Well, he does live in Rowlett. So I can most likely come get you.

Hes very old friend of mine I used to work with at Raytheon. Him and I go way back, he works for L3 in Afghanistan. So I dont get to see him much.

He was at pint night last night showing me his new 08 Viper he bought. He still has his 03 and is trying to sell it so we were thinking about just driving both to that meet and putting a for sale sign on his 03.

Im still debating whether or not I want to do this.....a viper may be a bit much for me....ill keep you posted.

As cool as that would be, I need to get re-adjusted to a manual in another car first; it's been a while & the last thing I want to do is abuse the Elise in any way. Just a personal preference & out of respect for your toy.

The Viper alone would be awesome enough, but that's completely up to you & your friend.

I'd love to stop by, but I'd kinda feel like an idiot since my car isn't all fancy or anything. It's all stock...besides my 2 ton jack instead of that "concraption" jack. Tomorrow, I'm going to my parent's house in McKinney to replace my ballasts and bulbs since one blew about a week ago. They have a garage unlike me, plus my dad will be there to help.

Then I'll have Morimoto 35W's and 5,000 Kelvin bulbs....LOL....

Don't worry about it... Judy or Joanne or something along those lines did her best to make me feel at home there. She's VERY nice!

I should've put two and two together..."shop" and "razor"...that's not a car-related shop LOL!!!

Any of you taken your 07-08TL in for a recall recently? I did....

OK So I dropped the car off to vandergriff acura at 2:00 on Friday. All friday I get no phone call (I think service dept closes at 5 or 6).

All saturday I still get no phone call.

Still in the loaner 12' base TL w/ navi (WDP). Looks like I won't be able to hear from them again until Monday. Isn't this a less than 2 hour job?

It's a lot longer than a 2 hour job. I have an appointment at McDavid at 8:45 a.m., & they told me I probably won't get the car back til' around mid-afternoon.
But, I'll have my buddies there to give me some updates whilst in the shop to know what the status is.

Surprised it's taking that long though.

Keep in mind it might be less time than you think but it actually might be longer in real life. If the high press line is anything like the es330 we work on your lookin at a 3-4hour job. Also you have to realize how loaded the tech is and how busy they are. Sometimes I have 4-5 cars stacked when I am at work already working on a certain vehicle. It gets crazy and it wont all get done at the same time.

Hey guys, I believe I forgot to properly introduce myself! About 2 months ago I got a 06 TL WDP @ 71,700. It is currently sitting at 74,300 haha, such a fun car to drive!

I was wondering which mechanic at McDavid you guys recommend? I want my pressure switches done as a preventive maintenance and have a 3x3 ATF drain/refill at the same time.
I spoke to Tony I believe the first time around to get a quote.

I live in Rockwall/Rowlett area, i've seen a few tls pass by, one type-s so far in the area.

Anyone live around here by chance?
I'll soon also be getting my Aspec kit, and installing oem honda fogs!

Tony's not a bad guy. I usually ask to have Alan or Daniel work on my car up there.

I'm in Rowlett by the hospital.

I wouldn't worry about it. When I saw it, it was already on the lift. I saw the "acurazine" badge on it and figured it was a member's car.

Viet, it may be taking so long due to shipping issues. My car won't be done til' tomorrow afternoon because the shipments did not come in this morning as expected.

Appreciate the tip, will ask for either one when I'm up there next time. Still gotta order the switches from Bruce

Rick: Have any pictures of your car by chance? Maybe i've seen you around. Know any fellow AZ users in the area as well?

None currently on this hard drive since the reformat. It's just a Carbon Bronze Type-S though with ATLP Quads & a CCM sticker on the rear.

Silver Bullet, iirc, lives off Miller and has a clean, silver base 6MT w/ A-Spec kit & wheels. Hard car to miss.

I did see a silver or white Type-S on 66 one night with fogs and I believe yellow fog overlay. Couldn't recognize anything in particular since it was at like 11 at night ha.

I know I saw a NBP TL /w Aspec and black painted stock rims on Miller one day.

Nice! Yeah that was mine. 08 with a-spec lip kit, gloss black vinyled front and rear silver trim, lowered on ht-spec type1s. Also had a CCM sticker on the rear windshield on the driver side top left corner.

Finally got my car back at 2PM today. Made sure they didn't wash the car. Had a 2012 base with tech package. Really liked the yellow lines on the back-up camera. Car was smooth but didn't feel much stronger than my base TL AT with v3 pcd, v3 j-pipe, and CAI installed. That car easily chirps tires in first under light throttle... I hardly chirp tires in my 08, but than I don't really remember the last time I floored it below 20mph.

I had the loaner since Friday. Before I returned the car I filled it up with gas. I put in exactly $40 of 93 octane. Just under 12 gallons worth of fuel. Filled it up past the "F" mark. I love the steering feel in the 12' TL.... it was so soft and easily to steer at low speeds, but once you increase speeds or are driving on the highway the steering is a lot tighter and you can really feel it and notice it...

After getting my TL back after having the recall done I notice the steering feel while driving at slow speeds (below 20 mph) is a lot stiffer and harder to turn than before. The steering feel at highway speeds in the 12' TL felt a lot better compared to my 08 TL before and after having the recall done.

I thought the 3rd gen TL had speed sensitive power steering? If it does, it's definitely a lot better on the 12' TL... The steering on it is so light and easy to turn at less than 10mph.... past 25mph you can feel it tighten up and get slightly firmer. Past 40 it gives you a nice confident feeling in steering...

They also recommended me to replace my timing belt tensioner for $380 parts, labor, tax included... I said no thanks. He said it was causing a squealing sound. I never noticed, however I do notice when I make a left turn at slow speeds under 10mph i get a odd creek, crackle sound coming from the front. I think its my CV joint / half shaft... It does it often when making left turns below 10mph and not so often on right turns at the same speed.. Does that sound like a cv joint? People say it's supposed to make a "click click click" sound but I don't know if what I'm hearing is a "click" sound...

I got my lower control arm bushings (aka: compliance bushings) and ball joints installed last week. I think I'm done now with the front bushing and wear parts. Remember I did my half-shafts and upper control arm knuckles a few weeks prior.

Now I've noticed my front slotted rotors are wearing to the point that the slots are disappearing, more on the pax side. I also notice that my ceramic pads are not gripping as well because the rotor surfaces are looking glazed like they need turned to get a good gripping surface back. Rather than turning them I've ordered a front and rear set of cross drilled/slotted rotors. Should be in within a week or so.

Then...I think I'm done with my maintenance mods.
