That is where my next vacation is going to be... Been traveling there since 1990 when it was a tiny hidden away vacation spot...

PM me if you need any tips or recommendations....

I prefer this idea. I'm not going to drive into that area both days honestly.

Well the quest has began for me to drive stick. My friend got a Pontiac GTO 6spd and I just got back from 30 minutes of driving it...only stalled once and had 2 really clean shifts. Only went up to 3rd though. Excited to learn more!

Well . . . I will be going to Cars & Coffee this coming Saturday and it will be the last time with all sorts of OEM stuff and repairs being made starting later that day. I expect to be out of commision for a week or maybe more if I run into some problems or find I need additional parts. Here's what I'll be doing.

SP Performance Rotors & Hawk HPS pads
Tokico Illumina struts
Replace both axles
Rear main seal
Timing belt . . and everything else that goes along with that
. . . and if not at the same time (or soon after)
NGK Iridium X plugs
Finish custom exhaust
Revamp Ram-Air and Intake

Sorry, for whatever reason, the forum does not allow me to send/receive PMs or look at peoples profiles... I guess my infamous reputation over on the boner forum spilleth over.. LOL

For cozumel, i would recommend the following things:

Restaurants:

Pepe's Bar & Grill - best restaurant on the island IMO $$$

Lobster Joes - off of the downtown square so they don't nail you as bad.

Ernestos Fajita Factory (If it is still in business)

Tony Rome's - always gets great reviews, I have never eaten there

Bars:

Senor Frogs - man that was a blast

Carlos n Charlies - I have not patronized the new location

Paradise Bar and Grill - you'll have to rent a moped to the south tip of the island, but this is worth it 100%. I do not recommend swimming there, the undertow is bad bad. Get a Sol beer, a hammock and listen to the waves crash as u listen to reggae. Take a sharpie marker to graffiti the walls...

Activities:

Scuba Diving: If you are certified, Dive with Martin' is THE BEST operator on the island. I saw more on my last 6 dives with him than I had in the previous 20 with Del Mar Aquatics, and I have been traveling scuba dive in CZ since 1990.

Snorkeling: Rent or take some snorkling gear and go to Casa Del Mar hotel. Across the street from there is a sunken airplane u can snorkle over. It's been featured in a few famous movies... Due to Hurrican damage over the years it is not as intact as it was in 1990.

There is a submarine ride thats right across from the Casa Del Mar also, but i have no clue as to the cost or the depth....

Rent a moped and go all the way around the island. It's a blast, but don't do it at night....

This is what I have so far... But there are a few places i was already too hammered to remember the names...

Thanks for the info Phantom. This will be very useful. Now I hope that it doesn't rain over there. Right now the weather report is stating that it will rain on Thursday - Saturday. As we get closer to next week, I hope that it doesn't end of being the case.

aaaaaaaah nooooooo .

Number 1 son got into another wreck in his Prelude . . . this time it was mostly his fault. He was trying to turn left in to a parking lot during rush hour traffic . . 2 lanes were backed up and the cars were letting him thru, but some guy came flying down the right turn only lane and nailed the front end.

Now on top of all the work that I need to do on the cars I get to rebuild the front end. I didn't need this . . . no one does, but it couldn't have come at a worse time with no job and funds are dwindling. :shakehead

I remember my first accident, it wasn't my fault. Asian lady hit me in the school parking lot. It was awful.

i'll be at c&c this morning. probably by 9am.

my brother is in town from denver and i'll bring him, he has never seen a collection of cars like c&c.

I finally got my dent repaired and had my wheels reconditioned. i had them color the rims gun metal, more like the original color. they definitely did a good job and the rims look almost chrome.

i should make more events now that my car is fixed. i was embarressed by the dent so i laid low until i could get rid of it. no need to let y'all see a dinged up beauty.

Dude! my #2 son had a wreck a few weeks ago on 190 with his 97 CL. He somehow had to swerve to avoid a stopped car (not too sure of that excuse) and he lost control, spun into the side of an F-150, hit the concrete barrier and ended up sideways but facing oncoming traffic. Then 2 motorcycles came up from behind and one clipped the front end of my son's car and flung him across the road while the other bike avoided hitting the car but ran over his buddy and that threw him off his bike. one biker had a broken back and the other guy had a compound fracture of the leg..along with road rash.

the F-150 had minimal damage and has already been taken care of. the biker dudes are "lawyering up". my son is out of a car now.

Best of luck to your son, SB.

Depending on if they were wearing helmets & riding gear, bikers seem to catch a lot of sympathy in Dallas when they have accidents.

Boy, that REALLY sucks. I'll be crossing my fingers for the best.

I made it to C&C around 8:30 and stayed to about 10:30. I say Silver and Rick drive by, but never saw anyone walking around . . . but not surprising as it was really packed . . the most cars since I started going there.
