It'll stand out and look better on CL's that are not black. IMO
Nonetheless, I would still get a CF hood if the deadline was 1 month away but
unfortunately is not.

Katana's, Klepto, CL Platano, Shiney, agranado, silverCL97, EPS CL, and nippon_WA your CL's would look HOT with a CF hood so GET THAT!

errr...it will be close. I think there is close to 10 people right now. (I haven't committed to this yet) So *ballpark,* we need about 10 more + or - within 3 days....its gonna be close, but would be kickass if we could pull it off. 20 of us would have the same CF hood and no one else would have one. lol

They will look like a stock carbon fiber hood. It'll be molded the same as a c/f hood, but it'll look like carbon fiber. make sense?

It's going to be an exact copy of the OEM hood, so it will have the lines.

Shipping to 33187 will be $110 to that zipcode

There should be, if everyone signs up. Don't wait to see if there will be enough people and then join last minute. I'm pretty sure there will be. If you're interested just let me know so I can add you to the list.

Price has been dropped to $400 for the group buy. I'm trying to make this monday deadline...or the hoods will never be made! I hope this helps everyone out.

Okay everyone, let me explain to you the situation. There has been a change of plans, and I think everyone will take a liking to it. The original manufacturer of the hoods (carbon fiber 1) has decided not to do make the hoods for one main reason, they're losing money when making these hoods. Since the hoods are hand made and labor here in America cost more, they're actually losing money on this deal. From a business perspective, this is very understandable. So what we did is, we made a deal with VIS racing. I'm pretty sure all of you know who VIS racing is...Just to give you a little bit more information, VIS hoods are made in CHINA. Labor there is cheaper, and VIS says they can have the hoods made within 6-8 weeks from the day of production. Also, there is no longer any deadline on the hoods. The only deadline we're fighting against is the carbon fiber shortage, so far carbon fiber prices have risen every month or two by 5-10%. So the faster we complete this group buy, the lesser chance that prices will go up. If anyone else has questions or concernsn please let me know, and I'm sorry for the change of plans. But this deal is way better then the carbon fiber 1 deal.

The new price for the hood is:

$460

VIS charges more to make the hood, so we had to raise pricing. But thats about the regular price retail for a VIS hood, so it's a pretty good price for a hood thats never even been made.

If anyone has any questions please contact me. Thanks.

Exactly...*IF* I decide to go through with this, I need to know that it will be a AA grade CF hood. (I trust/assume with VIS it would be) BUT, will it have the washernozzle holes, shocks bolt up, and hood latch???

Also, Made in China means more shipping dosnt it!?! How much more???

Timeout:
On VIS website, each hood says, "Hood pins required...intended for off road use only"
I dont want hoodpins....are our hoods going to be custom with hood latches or are they just going to be like every other hood they make and use hoodpins??

$300 --> $450 --> $400 --> $460... these price changes are making me dizzy.

Anywayz I already paid the $450, if it goes through I'll give you the extra $10 when I pick it up.

To the dudes behind this deal --> I suggest you guys get the ppl here who want to pay upfront then put down your own cash to get however many hoods to get to 20. Then you can slang the extras after they are made for profit. Trust me, there will be a ton of peeps here that will want to buy the hoods if they see pics and they are as good as you say they are. It's just hard to get 20 peeps at once.

You can waive that extra rez charge if you just let them know you'll pick it up at the local hub place. FYI.

Yes..It will have the holes for the washer nozzles and holes so that your shocks can bolt right up! It is going to be high quality AA+ hoods, it will have rolled edges and it will be polyurethane coated! It's going to be made by one of the best hood manufacturers, which is VIS RACING!

Here's some pictures of a VIS hood on a civic hatch back.

VIS does that for legal purposes. The hoods all come with a metal latch, this latch is strong enough so hoodpins are not needed. They just suggest hoodpins for legal purposes. I have many friends who have VIS hoods with no hoodpins and they've never had any problems.

Yes you're right. It is hard to get 20 people at once. The deadline has been lifted for the customers on this forum, but it has not been lifted for me. So I'm going to be ordering the hoods by monday, and whoever wants a hood at this price will have to secure and reserve the hood by paying the $460. This is a group buy price and a one time only deal, so I suggest you jump on it. After this group buy, all hoods will be made to order at 5 at a time....so this would be the best time to buy, because I know carbon prices will be up by the time these hoods are done, so far VIS has done price hikes of 5% & 10% every month! The carbon fiber shortage is only getting worse and not any better.......If anyone is doing a local pick up, that is fine, they can pickup from our local warehouse in Whittier, CA.

If you have anymore questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact me. Thank You.

if you guys think about it, 460$ for a completely custom hood that isnt avail on the market is a damn good price. take an advantage on this opportunity, so you dont have to worry about gettin a cf hood later on down the road.

he's right, it's a great price. I'm here to make this group buy happen.. and it will happen! There are so many factors I need to do to make this group buy happen. First off, I need to buy a BRAND NEW CL hood for all the members on this forum straight from HONDA, the reason it has to be brand new is, because if its not brand new it won't be perfect fitment! And you all know how expensive brand new hoods are. With everyones cooperation and my help, we can get this group buy on the roll!
