Aaron, you forgot that the group buy sells OEM kits and they come painted from the factory. I'd rather spend a couple hundred dollars more for better fitment and better paint match. You choose :P

Hi there I'm pretty new to the site and i just stumbled on this thread. I just got myself an 05 RL Black on Black. Had it about 3 weeks now, I grabbed it while I was in Calgary. I owned a Honda Accord before this and I liked the Accord but OMG I love the RL. Just thought I would say hi.
I'm far too anal about paint so I rather have pieces that can be factory painted remain that way. Not to say that the factory painted parts are going to be 100% matched with my paint, but I rather rely on OEM. I'm always hesitant to have anything repainted since I've seen so many botched jobs. Pearl/paint doesn't match spot on, poor prep work, dull looking clear coat (that can't be corrected via polishing), thin paint and a whole host of other issues. I had no choice when mine was involved in a hit and run but I made sure to do my research and find the right shop. I had to have a lengthy conversation with the person that took care of my car to really emphasize how particular I was.

I'd go with a TL-S 6 speed. When I was on the hunt, coming across 6 speeds wasn't the easiest thing. I wanted a very particular combo, KBP 6 speed but that is a unicorn around here. I finally came across a KBP and I took it. I don't regret it but would have loved to have a manual. Sure the auto has sport shift but it's lame.
I've had no issues with the auto tranny. I do a lot of preventative maintenance to keep it running smooth.

@Tai, might have been my did my brakes so was taking it for a test drive.
Got cross drilled slotted Stop Tech rotors with Stop Tech pads, so far bite is nice but dust is just as bad as the Brembo pads.

@ Tai - Hard to tell in the pictures but its harder to match white than other colors, looks good tho. May be easier to tell in person.

i didnt notice till the night after cause the car was all dirty and no sun was out when i picked it up, its actually not bad enough to annoy me so i'll live with it.

Haha but the problem is we were overpacked on gear and underpacked for food. I would have never imagined dehydrated food would taste so good after a full day of hiking lol.
Where did you and your friends go and for how long? I'll definitely be doing another trip this summer. I'll have to do more cardio in preparation though since last time I didn't train enough.

What Justin said. Just a ring terminal. Im sure I have a bunch at home that you can have. Simple strip of the wire and crimp on a new terminal.

It's handy to have a dedicated set of winter wheels with the tires mounted. That way you can change it whenever you feel like it and not have to wait for an opening. The initial cost is more but if you end up keeping your car a few years it pays for itself. It's tiring for me though since I have to change out 3 cars and soon to be 4 twice a year.

@Vince - I didnt have time or any idea on what rims to get so i just put summers on my stock wheels until i can decide. Im looking through some classified and found a couple of used rims.

IMO, 17s are too small on a 2nd Gen and will look kinda funny if you're not lowered. Also you might rub a tad with beefy 255s, 9 width and 35 offset. But them being 17s you might not.

Keep in mind too that the kit doesn't include hardware. I think Myron's buddy had a hard time finding the brackets for the front bumper.
