Ssjoeboe9's Development Thread
Alright finally finished my small exterior mods and the car looks semi clean.
Whats changed:
White CF wrap 1 spoke on each wheel
White CF wrap fog light area (stripes and accent dimples)
Black Plastidip front center bumper
White plastidip front accent lines leading to center bumper.
Glossy door pillars
What I like most: the white accents including the plastidip and wrapping the wheel are virtually unnoticeable, but if you stop and look it's visually appealing ( At least I think so)
Enjoy the pics

In college I worked with carbon fiber. Only it wasn't the lay on type, it was the type that you had to have a metal mold, vacuum seal, and put it in the autoclave for like 8 hours at crazy temperatures and really high pressure. It was hard to make anything and I'm sure cost a ton of money to run that autoclave each time.
Here is the current plan for the re-creation of the front lip... It'll be a learning process once again lol. And really, now that I think about it, I'll probably do my first trial of fiber glass mold on my back window. I have to create a new roof spoiler so why not start with an easy surface. I plan to use wax paper to do all of these molds. I heard that the fiberglass won't stick to it. Here is the rough sketch of the lip.
Not sure about the dimples, it was an afterthought.. at any rate it's all vinyl so I can peel it off if I decide to do something else.
So I was looking at other lip designs, you think I should try to include some kind of canard? Please post up any lip designs that may look good on our CU2's

^ Paint Match= expensive
Matching fog lights would prolly be $100
And I don't think I can do the GTR front, it looks way different on the sides where the fogs are, and that's the part I'm using the old lip to mold.

I miss the lip so much!!! Hopefully by end of summer I'll have something worth posting aside from vinyl and plastidipping.I just hate sitting idle so I like to play around with stuff that easily removable until I can get what I really want. I'm afraid to get anything painted by anyone else so I might drop off all my creations with you. Probably go through bao since his actual home is close to you.
I was thinking of getting the black grill from Comptech for my 10 PWP.What do you think? Also, I want to debadge my car. I have heard of using dental floss, but that did not work. Could I just carefully use a screwdriver? Thoughts? Thanks for anything!

Doin some work!!

So here is the run down.. the molds are still pretty flexible so I'm trying to make them more rigid, def adding more resin but wanted some input. I thought it might be good to epoxy some plastic honeycomb to the back, for support but not sure if I'll be able to find any around here. Another thought was to buy some small would chips and sprinkle it into the resin and pour onto the back of the mold (kinda like precipitant hardening if you will). So after I have it at a semi-rigid state I'll make a mold of the location on the bumper where the lip will be mounted, then connect the two pieces together. I figure this will give me MOAAR FLUSH which was a problem with the replica lip in the first place. Anyways, that's what's coming up in the next week. I will prolly have time to work on the roof spoiler as well so stay tuned for that! ANDD my next surfboard is almost repaired (enough to be hung a wall) so I'll be posting pics as make progress for anyone who is interested.
In other news, my stickers from Thailand came in today lol

I started on the roof spoiler... damn this thing is hard lol I'll post pics after work tomorrow. Too tired right now.
Yeah it could lead to that... but I'm only a one man team working 5-6 hours when I get off work. So the amount of time it would take me to make another would be wayy longer than you are willing to wait, and on top of that if I sold it for only $100 profit it would be like a $400 piece( granted that's about how much I eneded up paying for my lip after it was painted and installed). That's definitely not an appealing price haha
However... I will be doing carbon fiber eyelids if anyone is interested. Also, if someone is really serious, I can do a carbon fiber deck lid spoiler.

If you were local, and I actually had a good method of making it $100 seems pretty reasonable. I'm thinking for anyone who wants eyelids ~ $50 plus free shipping. Deck spoiler ~$130 no free shipping.
