Lol. Yea. My next biggest concern with running a different TB is MAP sensor location. Other then that, Ive found a few TBs that should work. Im going to see what the similarities are between the K series throttle body I have and the J series. That may open up some doors.

 

I can't wait to get mods on my Accord. I've already beaten an 08 Mustang GT 5MT, 08 G35S, and 10 Camaro RS all off the line. I miss my TL but the Accord has won me over definitely. All I need now are mods

Yup. Its basically done. E30 has his working perfectly, and aside from my modded IACV, mine is running perfectly as well.

I thinks its a worthwhile mod for me, but Ill let the dyno graphs do the talking once I get 3 more pulls in.

I actully did race my boys stock 05 Gt coupe auto, and he took me by 2-3 car legnths but that was a few weeks b4 i put my headers on i think now it might be 1 car or even , but i dont know!

Like I said B4 there alot of other cars u can make alot fasted then these FWD monsters for alot less coin spent!

 

I think you need to reread his post. Hes got an 8th Gen Accord 6MT. They are fast. Ive taken a LT1 Z28 Camaro in my brothers Accord from a dig. There is no bullshit in his post.

And I have absolutely no problems beating GTs in my CL.

This mod? Not including misc BS about $700.

The new Accords run 13.9s stock. At that point its a drivers race. There was someone on another forum that got his to run 13.6 with an intake and a test pipe in place of the third cat.

I dont pull up to someone and instigate a race. I let them do it. So if anything, most races take me by surprise.

The new 3.5l Altimas are not that fast either. Have you ever raced one?

 

for MAP sensor issue u can T off of a vacume line and hook it up to the MAP sensor and either u zip tie it down or make a bracket for it

 

If you go on Dragtimes.com to see what people are actully running u will see that no one had broke 14 seconds with a accord coupe I belive 14.2 was the best of many and then you look at mustangs and everyone broke 14 seconds with there stangs.All the stock cars on dragtimes.com have a # by the time and these are actual 1/4 times of normal people from many diff tracks in the US. Dont get me wrong I hate mustangs and most american cars but com'mon accord v6 beating mustangs and G37's?

I've beat z28's and gt's before, haven't raced a G37. Not that tough to do. Magazine numbers dont always translate on the street.

And it proves that we raced and beat these cars

 

Why did you race your friends GT then?

For a stock Honda Accord, 13s are fast. For me though, its not fast. 14s are normal cars. 12s and 13s are quick cars. 11s and faster are fast cars.

Stoned, I agree that this car is not a race car. But neither are Chevy Vegas or Astro vans, but people turn them into race cars because they want to. Its something different, not the usual Camaro or Mustang. IMHO, it takes alot more skill to get a FWD car into the 12s then it does getting a RWD car in the 11s.

Thanks for the info. Im still looking into what TB I should use. The older 5.0 Mustang throttle bodies can be used with K series, and I have the wiring schematics for the TPS. The only thing is the Mustang uses a hoop and hook style throttle cable, so you need to fashion something up.

 

Wow I didnt know the douchery was gona come out just from me posting that I beat a few cars. V6 6MT is a legit 13.9 second car, I never said I smoked a vette or anything. I beat a Mustang GT by a car or 2 . Ive also never said raced a G37, it was a 4 door G35S.

Dude I never said my car was fast when i was a young punk like most the CL owners now , when I first got my car 9 years ago (I was 20)i thought it was fast also so i raced just like u guys and talked shit just like you guys thats why i raced my cuzins GT 6-7 years ago at island dragway and got smoked and I got smoked by many other cars 330's , 540's , G35's but who cares who's car is faster? I would rather have a car that run's 16's that has a tranny that can go 100k miles then a car that can mun mid 14's but can have a tranny last 50k miles..
If they meant for the CL to be a sports car it would have been RWD or AWD..
Can you name 1 fast car (sports car) that is FWD?

