I finally got my case settled.

Order my Konis
then call Comptech and get the springs sent to me for FREE (no shipping charges)
they hold my Credit card number for 30 days and do not charge it if I have the old (rusted) springs back to them within 30 days.(they send a call tag with the new springs so i do not pay shipping back to them.)

Although I am out install and alignment, I am some what satisfied with the outcome.
DISCLAIMER: I haven't read the whole thread so I'm sorry if I've missed something.

1) How do we know that they're Eibach's
2) If they're Eibach's, does that mean that they are Comptech Springs manufactured by Eibach using Comptech's specs or is Comptech just repackaging the same CL/TL spring that Eibach sells?

Well ... my rear is currently sitting lower than that, but there could be extenuating circumstances as already discussed above.

I've got a set of Silver Comptechs (put on in 12/2002) on the 99' TL-P and I don't have a rust issue. My issue is more with the drop. Has anyone had a sagging issue with their springs? Or just rust and failure issues? This car seems to sit pretty low - even compared to the way the 2003 TL-S used to sit.

spoke to CT today.. they confirmed they are Eibach springs.

as for the drop, well I guess you can see above that it is not the advertised drop on the web site.

I guess I will be making another phone call tomorrow to CT and explain my concerns..

the saga continues.

Holy shit.

I haven't checked this thread in a few days and come back and read 3 pages of bullshit.

I'm done with Comptech for sure.

My silver springs have yet to rust but soon as the start they're out the door.

Now I just need a suitable replacemnet for my springs. I already got Konis.

Why would the tire size or the Rim style matter?
Don’t they have the alignment machine that attaches to the INSIDE edge of the wheel?
I know that’s what PAA uses.

Here is a picture of mine with the new black Comptechs.

This is before I raised the shocks one notch. It's close to being level now. One good thing I noticed is that the car rides much better now. Feels tighter but not harsher if that makes any sense.

These might be a good replacement if you want to keep the same drop without the droop.

correct... CT does NOT make their springs "in-house"... they pay another company (eibach) to make the springs.

Writing on the springs is as follows:
Fronts:
Comptech
110-135R Front
139 457A

Rears:
Comptech
110-135R Rear
133 420-1A

The box is just a plain white box with a small sticker on the end that says:
Comptech Sport and the models they fit.

Man that looks awesome!! I think I remember you saying they were going to lower the fronts one notch on the Neuspeed Konis and raise them to the highest notch on the back. Is that what you have there? My fronts are on the middle notch and I raised the back one notch. Mine is close to level now but still looks a bit droopy to me.

Yesterday when I saw the car the rears were on the top notch and the fronts were in the middle, and the rears looked a hell of a lot lower than these pics show. I just checked b4 coming online, and the rears are still on the top perch and the fronts are on the bottom perch. It may be the light, but to me the pic of the passenger side rear looks like there is more space than on the drivers side rear, but I can't understand why both rears are higher than they were yesterday with only the front being dropped (plus all the stuff OEM stuff is out of the trunk so maybe it was more of a factor than I thought). I just wanted to take some pics based on yesterdays posts to this thread to provide a visual.

Carl - there is no camber kit at this time. One of the techs suggested I might need one, and the service manager (who is also aftermarket friendly and proactive) told me that if it was his car he wouldn't mess with the kit unless the wear became intolerable. I'll just have to moniter closely and see, but no sense investing the bucks now if the kit isn't necessary.

so can you explain the perch thing to me.. I am new at Konis and I will be purchasing Koni Yellows shortly to go with the new (black) CT/eibach springs..

I should set the rear perch on the highest setting and the front perches on the lowest setting? so I get a raked or even look?

The Koni's allow for minor height adjustments. I believe the maximum difference from lowest to highest is 1/2"

My car has settled alot.. I'll try and take some pics tomorrow.. I will go get a alignment and see if I need a camber kit..

I put a call in to Comptech to see what the new ride height is and/or to see how much it is lowered.. No call back from Joe yet..

wait a minute .. I'm confused.

the adjustability on Koni's are for height adjustments? I always though they were adjustable for dampening like the tein's. does adjusting the koni's change the dampening of the shocks?

The multiple mouting perches change the height and the stiffness is adjustable from the top of each one by turning the "screw" with the supplied tool

Konis are adjustable for both height and dampening
