@edmua6 - Well, my car is pretty stock right now, I got a few things I gotta fix on it.....

The brakes need to be done, hopefully in the next little while I can do that, thats more of something that NEEDS to be done

but I would like to replace my deck (probably with another stock deck), my cd player is jammed and no one knows how to get it un-jammed, so I think it just needs to be replaced.

I got a custom ipod mount, and i got it wired in to my deck so i'm alright without the cd player for now

I want to put in some illuminated door sills

black out the tail lights

upgrade my rims, that will be next summer tho

upgrade the sound system, probably will just be adding a sub and amp and maybe a custom box for the trunk

get some clear head lights

re-tint my front window because the tint is all scratched up

paint my grill all back except for the acura logo (if you know a spot that will do it for cheap, that would be awesome)

change up the interior lighting in the car

thats all i can think of for now, its all pretty minor tweaks, i already love how the TL looks even when its stock

@iChinese - I ordered this black tint off ebay, its this sticker that you put on basically, I got it for all my lights...but I dont know if I want to do it for my headlights, I would rather just have some clear headlights instead.

I was thinking about spraying it, but I dont know if I should do that cuz it would be permanent

ohhh nice can't wait till you put it on! and remember post some pics . yeah you shouldn't spray it, cause after a while you would get bored of it. right now i have tinted blackout tail and side markers, and i got bored of it and im planning it take it off.

@Myron - Yeah like Ricky said I think you are better off just trying to sell the TL instead of trading for a s2k. At least with the TL you can properly drive it in the winter. I'd imagine a s2k would be fun to drive in the summer though. If only I had the money..

@diesel - If you're changing out your deck, why not upgrade to a navigation system while you're at it? Install a backup reverse camera too and that will really set it off

There is a groupbuy from supercomputers going on the illuminated doorsills. I think it's something like $220 shipped to Canada.

For the grill, why not try wrapping it in vinyl or use plasti-dip? They are cheaper alternatives and last longer. They won't chip as badly and can be replaced easier.
Interior lighting is definitely a nice touch. All quite simple to do except the vanity lights which were a complete pita for me. A relatively cheap mod as well since I grabbed all of mine off of ebay.

Instead of upgrading wheels, why not use that money towards a full a-spec kit or drop the car? I think a drop makes such a significant impact on the overall look of the car compared to wheels. I really want to lower my car but mehhh.

Another subtle little tweak to the car is doing the key hole delete on the driver's side door handle. Buy a replacement part meant for one of the other doors and take the old one out. It will eliminate the use of the keyhole but makes it look cleaner. If your battery ever dies for your key, it can be easily popped off to expose the keyhole.

@v|nsan|ty - I was thinking of putting in an aftermarket deck, but theres no kit to install it, I dont know how much a place would charge to make a custom kit to mount an aftermarket deck either, I kinda wish I just got a car with navigation instead, but too late for that now.

I never heard of plasti-dip but I'll check that out for sure, I got quoted 200 bucks to paint my grill black, I would do it myself but I've never painted anything so I dont want to screw it up. Is the plasti-dip easy to do yourself??

The keyhole delete sounds pretty sweet too, I'm gonna look into that as well, I almost never use the keyhole anyway, and getting rid of it would make it look pretty slick.

And I thought about dropping my car or putting a kit on it, but this is my winter car too, last winter I was driving a dropped civic and it was brutal, I got stuck so many times, always right in front of my house too because the snow clearing was pretty bad, in my neighborhood anyway. Hopefully I dont have to go through that again this winter.

And thanks for the heads up on supercomputers, I sent him a message, hopefully I can get those door sillls soon.

@iChinese - I don't think it is. I drive by it a lot and usually see cars parked out front. Plus their website is still up and running. If you have no luck there, you could always try Garage Works. They did a good job on my driver and passenger side windows.

@diesel - Some members have converted their non-navi to navi. From the looks of it, it was by no means an easy install and isn't cheap. Here are some links I found:

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/im-soo-excited-just-completed-my-non-navi-navi-conversion-diy-included-747456/

https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/i-142-yet-another-non-navi-navi-conversion-success-story-640304/

I haven't personally worked with plasti-dip but there are several threads out there documenting its usage. Myron did his front grill in plasti-dip. Vinyl is another alternative as I'll be heading that route once I order some from a vendor.

Haha that's why you get coilovers instead, lower during winter and raise it back up during summer. Problem is coilovers are like double the cost I imagine the lip kit wouldn't be a big issue during the winter. It bolts onto the existing body parts and gives the appearance of a more aggressive, lower car. I think some people measured how much lower it actually is, something like an inch. I only got stuck once this past winter during the massive snow dump. My car was left outside on the street and I needed a bunch of people to help push me out.

@jbond - Yeah I'm hoping the strike ends soon. I have some stuff I want to order but I'll wait until I hear some better news.

Except, coils can be rased, true, but they don't go to the stock height of the car. ISo when you raise them all the way up, your car is still gonan be lower than stock, over an inch maybe.

AND, coils aren't as expensive as they once were. I paid 600$+shipping for my spring/shock combo when the cheapest coils were 1200$. And now you can get brand new coils for 600$+80$ shipping, and the springs and shocks didn't get much cheaper.

but in the end, coils is still the way to go.

^^ ichinese, they just moved into the next store which used to be "The Shop". i think its a new car audio store or something that moved into their old spot

jbond. i dont think canadapost should have anything to do with your front lip being shipped up from acktl. when i got my kit from him, it was shipped up via fedex unless he's using usps which then gets sent to canadapost.

On my back window around the defrosters they left a .5cm gap which day light came out clear as day, when I complained about it, they used black electrical tape to cover it up, pure bullshit.

This was on my pathfinder just over a year ago

I never had a bad experience with them. They did my tint great, even the little windown there on the door that's a bitch to do properly, they did it perfectly. Mole skin did come off in the corner 6 months later but they fixed it right there in front of me and for 2 years now I didn't have a problem. Weird that you Sanjay had a problem with them. I know 5 people that went there and 2-3 years later the tint is fine.

Yeah it was quite dissapointing, I went there because my dad got his Tahoe and his Acura RL done and they both looked mint, mine looked like shit.

changing gears, i installed my LED drls and switchbacks, looks wicked, dont have the resistor yet, so the flashing is all over the place, some times its normal, some times is medium, sometimes its having a seziure.

@Myron - Lol wow I'm really out of the loop. I didn't realize coilovers dropped in price that much. But then for me if I were to get them, I'd have to shell out another couple hundred for the install. I don't see that happening any time soon.

@Arthur - Sorry to say but there is forecast to be 5-10mm of rain from Wednesday overnight to Thursday overnight. After that it should be good for a few days. My car has been brown and blue for the past few days thanks to all this non-stop rain.

@Sanjay - Lights look really good. I should get going on my install lol. The lights are in my room sitting to next to my dead pedal I ordered months ago.

Thanks dude, I also removed the intake resonator, so now its just airbox and no piping, so essentially a short ram facing forwards for water to get right in, im not cool with that, its not that loud either, you can barely hear it over the tires in the first video (much louder in person) so I'll probably get an injen short ram soon here. Yes I almost forgot to shift in the in car video and shifted too late into second so it bounced off the revs in first lol
