Yeah, the S2K market moves quick for good examples. You should pop over to the S2000 thread. Leads pop up from time to time there and you just need to fight Thoiboi for the next good one.

I posted a pic a while ago but here are a few more.
I just recently got done totally rebuilding / cleaning the head, rebuilt the carbs and then reassembled and did valve clearances / timing, etc. It actually runs fairly well now. (we had it running before but it ran like total shit). As far as the rest of it, there was a whole bunch of cleanup to do. Gas tank was rusted out, so much ghetto wiring with bad crimps just falling out. Most of the relays were bad, Shitty aftermarket alarm system which i removed. Shitty power windows (I got them to work properly though).
Right now the car is still mostly taken apart but I got 4 of those cool rally style fog lights for the front which will go on later, and maybe we'll do the flag on the roof also.

I didn't like the color at first but now i do (my favorite is still the dark blue though). I think it'll look really good after the big fog lights are on. I also want to get the older style bumpers without the bars on the sides.

I'll never be able to afford an S2K at this rate. One of the few cars that are actually appreciating rather than depreciating. To top it off, 80% of them have been abused

 

aim higher.

I'm keeping the TL for another 5-6, maybe even 7 or 8 years.
by then, real 6MT sports cars will be affordable on the used market.
think vettes, vipers, etc

sure, it'd be nice to have an s2k. butt always appreciate what you have at the current moment and work hard for the future!

No doubt there are "better" cars out there in their stock form.

I've always had a thing for the S2K since it came out and this was when I was in middle school (sorry old farts, just had to). By high school I had already compiled a list of Jay Dee eM partz I'd love to have from scouring ICB. Today, I still don't have the car but I still would want one just as much.

By no means do I think the car is the best... but there's just some attachment I have to it since it came out. It's like the car was almost revolutionary at the time, and conversely almost timeless today. Arguably the best driver's car Honda has ever built (including the NSX and the DC2).

I'll still have one, and I don't care if it's an underpowered 4 banger by today's and tomorrow's standards. It looks so good too.

edit: oh I do intend to keep my CU2 for a while. Love this daily.

I'm optimistic (perhaps delusional is the right word?) that Honda will bring back the S2000 sometime in the near future.

I'm sort of in the same boat in that when I'd be able to shop for one, there will be no good specimens left. They'll all be hole-y rice rockets or pristine bubble-kept garage queens on the block at Barret-Jackson.

I need Honda to bring out a new S2k or S660 some time in the next 5 years so I can buy a used one in 10 or 12.

Is that so much to ask???
