Question for everyone, not necessarily Carloo: How easy are CF hoods to install?

Also will the hoods fit in our car if we come pick them up??

The hood should be very easy to install, it's an exact replica of your stock hood. It will be WAY easier with 2 people, one on each side, all you have to do is unbolt the stock hood, 4 bolts I believe, remove the stock hood, then pop the stock hood up there, This may require 3 people, just so that 2 can hold, and one can bolt. All you do is lay the new c/f hood over the arms and bolt it back the same way the stock hood sat. If you pop your hood and look, you'll see what bolts I'm talking about. After that, once it's bolted on, it'll close just like a stock hood, because it'll have the stock latch still.

The hoods are already being made Chris =) lol. Also, the hood WILL not fit in your guy's CL. It is way to big to fit. You can try measuring the dimensions of your stock hood and see if it will fit in the car, but I highly doubt it. The hood comes in a BIG box, the only way it will fit is if you take it out of the box. Thanks everyone =)

Tie it to the roof.

That's awesome the hoods are being made, what's the ship date again? Well, they'll be shipped to you first, so what's your arrival date? Then plus a few days would be ours I guess?

For the members thinking about picking it up...why dont you just take another friend with you, unbolt your OEM hood drive w/o a hood to pick up the CF, and install it when you pick it up. Dont try to fit it inside your car (it wont fit...the WW lip was hard enough to fit inside my car) If your going top pick up local, just drive w/o a hood and slap that bitch on once you get there...

Any reason to keep the OEM hood? Mine has a big dent in it anyway. I'll probably just trash it near Carloo's place.

I might have 5 extra hoods, the ones the dealers reserved if I have enough interest. I would rather give them to the members then the dealers.

That would be sweet, sledding down a hill on your stock hood. I'm keeping mine as a winter hood, but that would be a funny ass way to do in your old hood.

Winter hood!?! Is it bad to have a CF hood on in the winter time?? (i guess i'd be smart if you parked outside in the winter)

Nothing wrong with protecting your investments, I'm keeping my stock hood anyway, so there's nothing wrong with throwing on my stock hood when I put on my stock wheels for the winter. With the amount of snow and SALT around here, I would rather toss my old stock hood and wheels on, then risk ruining a couple grand worth of investments, call me crazy

And yes, I HATE thos scion commercials. "Ready to be customized" Hi i'm pablo, and I sell crack, and on the side, I like to "trick out" my scion. My scion's a big ugly box on wheels, and look, I riced it out, and made it more of a big ugly box esse.

So carlo, you never answered my question, what's the estimated arrival date to you, and the estimated ship date to us?

hood install is very simple indeed. just have a buddy of yours help you because the hood is quite big to unbolt and remove with just one person. it would be the easier thing to do.

I'm actually having mine shipped to a local bodyshop so they can throw mine on, rebolt/fix the bumper, and maybe install hoodpins if i decide to. (my friend says I'll probably have to because the CF hood is soo much lighter, on the HWY, air gets underneith it and pushes it up....

You don't think that the stock hood latch will hold this hood? It's only 20 or so pounds lighter?

Im not really sure, thats why im waiting to decide. (i'll probably end up putting it on, waiting a week to see, then decided on hoodpins.) My friends hood is a VIS also, but its a different car, so therefor a different designed hood, and I know he had problems with the hood "poping up" because of the airflow that got underneith while he was driving w/o hoodpins.

have you contacted them asking for a refund? have they replied? you should give them another week to reply. if they still hadnt replied, file a claim through paypal, and see if they can refund you your money.

Yes. File with a claim with paypal, they will refund you your money. It's one of the safest ways to pay, good luck and you have that spot saved.

Ok guys. I have about 5 spots left. These are all the hoods that have been paid for or will be paid for, the dealer spots are on reserve. I will open them up only if people want the spots! I would much rather give the hoods out to the members instead of my dealers.
