June 20, 2009-July 14, 2009

-Took off the Ron Jons and put back on my stockies. I soon found out that two of the stockies were cracked and needed to be replaced.

July 15, 2009-October 24, 2009

-I found a set of 18 x 8.5 Gunmetal A-Specs on Craigslist for $500. I bought a set of Kuhmo Ecsta Platnium 245/40/18 tires and mounted them to the car.











October 25, 2009-February 5, 2010

-With the huge help of local member Jason (bobbylight83) I took that horrendous tint off of my headlights and blacked them out. I left the turn signal reflector silver for maximum light output from the 48-led switchbacks.

-I painted my front and rear calipers black. Using the DIY in the 3G Garage, I used a Dremel to get the junk off of the calipers and rotor hub. I then painted everything black using the Duplicolor kit I bought off of Amazon.com. Instead of using a rattle can, I opted to use a brush to apply the paint so I didn’t have to remove the parts from the car. I applied 4 coats to everything.

-I also painted my grill. I did the crossbar flat black and did the emblem gloss black. I painted the rear emblem black as well so both the front and rear emblems matched.
































February 6, 2010-February 13, 2010

-Local member Jacob (jaydm24) was parting out his 07 TL and we swapped suspension. He got my OEM suspension while I got his OEM suspension with TEIN S-Tech springs attached. I officially wasn’t a 4x4 anymore.

-Super Bowl Sunday I dropped by the grocery store to get some snacks that I would be taking to my girlfriend’s house. I come out of the store and see that somebody had bumped the front of my car and took off. The bumper was cracked and paint was chipping off. I had a brand new bumper painted and put on the car.















February 14, 2010-April 3, 2010

-Picked up the side and rear A-Spec pieces from Jacob’s 07 TL.

-My 8000k bulbs died so I put my stock 4300k bulbs back in.





April 4, 2010-April 21, 2010

-Removed the butt ugly gold pinstripe.

-I bought the front A-Spec lip from member Death Metal. With help of Jason (bobbylight83) I mounted it to the car.

-A set of wheel locks was added so my shit doesn’t get jacked.

-An 8GB iPod Nano was wired to the stock headunit via a GROM Audio iPod Adapter. My girlfriend got me both of those things for my 21st Birthday.

Thanks for reading the whole way through! I know my car started pretty rough but I'm really glad with the progress I've made in less than two years of ownership.

The A-Specs have some fading and peeling paint, but nothing terrible considering they are 6 years old.

Since I was buying random parts left and right when I first got the car and soon realized it was the wrong thing to do, I try to base purchases off of keeping a "theme" for my TL. Sounds goofy but it keeps me from buying shit that may sound cool but would look weird on the car.

I had a 12" Alpine Type-R in the back for a while so I didn't know mine was blown until I had the 12" taken out

I really appreciate the comment. It's taken me a while to undo the mistakes made early in my TL ownership but I'm really happy with what has been done since then

I was thinking about leaving the emblem chrome, or even painting it white, but I wanted the front and rear emblems to match. Now that I got new center caps with black As all around, they all match

That's how Jason is getting as well. I'm really impatient when it comes to shit on my car but it's nice to do things and then let them sink it before moving to the next thing.

UPDATE TIME!

Thanks to "Fulani has a TL" putting countless of hours of work helping me out, I added a set of blacked out 07-08 base tails to my car. They look so much better than my last set which were just NiteShaded and wet sanded.

Also thanks to Daniel I replaced my centercaps. My old ones were gunmetal with a chrome "A". The new ones are gunmetal with black As. Also the new ones are stamped in the centercap instead of being raised. Now all of the emblems on the exterior of my car are black

I would love darker tint, most likely 15% all around with 35% on the windshield, but I get pulled almost bi-weekly for bullshit and I don't want to give the cops around here to pull me. I already put on my license plate cover back on that I got pulled for a month ago. That's pushing it.

Btw the legal limit in NC is 32.0. My tint reads out 32.0 on the nose. Ballin!
