If it turns out well I'll start making them for people.
C-mod grille. Don't hate me but I got it for $25 on ebay shipped and painted gloss black. Then I put the Mugen emblem on.
I got it used from somebody. It was a steal, especially since it was already painted.
Lol you had to bring back the bad memories and mention the lip
Haha no hard feelings though, I'm pretty sure it was installed and broken before you were around.
I'm not putting any more money into the bumper since it's scratched up and worn from the Florida love bugs. When I graduate I'll have enough to buy the painted oem sports bumper. That's the plan moving forward.

Finally some progress!

Laser Cutting

Video
Unfortunately the laser couldn't cut all the way through... well it could, but we were getting significant burning, so we went ahead and etched the surface on the other side so I had a template to cut from.

This was after cutting. Still not done. Have to smooth out the edges/corners, then glue the pieces together, then bondo, then resin, THEN PAINT!

Sealing up the surfaces with resin!

Bonding the two pieces together! For those interested in doing fiberglass/resin work, I am using wax paper as base and green painters tape to hold the pieces together. Resin won't stick to those surfaces so I literally wrapped my piece together and built a wall for the resin to cure in the shape and depth I want. I also straightened some staples and emerged them to act as stiffeners LOL.

After curing!

Test FIT... I think it looks pretty good! (Stupid Mugen Emblem in the way LOL)

Everything is pretty centered! I will pat myself on the back for taking accurate measurements as I feel like everything flows pretty well i.e. parallelism, and angularity on the top and bottom portions of the bar.

OR
I'll keep the mugen grille and just buy another cmod grille and paint match that one. Not sure what I wanna do yet.
Also.. I already posted color pictures haha. It's the same pic but black and white. I just thought it looked cool.
Damn OP, you're one talented SOB! Car looks dope.
I wish I had a fraction of your skills man. I can buy shit and install it but I definitely couldn't create a "one of a kind" anything. Props to you.
Hopefully I'll see you around Orlando some time...maybe at the 'All FL' meet in May.

Makes me wanna finish my lip that I've stored away in the closet for so long.
ALSO.. Go knights! I'm in my last semester!
Primed!! I still see a few imperfections, so I'll touch those up and test fit again. I've ordered some chrome vinyl to wrap it in. I have a feeling my wrapping skillz are gunna be tested with so many sharp angles.

Also.. installed my LED reverse lights (thanks opboarding for the reccomendation). Photo via gopro.

Yeah because when you sand it again, all the low spots will still show the primer, then you can put more bondo on the areas that need it.
I skipped showing yall the bondo pictures cause I figured it was too boring..
Plus if I can't wrap it correctly then it'll be ready for rattle can chrome paint.

The only reason paint is my second option is because chrome spray paint doesn't look nearly as good as REAL chrome from factory. If wrapped correctly the chrome vinyl should look just as good as REAL chrome.
