Modify your navigation system
That's very strange, I keep on getting that error message... could it be a windows thing. Anyway I can get the patched bin file from you

Altho it could be funny to install some sort of error screen or the BSOD so they think they broke it and spend time trying to fix it

Any one can confirm ? I took existing bmp and nav into my bin file..
The lag in the beginning is like 3-5 sec but the disclaimer is gone and then I hit the OK button.. is that the same for everyone
I dont mind the lag but the disclaimer is gone for everyone too ?

I am having a problem trying to update the image. I've changed the image, updated the proper bin and try to load the disc. The problem is that the old image is still showing up. I've tried disconnecting the battery. I've also confirmed that the image in the bin is the updated image by unpacking the BIN using bysin's utility.
Did anyone run into this problem? If so, how did you remedy it??

Did you make sure that it's the bin your car is loading?? The read me will in struct you how to do that. I ran into the similar problem when I first did it, until I realized I was changing 12B instead of 18B.

also, check whether you had an error updating the bmp when running dumpnavi. You might be loading an unmodified BIN

Check it out:

It looks pretty good. I might have to adjust the brightness though. And I used a CD-RW this time so I won't have to burn/waste so many CD-R's. There was no-lag. Size: 111,510 bytes.

I was working on DumpNAVI to extract the modules in the BIN (as of right now it just extracted the files, not the modules)... Well anyway, it extracted a file called "JitDbgr.EXE", which seems like a simple debugger for the Honda/Acura navigation system. It turns out, the signature of this program is "MITSUBISHI Electronic Corporation". Why is honda using a mitsubishi product in my car?
Another thing I was wondering was, does Mitsubishi know about this? The actual modules in the BIN were hidden and compressed in a huge mess, I'm sure no one else has gone this far into cracking the navigation system, so you heard it here first.
I do not think it is a big deal. Mitsubishi is a big corporation much like a GE over here. They make a lot of stuff and have various divisions, so it would not be a big deal they used Mitsubishi electronic stuff.
I am sure you have seen those Mitsubishi HD televisions. It is good stuff.

i remember talking to a guy who new a thing or two about the way business works in Japan
i believe the truth is that those companies manufacturing completely different stuff under the same logo in fact have nothing to do with each other besides the logo
they are completely independent and separately managed

It would be very interesting to have a look on schematics of the Navi unit. I would like to find out if it is capable of playing CD quality stereo sound. It would open possibilities of developing MP3 player.

I did chcek to make sure I have the right BIN and I know I do because I see my first attempt. But I've since updated the image and now can get that one to load.
To Arcticl's point... After replacing the image with the newer one, I used the console app to extract all the files. I was able to confirm that there wasn't an issue updating the BIN and that the Back.bmp is the newer one.
I'm wondering if keeping the battery unhooked for 2 minutes is enough... When I reconnected it, I lost all my XM settings, but the radio setting were still preset.
