A girl that seafoams her own car, rips headlights and bumpers off to replace ballasts, and replaces her own battery?

You know, I think that ECU question is a good question (it may be obvious to others, but not to me)!! I don't know if it gets reprogrammed somehow or what!
The trip - GA to NY and back was great. Had the car aligned yesterday, and wish I did it before the trip and not after. Fact is, with this new engine, and the new struts last year, and all the stuff I did the year before, this car is running better than it did 60k miles ago. It's really purring these days.

I haven't got an answer to the ECU question yet, as I haven't stopped in to see my mechanic. But I have confirmed that I'm getting much better MPGs now than before - though I have less power with the new motor. On the trip I got 32 miles per gallon for pure highway driving (cruise controlled at either 74 or 78 mph usually). The best I ever got with the old motor was 29.

Next up - install those clear corners that have been sitting in my garage for months. I ordered amber bulbs from amazon and they should be here this week.

What engine did you have before? I'm glad you got some nice gas mileage. The best I've gotten is ~26, and that was when I was HAULING (80 to 100 MPH) up 35 to go to my parent's house in Missouri!

It's the same engine as before - F23A1. I have a '98 CL 2.3, 5 speed. The new engine was pulled from an '02 Accord, which I think was the last year Honda used that engine in any car.

I got a ticket today....42 in a 30...

I'm really upset, but I need to take the defensive driving waste o' time again so my insurance will go down...

I then bought a tarp, cord, and an electric buffer for my car so I can wax/detail my car under cover and to make me feel better...I shouldn't have spent that money.

This day is not looking good; I just noticed some canine fecal matter imbedded in my boot tread!!! GROSS!!

I should promptly return home and crawl into bed.

That sucks about the ticket, I got one not too far back because it was the end of the month and the cop obviously needed to meet quota as he was cutting off and pulling over 4-5 people at a time

Guess what I'll be doing UH-GAIN?!

To top off the shitty day yesterday, I was driving home from work (here) and had my lights on because it was getting dark. I stopped at a light and saw the reflection off the car in front of me.......... The same headlight as before has ceased to be UH-GAIN...

In an attempt to look on the bright side, this time it'll be easier since I've done it before....

I have absolutely watched a state cop do that a couple times in the past here in CT. Never unlucky enough to be included in the roundup though!

And to save a new post from being created....
Got a spare set of headlights and have blackhoused them and recieved my morimoto mini H1 projectors yesterday and am waiting for my genuine Phillips H1 conversion kit ($85 bucks shipped new in box off of a private seller on Ebay) to finish my retrofit. Unfortunately using Fliflyricist1's diy I too am unlucky like him and have to shave down some of the reflector and most likely the lock ring instead of just a simple drop in install! Will post finished product when done!

This was kinda painful to do...

Since it is the ballast that went out and to get a new one, I had to do this...

So it can never be used again?....Even though it doesn't work, that was horrible. Every time I walk past that part of the lab bench I shudder...LOL

That PlastiDip looks like a miracle worker....

I'll be ripping my bumper off and headlight so I can put my replacement ballast in.

I went to that meet here Saturday... Being that I don't know who anyone's real name or what they look like AND the pre-meet was cancelled unbeknownst to me, I just wandered around looking like some creepy chick who wasn't scantily-clad, all alone, looking frantically for any clue that maybe whatever person was someone from this forum before I passed out from heat exhaustion. I didn't pass out; I made it back to my car out in BFE. I did take a couple of pictures though...

I got all excited just to look like a fool in the end....yay me...

Sorry to hear, meets can be weird, but I doubt you looked creepy roaming around. You should have just approached someone and started bs'ing with them about their car
