I'm excited by how much progress you've made, this is giving me some confidence to do this myself whenever my tranny goes out.

I'll let you know how it rides after I get everything in. Some people in the thread in the Black Market were talking about vibration and that the side mount was too high or something and you have to lift up the engine to get it to line up and that was what was causing the vibration.

The vibration is probably caused by the urethane mounts and not being rubber

A few people have also been having problems with fitment and the holes not lining up right. We'll see about mine when we go to put them on.

I just got some Tein S.Tech off The Black Market .

well this is where Im at as of now.

I have the engine and tranny in, and after this pic I put the radiator and fans in and connected the power steering pump, alternator, and ac compressor. AS you can see, I still need the intake manifold, throttle body and starter, but all of this will come this weekend

Here is the shifter and e brake, I also have the clutch pedal in, but the one I have ( from an S200) doesnt move enough to fully engage the clutch, so Im going to be buyin the right pedal this weekend. as well as the IMRC control box.

And the 6 speed gagues that I placed super bright white LEDs behind.... ahould look pretty good.

Nice to see everything coming along.

I see both you and Kris are running the Optima Red.

I was going to get a new battery (mine was getting pretty old anyway and it's just been sitting there for a few months and is probably completely dead by now) and was going to get the Yellow. I don't really have that much electronics to run; I just have a headunit for now but eventually I was going to get a carputer and redo the system in the trunk.

Red or Yellow top?

Yea mine has been sitting for just about as long as yours but it isn't in a garage, just in a driveway so it is dirty as hell on the outside, but I fully detailed it inside before I dropped it there, so the interior shouldn't be too bad.

I have all the parts I'm just trying to get a hold of the guy about going out to his house and doing it there. If not, I will have to find somewhere else to do it, but that shouldn't be a problem. I'm just trying to make it the best working environment for us to do a good but quick job.

I'm guessing we'll shoot for the weekend after next (the 16-17). I already have my schedule made for this week so I need to write on both calendars that I need that weekend off too. Is that too early of notice?

I'm probably going to get started that Wednesday or Thursday so you can try and make it up as early as you can and we can work through the weekend. I'm just going to start gutting the interior and do what I can as far as prep work to get us started.

Hey murky, we could still use our old shift boot console correct?

Just add that shift boot and type s emblem?

I want to keep the heat seat buttons in the same spot.

Yes. the center console stays the using the TL piece. You just add the shiftboot and trim ring (all one piece bought new). It just fits into place.

As far as the heated seats, you will retain the stock position, but you have to get a little blank plastic piece that fits in where the heated seat buttons are on the CL-S (where you see them by the parking brake in Murky's pictures). It looks like his center colsole came with the switches. You just pop those out and fill in a blank switch. You could also mount a switch for something else there if you want to.

On a side note, I am going to pick up the Optima Red Top (from Autozone) and trans fluid and bearing grease (from Honda dealership) today.

Oh, I thought you remembered you saying that you were getting a blank piece to go there. What else would you put there? Just get a shop that makes dash gets to make a custom piece that fits in there?

I thought i could get one of the dash blanks to fit and it didnt. I was just thinking of picking up a seat switch from the manual and sticking it in there to plug the hole. Its been one of those low priority things for me and ive been driving around with it open.

Just picked up the Optima Red Top, hose clamps for the clutch master cylinder lines, MTF and UERA grease for the bearing. Only thing left is cotter pins.

If anyone is going to be around Tallahassee two weekends from now and wants to help with the swap, let me know .

Do you also relocate #2 (47342-SZ3-003 SWITCH, PARKING BRAKE) from the stock position?

I didnt have to because i used the CL wire harness. If you arent intending on doing so you could simply extend the wires from the stock location to that

That's what turns on the light in the cluster? It has #2 on the new parking brake assembly that I bought (I just checked the big box of parts I have here) so I would just have to extend the wries to make the light come on?

We're still trying to figure that out. He hasn't got it to work on any TL's yet but that's because the only one he has tried it on was running the Type-S ECU. It has been proven to work time and time again on the 98-02 Accords, but not on the TL yet. Joe will be the first with the Type-S module and I will hopefully be the first TL-P to run it successfully. He said he would come down once I have the swap done and get the module to work with my car. Then he'll be able to tell if they work with the TL-P's so he can move on to making a module for the Type-S.

If your going to spend 700 for a module, why not just get a type s engine and trans. it would be a lot faster, and better.... IMO.

I posted another list of random nuts and bolts a few pages back. That all depends where you get your parts from and what hardware comes with them.
