trunk spring installation DIY

i did a pretty long search on this forum and couldn't find the DIY for the trunk spring installtion. can someone help me out here...

also, anyone know where i can pick up the trunk spring tool for cheap...i called all around (both HONDA & ACURA), all of them quoted me min. $37 and had to special order! or maybe if someone in so cal would be kool enough to let me borrow theirs for couple of mins....


BTW, i got the OEM spoiler pakage for only $75 bucks painted....so happy!

THX! okay, the trunk spring just came today w/ NO instructions. And i had no clue how this thing work. Anyone with the DIY?

Here's instruction on 2000 ACCORD (pretty much same)

Instruction

If you want you can get the tool from this site also for $19.60

Torsion bar tool

How much are you guys getting the trunk springs for? I don't wanna get ripped off by my dealer so I wanna have a gauge of the price.

Just curious...Are you sure you can buy just the springs? I don't recall anyone mentioning they bought just the springs. The new springs came with my OEM spoiler. You do know there's a stiffer setting on the stock springs, right?

Yes you can purchase just the springs from Acura. I installed an aftermarket OE style spoiler that did not come with new springs. Had to basically go to dealer to get the springs, and take it to a collision shop to install them for $20 (didn't have the tool to do this myself).

THANK YOU SIR! I will give it a shot tomorrow afternoon! just hope that after the install, i'll remain w/ the same among of fingers i started w/

It was a bit tough holding the damn spoiler up and doing the spring. Good thing I had an extra set of hands.
