What did you do to your CL today?
#1041
Changed a couple of bulbs today. Now all I need is new wiper blades and I'm ready for next week's GA -> NY road trip!
The new engine is smooth and quiet. But frankly, it has a tad less power than the old one. I'm not sure why that is. It's an F23A1, same as the old one, came from an '02 Accord according to my mechanic. It does seem to be sipping gas though. I haven't filled it yet, so I don't know the mpgs. Perhaps it's just tuned more for efficiency than performance? But I'd have thought I still have the old ECU. I don't know.

I have to leave work, take the train to my car, drive home, get the head unit, let the dogs out, drive back to town, park car back in same garage, and take train back into town to go see my brother's wife play in some symphony concert tonight. Guess I'll have to wait to play with my new radio

You know, I think that ECU question is a good question (it may be obvious to others, but not to me)!! I don't know if it gets reprogrammed somehow or what!

Since I don't get to play with my head unit for a few days, here's a pic of my new sub amp that I installed a couple weeks ago

Just ordered myself a new set of inner fenderwell liners for the ack since the driver's side came loose and got chewed up last year.

Waiting for new set of StreetWirez RCA's since my new Pioneer has more RCA outputs than the old 1, once I get that, I can rip the interior out and start wiring up the new radio

That's some extensive stereo wiring work! I wish I had knowledge like yours!
I thought about doing that through the vacuum line, but I'm kinda chicken....
I probably could with what I have left though....I just need to wo(MAN) up LOL!

Secretly painted...ninja-style? LOL
I must ask for y'alls (yes, I do live in Texas) opinion and direction on something...
I have yet to wo(MAN) up with the SeaFoam since I want to locate the correct vacuum hose in order to properly introduce it. I did some looking at the maintenance manual and believe I've found the right hose. It's the one that goes from the air intake to the intake air bypass control valve that then feeds air to the engine. I took a picture, and I'm pointing to the line in question.
If this is a viable route, then how in the HELL to you pull that hose off without breaking something? LOL!!! I tried to remove it when I took the picture, but it's almost like it's glued on..

I was also conversing with Civicdrivr about the hose of choice... I'm thinking I'm gonna try the brake booster vacuum line but with a scrap piece of hose to suck out the SeaFoam with...

Pretty sure its the right hose that's attached to the pcv valve on the back center of your engine. Please search for the YouTube video on it. It shows step by step sea foam on the j30a1. You lightly slurp 1/3 of a can out of a paper cup with that hose. The engine will stumble each time you slurp a little so go slow! Also if you search sea foam on here I believe it will pop up.

LOL!!! I have a 3.2 L guys!
All of the youtube videos I found introduce it through the PCV line, although they do mention that the booster line is another method... I'll eventually decide which one I want to use....
Thank you AsianSpec for reminding me of that part! I'll probably do it on the driveway next to the street so that it'll be obvious where the smoke is coming from!

Not to burst your bubble But you know this is the first gen forums and not second gen. But what wonders me if your car is a second gen is that I thought the intake and the battery are on the right side of the car.

No need to stop posting in here, you just might get better j32 specific answers in the 2nd gen forum however. You're still welcome to post in here

Not to discourage you from posting. I just only said that if you have question specific towards a 2nd gen, their forums will be beneficial for you as they can probably answer questions better then we can. As for seafoaming, it's a general subject since it can be done on any car.

I did it last night by the way... The neighbors were walking their dog, and the woman had this shocked look on her face and said, "There's something really wrong with your car!"
I took a picture of the line I went through (the PCV vacuum line...although I'm certain no one really gives a f'), and what freaked me out is that my car started having an unsteady idle when I started it. Since I left the SeaFoam inside, I said to my car, "Oh sweetie...you're ok...hold on a second!!" while I ran inside. I do anthropomorphize everything.
At first, my car shuddered with each sip which made me feel kinda bad, but what's odd is that I think it kinda liked it near the end! LOL
I let my car sit for ~20 minutes then went back out to start it....I had my camera ready for the billows of smoke...there was nothing. I rev'd it...nothing. Then doubt creeps into my mind: WTF did my dumbass do?!?!
You must drive "aggressively" for a while, so I did it...and after I turned off my street and gunned it, there it was in all its glory, a massive cloud of white smoke!! I laughed so hard! WOO HOO! It kinda smells like those little black snake firecrackers.
Today, I do feel a difference; my car seems MUCH happier!

Congrats. It's natural for the car to start "choking" or idling very low when doing a seafoam. Just don't do it too much or you will see yourself replacing gaskets way sooner than you wanted to.

YAY!! I had no clue that they're white; I was thinking a primer color....
I bought a new battery since mine go out like clockwork every two years! I'm gonna put it in at lunch and take the old one back for the refund.
