Way to go Scalbert !!

I can't wait to support you. My advice would be to bring the projects out carefully, we've waited this long we can wait a bit longer. What would you suggest i get from you first based on what i have ?

Best of luck.

Natalie, our VP of Marketing, certainly does. But Makenna, my resident engineer and VP of that division, favors me.

Definitely going to brings things out slow. In fact, I don't see how else I could considering this is not a full time thing for me; I still have my real job and will have it. I am planning on hiring someone to help but that will probably stay within the family.

As for what to get, that will depend on desires. If you want even more power there will only be a single real offering, the IC and e-Manage. But the items to aid in traction will also be available. Then later would be transmission enhancements. We'll have to see how things progress...

Ah, good point. Makes perfect sense that the engineering genes would be from you.

What'll it take to get Makenna to put RES out in time for a Christmas wish list? Some pudding or ice cream. or some new shoes.

She is making this a priority and should be able to meet that schedule.

Just seeing this thread (haven't been in car talk lately). This is great news for all of us J series engine drivers. I'm a moron, but what is a RES ?
As for the cat back exhaust, is it going to have anything special like a larger diameter piping, or anything of the sorts ?

Steve you are the man, and the man has some beautiful employees.

RES as it was called, I'm looking for a different name, will aid the resonance effect on the Type-S engine.

I haven't done enough research on the exhaust systems to make a definite statement. But there may be up to three different systems which are dependant on the other parts. More on this later.

Yep, Makenna does look more like me. In fact people often say we got a little Jennifer (Natalie) and a little Steve (Makenna). Thankfully nature has a way of softening and making features more female.

Thanks Scalbert. I'm sure i could do the E-manage first and then the IC right ? Will the E-Manage itself raise power or just in conjunction with the higher boost pulley ?

I will definitely be interested in a beefed up tranny and whatever you have that helps to put the power down. Good luck again !!

P.S. Maybe you could look for people to give you deposits well in advance to help you fund projects in return for future discounts ?? I'd be interested in helping you in that way.

The e-Manage alone will not give power. It is there to support running more boost. So it really would be used in conjunction with the IC and more boost.

Is the IC only available for the 6 speeds? Or will your current model work with the auto's as well?

Steve,

#1 *problem* (aside from the transmission) is the cooling of the front brakes. Especially since the brembo blanks warp too

There is not an inexpensive (relatively) solution at the moment.

I had thought of air channels and some electric fans. But I haven't cared enough to do anything. The dealer keeps replacing them at no charge.

Good luck with the business. I'd go incorporate yourself as a s-corp myself. That way you won't be personally liable for anything. But I'm sure you have already thought of that.

Am I correct in assuming that the resonance advantage of the RES part wouldn't assist or add power to a F.I. CL?

Most of you S/C guys disconnect your IMRC anyways correct?

I would think if you were still taking advantage of the IMRC the RES could help you all with FI.

I don't see how it would be compatible with the Intercooler or a direct port NOS set up.

I could be wrong though. I'm a noob when it comes to FI on our cars.

Correct, once manifold pressure goes above the ambient pressure the resonance effect no longer occurs as it did under vacuum.

I did quite a bit of research on this and found out this is very common. When reading books and literature on turbo and supercharging applications, the common theme was that fancy manifold systems become irrelevant when forced induction is applied.

Steve, awesome family you got there...all four of you! Even my wife commented on how good the family looked.

Thanks for taking such an interest in our cars as well. Its awesome to have guys like you, allmotor, cls2001, and others that look for things that help our cars out.

Now I don't know much but what would be the feasibility of changing the auto's 4th gear? For us auto guys we are dead after 3rd gear so I was just curious.

Oh and I didn't notice the discronificator listed on your release schedule...anytime in the near future?

The problem with changing the 4th gear in the 5AT or or any gear changes would require an ECU hack. I would love to find someone who could do this but it doesn't look promising.

I haven't listed the discronificator due to the extensive testing it will require. Maybe one day it will be complete and everyone can enjoy the power it gives along with the greater sense of well being it provides. It also makes a great cup of coffee.

Steve, will the ESM on the S/C'ed cars still need to be present if we get the Intercooler and E-manage?

Nope, the e-Manage takes care of it through its boost cut feature.

Thanks Steve. I am very excited about many of these HOPE products and along with Red Rider and others I am sure would be willing to give you deposits to assist you in developing these modifications.

on another question: If have been having problems getting my fuel pressure above 92 psi on WOT. I do not have my IMRC disconnected because I haven't had any problems with detonation or knocking, but was wondering if this could have some benifits as far as performance? Thanks

It is probably just fine there. You really don't need much more fuel pressure than that at the boost you are running.

Get the Icebox now. I'm sure scalbert will develop one eventually, but it will be months and months down the road. You can always sell your Icebox if the scalbert's proves to be better.

Scalbert you need to hook me up with your e-manage with plug and play soon. Just program the e-manage to your 6 spd spec. : I need maybe 5 degrees of retard at full boost. Tonight it was 60 degrees and I heard my car ping again. I hope I don't blow another engine. What is included in the PnP e-manage?

There will be multiple versions but what you will need will be everything. The main unit, ignition and injection harness along with the software and cable. The harnesses will be pre-wired for PnP operation with the CL/TL.