 

And if you guys beat all these car and it was lagit sho me some timeslips..
Go to your local track and line up against a z28 or mustang GT beat him and post the time slip then I will shut up, untill then If it makes u guys feel more like a MAN to say you raced and smoked all these cars then be it.. L's i have no problem with the accord being so quick im a loyal honda owner and im happy the accord is so quick but.. If you go on dragtimes and go to CL/TL the fastest out of 1000's of people that are acctully taking there cars to the track is 13.3 with the 3.5 upgrade headers sc..
So keep pouring money into the car to try and get it to what it is not a racecar, but if that makes all u feel better then go ahead....

Like i said when I was young and stupid when i first got my car I also though it was quick but after some near accedents and tickets racing on the streets in public is just plain STUPID you can kill someone if not yourself.. I had a friend that got a 330 when i got my CL-s and we always used to race and be stupid on the streets and HWY's and he is no longer with us at 120 on route 80 about 7 years ago a car didnt see him and switch lanes killed him and injured 2 other of my friends in his car and mad the other person handicapped that he hit, and i was suppose to go with him that day.
So next time you guys think your car is quick and are doing 100+ on public Hwy's just remember u might be the best driver in the world but if someone does not see u and switches lanes your DEAD....so if u guys have thes 13 second cars take it to the track race some GT's and G35/37 and post the timeslips..Better safe then sorry!

Wouldn't saying "Just be safe" have been easier and more to the point than accusing people of lying about cars they've beat on the street and calling them kids or saying they're trying to be a MAN? In one post you say you like seeing us sup up our cars and in another you say it's not point because the CL isn't a racecar. At least be consistent.

 

When the CL came out everyone was comparing it with the BMW 3 series. The 3 series is a sports car first and foremost. Acura built this car as a luxurious sports coupe. Honda has built sports cars that were not RWD (Interga Type R, Civic Type R). And you want me to name just one fast sports car that is FWD? Ok, Renault Megane R26.R. It set the FWD lap record at the Nurburgring.

If it were a 7th gen Accord Id ask for proof. However an 8th gen verse a CL. I wouldnt argue.

Im sorry about your friend. I agree with you on streetracing, its irresponsible and immature.

Believe me, Ive calmed down ever since I experienced a "tank slapper" going around a corner at 110 back when I was 17. Back then I used to race all over the place and do completely stupid shit. I did 130 in a 35 past a police station and got chased. Ive gotten pulled over for street racing - with a suspended license. We've all done stupid shit when we were younger. I feel as though since I moved down to VA and my job now revolves around my car, I have been less inclined to street race. Its more of get from point A to point B. I modify the car because it is an extension of my personality. I wouldnt be happy if the car was bone stock. I prefer to make it alittle bit faster not so I can beat the guy next to me at the light, but because I want to.

And up in NY, you really cant say take it to the track. They closed down the only track that was on Long Island. The nearest place to race is Englishtown.

 

Don't lie , you did all those mods to your car for the same reason i got my headers and CAI and spacers , not to be faster to get better gas milage like me!

BTW how is this mod with gas milage have you gotten any better MPG cuz if so i might just think of doing this!

Civic, what was the final diagnosis on your problemo? Do you have a dyno day picked?

 

I was planning on hitting the dyno friday, but work has me going down to Charlotte. I have some work near the dyno place next week, so right after Im going to stop by and get some runs in.

Lol! Yea, it was all for the gas mileage.

I have beating the sh!t out of the car since I got it back on the road, and Im still pulling 400miles out of a 15 gallon fillup. So its holding steady at 26.5mpg mixed, which is unchanged from the old manifold. The official gas mileage results will be posted Friday night or saturday after my 9 hour commute

 

ya i had this on my h22...i used a coupling on the throttle cabel..i made it hybird...honda throttle cable with the mustang hoop and hook

 

How did you connect the two cables together? Im sure I can figure it out if I had the two in front of me, but ideas are welcome

 

Hey civic how much is the dyno running you? I've been trying to get a dyno day going but noone seems interested on this end. Depending on where you go and how much its running you I have at least 3 people (inlcuding myself) willing to go with you to maybe lower the price. (group rate thing)
