Look at all the places there are to drill holes for the parking brake cables
Kris, were there this many in your car? Which ones do I use?
And I'm guessing there is a way to get more slack from the cables themselves? With how much I have now, it doesn't look like it will work with any of the spots there.

Test fitting of the center console/parking brake

Also, there wasn't a nut on the back side of the parking brake for the right side. There was on the left side, but not on the right. I will just have to get a longer bolt and a nut and locking washer for the other side. No biggie.

Here's a little breakdown

330 Innovative motor mounts from Excelerate
275 Random Technology cat from Excelerate
1380 6 speed CL-S transmission from LKQ
1000 in OEM Acura parts (clutch/flywheel, clutch master cylinder, clutch/brake pedals, trans mounts, shifter and cables, nuts/bolts, trans fluid, UERA grease, etc.)

140 Tein S.Tech from Black Market
256 Tokico HP off ebay

$3381 But only $2380 of that is for the transmission work. Getting the module will put me at 3K.

Niice work so far man. Two of my buddies from around here have the swap done, and trust me you're gonna love every second of driving it. The car feels like a totally different beast with the 6 speed, and the throttle response and overall drive is sweet. Best of luck with the project dude.

well i finally picked up the intake manifold, the right clutch pedal and the IMRC control box. Im getting the throttle body and starter on thursday then towing to the dealer on saturday, car should be driveable by then. I have a question for fsttyms though.

For them to reprogram the key do they attach to the ecu, or obdII output, or do they just plug they key into the ignition and work some magic. reason i ask is because im wondering if im gonna have to get the dash harness before i take it in.

I dont remember which holes i bolted the cables too. Get the parking brake hooked up and the cables hooked to it. Then you will see. Its a tight squeeze but they will hook up.

Murky
As for them programing it, I didnt bring it to them till i was all set(i had every thing in). Once you think the car is ready then bring it in. At least get it to where turning the key cranks the car over. Im not sure how they program the key to the ECU. Its not even listed in the manual on how to do it.

Looks like we might be in a mad dash to the finish. Joe's coming up on Thursday to start working on my car and he'll be here until Sunday so we will both be finishing around the same time.

Cool, I was trying to figure out which ones they lined up to, but it didn't look like any of them did. Its going to be Tuesday before I do any more work, so I'll try again. My main problem was the drill I borrowed from my manager not being charged so I couldn't get all the holes for the parking brake drilled.

Also, did you see where I said that there wasn't a nut under the hole that I drilled for the right rear bolt hole for the parking brake? There was under the left one (which was already drilled out and had the parking brake cable (from by the clutch pedal)) attached to it.

Yea that's what I was planning on doing. I just have to go back to the harware store and get some 40mm (length) instead of 30mm and some nuts and locking washers.

... but most people end up doing it anyway just to get rid of the PRND321 from the tachometer and get the bigger tach with the silver faced gauges.

Also, my Tein S.Tech came in today at work. What about trimming the bump stops to make it even lower?

Correct there isnt a need to. But the tach is much easier to read in the manual than the auto, and it looks better not having the spot for the gear selector.

But I believe you do need to trim them a bit to allow for the lowered ride height. I also have the HPs and the bump stop needed to be trimmed to allow for proper travel height for my Eibachs. It should say how much needs to be trimmed on the Tein website.

hey fsttyms do you think you can scan those pages on removing the dash for me. And if your saying that if it cranks over i should be able to take it in then im gonna try that before bothering with the harness.

I dont remember which harness it is, but be prepared to do custom wiring to get all teh airbags and door locks and windows and speakers to work. Thats why i say to keep all teh wiring possible. I would almost look for a junk yard that has the cl-6 and talk to someone and see if they can cut the harness inside the car and ship it to you and repin it.

Got the rest of the holes drilled and mounted the parking brake

These are the two holes I had to use

off

on

I know it's at kind of a weird angle, but that was my only option aside from just drilling new holes instead of using the existing ones.

Kris, I hate to rain on your parade, but those Tein's appear to be fake, judging from the info found here: http://www.tein.com/counterfeit/index.html I hope they aren't, so don't shoot the messenger.
