flawlessly. I'm really happy with it.
