VWP, how hard to push?

My Acura service department has told me once (twice?) that all updates are OTA on the ZDX. Well I think we know that isn't true. I have the 25-044 service bulletin from June 14, 2025 printed. Is there anything else I should have? How much should I push to get this done if I don't have any problems with my car? Though operation numbers K16 and K107, as well as K56 seem like they would be good to have.

The only two OTA's I ever remember getting are the two back in March, 2025.

Without the VWP, you won't get future OTAs unless Acura/GM change their tune, which is unlikely since they just put out another TSB for VWP at the end of September.

So yeah, I'd push.

I had a few unable to charge errors despite the car charging, but seeing the error was still concerning, so I had my local dealer do the VWP.

There are three: 25-032 for telematics, 25-033 for infotainment (April 2024 security update), and 25-044 VWP.

IMO, all of them are must-have. Together, they changed ZDX from a filler to a would-be pillar in the Acura lineup. Just be aware that the infotainment update is probably on hold for now due to bricked devices. Better wait until swannyva gives us the all-clear before asking about the update.

Thanks, Sony.

According to:
https://acurazine.com/forums/zdx-326...etins-1006538/

There is no 25-032, but there is a 25-034 for "K73 Telematics Control Module Software Updates #1". Do I want the 25-034, or should I search for 25-032?

You got it right, should be 34.

they just put out another TSB for VWP at the end of September.

Do we have a service bulletin number and link for that one? Or is that the 25-044?

It's 044. Honda changed the same document from job aid to TSB.

Had a conversation with a service advisor today about the VWP. He said if you can't show any of the symptoms then you can't get it. He also claimed that is not a reason why I haven't had an OTA since March. Basically refused to do anything about it for me, unless I could show a problem.

Has anyone had an OTA update since March 29, 2025?

@billjay, I was in a similar situation. I showed them in the VPW that emergency braking was an issue when backing out of the driveway; it's the most common problem most people experience.

Bill, be mindful of my thread https://acurazine.com/forums/zdx-326...ouble-1011310/ which all started when I talked the dealer into performing the updates. The conversation between myself and the service advisor went something like this:
Me: Do the SB 25-033 updates (and others).
Him: What's the problem with the car?
Me: I want the performance enhancements for the audio unit, the improvement of the UI by adding virtual controls, etc.
Him: But what's wrong with the car?
Me: Okay, I'll make it easy for you. I'm having Sirius XM media source issues, HUD distortion issues, etc.
He then immediately wrote it up for the updates.
Five weeks later they fixed what they broke with the updates, and I got my car back!
Basically, I told them what they needed to hear to move forward, as their job is to only fix what's broken. My issue is with the many "improvements" in the SBs that will never be acquired unless there is something within the SB that is broken.
This technology really requires a robust over the air update program that I hope Honda America can get their arms around sooner than later!

The Mach E also failed my ease-of-entry test. I have a fused neck, so the larger door openings of the ZDX was good for me. But the wife doesn't like the ZDX. Sigh.

Honestly I think I'm just getting a bit of "grass is greener with another EV" at the moment. But I know the Mach-E (and the R1S, and the Lyric, and the Ioniq 5...) all have their own quirks and issues. Honestly, just give me plug-and-charge at Tesla and I'd be happy. They are supposedly working on it, but I'm not holding my breath. The other major charging networks are easy (EVgo is autocharge+, ChargePoint and Electrify America take credit cards and I have membership cards in my Apple Wallet). But the you-can-only-pay-through-the-app nature of Tesla just gripes me to no end.

I have a ZDX and a Mach-e in my garage. My wife drives the ZDX, and she does not like the drive of my Mach-e. It's a bit too sporty and stiff for her liking. The ZDX has such a great, comfortable ride, and that's without the air suspension!
