Question:

Waxing:

When waxing CF hoods, 1.) can you use a buffer?
2.) Do you need to use any special kind of wax for CF?
3.) when we recieve our hoods, would it not be smart to wax them since they were just made?

 

So, are us 10 guaranteed a hood, and you're just freeing up more spaces, or do we have to wait for those 5 spaces to be filled? Just curious, thanks carlo.

 

No...again, no deadline so therefor, we get our hoods. The why I understand how this works: (correct me if im wrong) Theres 20 spots. Origionally we had to get all them filled. Then things changed, companys changed, and now theres no deadline. (so if your name is on that list and you've paid, you'll be recieving a hood) We've taken 10 spots and *dealers have taken the other 10 on reserve. Carlo would rather sell the hoods to us at a good price than to a dealer that will just jack up the price 25% and sell them later to other people. (Hes giving us the chance to fill up the spots and get first dibs on them, before the dealers take the rest of the spots.)

The way I understand it, we 10 are getting our hoods. The other 5 spots are still open to any members (which is incouraged for them to buy) before Carlo has to give those other 5 to a dealer. Hes giving us the first chance/dibs on the remainding 5 spots.

 

And all the hoods are in production right now. That's how I understand it anyway.

Both of you are correct. 10 hoods have been taken, theres 5 spots left for people on this forum. If anyone else want's a hood after the 5 spots have been filled, then the hood is all yours! If no one takes the hoods, they will be going to dealers who will resell the hoods at a much higher price. So you guys better take the hood! Because, there won't be any CL hood for awhile after this batch!

About waxing the hoods, you may wax the hoods but be sure to use a well known name brand wax and not the cheap wax type, and also use a soft cloth to wax the hoods, do not buff! The hoods come clear coated, so don't wax the hood like every week, maybe every 2-3 months.

anyone else want to pick up any hoods before the dealers take em?!

 

man i want one bad, but i dont have a job right now. i will probably get a job this week, but wont get paid till a few weeks. how long do you think you will wait till you give the hoods to the dealers?

i dont know about the paint scheme on the hood, but if you had an unpainted cf hood, i think itll look nice.

If I had a white cl I'd be all over this. If klepto had a cf hood/trunk he'd have the nicest cl. I would sell mine and quit.

HA! yea right. Yours is sick baka. But luckily im not a big fan of a carbon fiber hood or trunk on my car, soy ou wont have to "sell yours and quit" On another note, i met Dennis in person the other day and he said he just got off the phone with you. What a small world. He used to date this chick that lived on my street and his cousin lives just around the block from me!

You need to get a photoshop of a full unpainted CF hood. I think it'd look smooth. That painted CF hood photoshop looks ricey.

Soooo any new word on the progress of the hoods?? Didnt they start on like Mon. the 18th? Meaning they've been making them for 3 weeks now, meaning....we've still got like 5 more weeks???? awww crap...the suspense and waiting is killing me!! Just when im about to lower the car and get new rotors and everythings going to be looking good. . . . and I have to stare at this damn ugly busted up hood for 5 more weeks....crap crap crap...

just got back from NC and i have no idea whats going on. so whats new?

 

Hey man, whats up? Well basically the hoods are in the process of being made as we speak. The ETA for the hoods to be shipped out is in mid september, and I'm currently taking pre-orders. The people that i've listed are the ones who have already paid, and the hoods are basically on a first come first serve basis. I'm only getting 20 hoods, so once they're gone they're gone!
