BTW, I won't track it for a while since I need to get stronger custom axles.... I already tore apart the passenger side CV Boot and I never stepped on it while break-in, however I have decent torque from the line

The entire NEW stock passenger side axle was replaced and the car now runs strong, however I won't be getting on it from the light until I get the custom ones. The fun still won't be limited since I can floor it from the roll

Great work. But unforunately, and i'm sure you are plenty fast... the Benz couldn't have been pushing it. Allmotor barely kept up with one (actually I think he lost). They run mid 12s from the factory at well over 110 MPH.

I suprised you can't import data from the main Unit.

I have an old laptop, installed the software, everything was connected and RPM signal still didn't work. I went to the shop installed the software on their brand new with P4 and it worked right away . Even now when I connect my laptop with Win 98 it doesn't read the real time . I checked everything ... nothing. Time to change to newer one ... ebay

Also, forgot to mention my fiberglass hood now fits and weigh just 12lbs : Just cutting out cross beams underneath resolved the clearance issue.

Nah, allmotor was dead even but with E55 (4055 lbs). In fact it was confirmed by that guy on V6P who owns that E55 .

Now this CL55 (4255 lbs) also had a passenger so even more weight against my 3200lbs + me (~235 lbs). I know how they run, and I also know when they play around or getting on it hard. Like I said I couldn't believe it myself and agree I should have lost . I am curious on my numbers... soon to come with stock exhaust and added b-pipe.

Tried to schedule for a first DYNO last week, unfortunately my main guy got sick, so will try this Saturday again as planned.

The car runs strong from the line, however it hesitates between 2700 - 3600 RPM when applied 1/2 throttle. At WOT it runs strong, however too rich mid - high 10s and sometime flat 11 AFR. Therefore, tuning is necessary to pull some fuel.

I had one issue recently when I drove on 5 cylinders (normal driving) and turned out a failed ignition coil plug . Plugs are new IK22, everything back to normal now and just need tuning. Also, expecting this week Rotora BBK and Tein SS/P from Excelerate and my 17" rims are coming back on with upcoming new pics

So here is the plan:
This week - DYNO first with stock exhaust and tune it.
Next week - get exhaust, tune the car again on DYNO, shoot video and post the plots.

I recently experienced the same 5 cylinder issue (normal driving)... I found out the e-manage dumped the base map... I unplugged the PnP& e-manage.. then plugged everything back in... reloaded the map and the car ran fine.
I am going to lower fuel pressure as well.

I spoke to the local dyno guy and he is said his dyno will be up and running in May...

So you figured out how to connect E-Manage to your newer laptop. Are you using USB (male to male) connection? I'm going to purchase new laptop (XP), however I don't think E-Manage supports XP just 98/NT/2000.

Would be interesting to compare numbers despite your 6900rpm red line and higher CR. Are you going to use Dynojet SAE?

Yeah Like Steve said.. 16 bit PCMCIA card.(data transfer)... a 32 bit PCMCIA card is just for Multi-media transfer.

E-manage supports XP.. I have XP on my new laptop.. : (I should of bought a 300 dollar piece of crap)

I am sure we will have a thread up soon, where we all can compare numbers and help eachother with the e-manage.

I am not 100% what the dyno is, they are still building a building for it outside the shop.. ( I hope they finish soon).. I really want to go. 3 runs for $75.00.

I'll pay $60 for 3 runs

And using this:

This mini port replicator combines a USB serial adapter, USB parallel printer adapter, and 2-port USB hub into one. And it was a gift

BTW, I found the reported issue (2700-3500rpm car hesitates at 1/2 throttle) thanks for the above adapter. I was unable to check E-Manage due to not having laptop for 5-6 days. The old one went ebay last week and new one was purchased last night ($699).

Hooked up everything, fired up the E-Manage and to my surprise Real Time screen displayed no RPM signal . Checked the wire, yep it was disconnected, seems the guy who installed EGT wire to my wideband accidentially pulled when placing everything under carpet.

So, took the car for a test drive ... it runs strong again and no hesitation and/or delay throughout the powerband.

Still need to tune this Saturday (too rich at WOT)

av6 i tried the Serial to USB adapter, but when i called Toshiba, they told me the ONLY way to transfer data to my specific laptop is a 16 bit PCMCIA data transfer card..

sold the USB to Serial port adapter on e-bay 2 weeks ago for a small loss...

Yeah I seriously can not wait to tune the car and dyno it.

Better be a good tune. The RSX is gonna be a screamer. I'd hate for a little 2.0L 4-banger to smoke you.

I will know in a couple of days with stock exhaust. I decided to go with Neuspeed exhaust , install next week and hit the dyno again with tuning if necessary.

I suspected a RSX. Good choice. That should be a great project. When Comptech perfects the aftercooler, it will even be better.

