Sorry to break up the slore-fest but I got a question for the real people...

I know it's a long shot, but does anyone have the Driver Side Garnish (#17) that they might be willing to part with for a price that won't make me cry? It's the plastic trim bit by the E-Brake handle that runs up the center console by the radio and ends up by the steering column.

I would like one for a science project but can't stomach paying dealer prices and eBay has come up short recently.

Anyone?

I don't remember, or just don't know, if there are different color options, but if so, really want the dark grey/silvery one.

Thanks LazyWeb!

It's cold AF in Switzerland right now. :shiver:
I love that hyloft rack and at that price, you can't go wrong. They extend to whatever length you need basically and can be made to accommodate obstacles on the walls like pipes and such.

I actually found a couple of wrecked cars being dismantled (semi) locally on Craigslist that I need to call up. But this is a good backup option as well. Thank you!

I love the new styling. I think it's a great sporty (looking) mid size SUV.

Hey guys!
First post here. I had a question about choosing a shock and strut/coilover for my 2009 TSX. I had search through the forum but I couldn't really find a set answer. Most of the posts deal with lowering a ride but I'm not really interested in that. My TSX has 252,### miles on it and one of my shocks are leaking, so I decided to replace all four OEM shocks and struts. Im still thinking on whether i should just stick with OEM through my dealer, or get an aftermarket part. If the latter, what would you guys recommend. This is my daily driver and I'm not looking to lower it. I dnarrowed it down to the KYB, Koni, and Tein (or OEM). II was leaning towards the Tein street advance since they were marginally cheaper compared to the koni and what I would save can go to the installation. Sorry for the long post but I just wanted advice from knowledgeable folks!
Cheers

I think all the aftermarket options will end up lowering your car. If you want to maintain stock height, OEM struts should be your pick.

Go with OEM. You could probably find a set for cheap off someone who did upgrade to a set of aftermarket coilovers.

I would prefer to buy new parts just so I dont run the tisk if this happening again. I imagine that OEM is the most expensive of the 4 but if the other brands make for a better ride, then I'm all for it.

OEM, then you have KYB and Monroe that are spec'd to OEM.
which means, they're all going to have a very similar ride.

the other options, koni and tein are upgraded after market parts that will deviate away from OEM specs. usually, in a more aggressive manner.

so, if you have coin...drop on OEM.
if coin is an issue, would head to KYB....

then if you said...FUCK it, and wanted an aggressive ride go for Koni or TEIN

lol yea...It is A LOT of driving. The car is great thus far other than the shocks. But for having never been replaced and having over 250k, not too shabby but definitely WAY passed its life

So OEM is a better option than say Koni or TEIN? I would like the tsx to drive better overall or just to have more fun driving. Nothing too crazy driving wise but sort of an incentive to make me want to drive the car. After driving around the world 10 times, you tend to get bored of driving.

Do you guys experience rev hang when pushing the car hard? Also some hesitation I would say when using paddle shifters (also hard driving)?

Yes.

I just made a video to get the exhaust sound through the rev range. Had it in manual, ran it up to redline and hit the upshift flappy paddle. The computer/transmission was like "okay, hold on a sec... *rev limiter* ... alright, now you can have second".

It was sloppy.

Lol. Yeah I rarely use the paddle shifters, just feel like I'm going to blow out the transmission. I did a 0-60/70ish yesterday and by 3rd gear I felt this weird little jerk. Reminded me why I don't use them.

Was thinking of getting the ATF changed, when I went to Acura the guy said the maintenance minder would say when it needs to be changed. Does it really matter? I'd rather just do it for peace of mind, I have 53k and doubt the previous owner had it done.

rockauto is awesome for oem replacements.
they are no frills and bs, sell you the bare bones, up front about any rebates going on and charge you regular pricing on shipping, not rape pricing for you butt.

Are you referring to the torque converter lock up? This is a common "problem" of the 5AT, especially when going from 2nd->3rd or 3rd->4th on WOT.
Basically right after the upshift, even with your foot flat on the floor, the RPM will rise a bit, then you feel a sudden loss of power (needle dips a tiny bit), then it starts going back up again.

no.

if you want more fun, you would want a track focused shock, Like the Koni yellows.
the TEINS are more for show! like, if you care about being lowered.

I think he's referring to one model specifically and not the whole brand cause I thought the same thing.

PS CuJoe...you think your car shifts slowly...in the V if in manual upshift you have to do it like 1000 rpm early for it not to bounce rev limiter and bog and fart hard out the back.

lmao other than that xb, I hope you're being sarcastic.

TEIN has almost always been function > form. Obviously if they want to attain any sort of profit, they'd need to offer a "street" model coilover system that targets the majority of consumers. They have race/track applications and even do custom applications for rally cars.

More sticker than I can count, coool table on the trunk to sit and eat some ramen, looks pretty showy to me