Ok, did the first DYNO. Well, it's a little lower then I expected, however couple things I need to check/replace, and most important I'm not done yet with tuning.

Keep in mind, my compression ratio is 9.0:1 vs. 10.5:1 on CL-S, thus I need more boost (it shot up to 9.5psi and went down to 9psi at the red line). Also my red line is 6500rpm vs. 6900rpm on CL-S and generally speaking CL-S ECU seems more aggressive, however I have to utilize AV6 ECU in order to run Dr. Evil 4AT. That plus I ran stock exhaust with CT mufflers. I definately feel I need to uncork my exhaust (Neuspeed coming this week) and put back light rims.

The bottom line with stock exhaust and stock rims I made 313whp/250wtq (SAE Dynojet) and torque is flat stays that way from beginning to the end. BTW, my dyno guy swears his Dynojet (I believe its 248 model) is the most conservative machine comparing to even other Dynojet shops, so it might be more on others . Also, to get some credit here, the stock AV6 typically dyno pathetic 158whp/151wtq, so I gained double on WHP and 100WTQ for now .

While dyno the very first time the AF came up rich as expected (due to checking on my wideband monitor before). At full boost it showed between 10.5-10.8 up to 6200rpm then it shot lean to 13.1 at the red line. Since I was never taken the car to red line and E-Manage is set to retard timing we never experienced any bad signs. So that's good.

Now, the second time I asked to do the opposite - to raise the middle range to mid 11s AFR a make as lean as 12 at the red line. The result came up almost as expected but not ideal - the middle range (at full boost) was between 11.6-11.8 and the red line remain the same despite the fact my dyno guy added more fuel through E-Manage "INJ" screen.

Then the weird thing started happening. The more fuel he added through E-Manage the leaner the car went on. So it looked it did the opposite of what we asked. We even raise the FP to 38psi at idle and 65psi w/o vacuum it still remained lean and did not change a bit It could be my FPR has failed and need to be replaced, however before raising the FP, the gauge showed good numbers (went 95psi for a half a second then dropped to 85psi whereas before the calibration kit it was always at 100psi). I'll try to get a new FPR and see if it helps. I remember Scalbert mentioned he's noticed the FPR acting up strange with followed replacement. So, I guess I can try one too.

Steve, I can take the screen shots of the E-Manage screen for you tonight to see how much he added the fuel. So now, I'm running on the base map supplied and would like to know why its not changing the way we want.

So, this week I'll get the new FPR (hope it's in stock) and new exhaust coming on Thursday along with 17" Centerline rims with BFG tires back on. That plus still waiting on BBK and Tein SS from Excelerate.

Bottom line, even with this tuning issue the car definitely got some balls and put the smile on my face every time I step on it plus its not done yet and hope for better results. BTW, I shoot a video including dyno and need to learn how to edit, so end of this week I'll post it here.

Almost forgot, got some fun kills - 2nd gen. turbo eclipse GSX (from the roll) and M3 ('01+)

Just repeat myself with attached plots :

While dyno the very first time the AF came up rich as expected (due to checking on my wideband monitor before). At full boost it showed between 10.5-10.8 up to 5800rpm then it shot lean to 13.1 at the red line.

I'll try to get a new FPR and see if it helps. I remember Scalbert mentioned he's noticed the FPR acting up strange with followed replacement. So, I guess I can try one too.

I'll try to get the AF chart too on this.

FINAL.

I saved the the FINAL file and will send to Steve tonight. So far I'm running on the original included in the unit, since the second one was not saved and the FINAL is too lean.

I'm going to play around with it this weekend.

Tomorrow getting installed BBK (need brakes bad) along with Tein SS/P & EDFC.
So will be set on suspension and brakes.

Now, my only concern is tuning the fuel. Just got the generic FPR with small cal kit included, so will try replace mine and play with it. The pump voltage will be checked and go from there. Basically, seems when lots of fuel added on high RPMs through E-Manage the AFR remain lean, where it should be rich or normal. So I suspect its FPR and maybe pump acting up Will know soon.

Next going to add Neuspeed exhaust and do a dyno again to see a difference.
Tuning is the most I concern, and will wait for Scalbert input on the E-manage map suggestions.

Great to hear everything is finally up and running. I'm jealous to hear that your getting the SS-P though. I wanted that type of setup from the start, but Tein didn't offer it. Hope to see that beast on the street or at the track sometime.

what size piping on the neusped exhaust? my brother just switched from a greddy evo to a magnaflo muffler with 3" piping on his integ LS-t and after hearing it on his car i think it would sound real nice on a j3x, it has a deep throaty rumble, sort of sounds like a boxer motor.

I should pick it up tonight with EDFC .
Once I completely tune we can schedule local meet

Neuspeed listed 60mm b- pipe to 50mm y-pipe and 100mm end pipes.
So that would be 2.36" to 2" and 3.94" (these are huge). I'll let you know how they sound and post video (weekend)
