There were people there who do not belong at these meets. They were rude & inconsiderate of other enthusiasts. CCM usually brings together a higher class of cars & people imo, but many folks were bringing in rice left & right and I believe these were the owners who had no respect for others b/c I have had conversations with the owners who owned the more complete/put-together cars (350Zs, Subbies, Evos, stanced cars, etc.) & these folks were not the ones I had the troubles with.
The part about safety and the people getting pulled over, you can't say it was CCMs fault. There's always gonna be some numb nut who thinks he's cool or tries to show off by burning out (like the white mustang) or racing out the lot. You can make rules all you want, but there's always gonna be someone breaking it.
I did NOT say that was CCM's fault. I already addressed this to Tiffany & told her I can not hold her responsible for others' lack of manners. Regardless, it left a sour taste in my mouth after attending other CCM meets where this was never an issue. I chalked it up to the way car enthusiasts act in comparison to Dallas attendees.

I told Tiffany it was the first time I have ever seen a car pulled over next to the meet, let alone 4 of them at one time. It gave me a rather poor impression of how car enthusiasts act down in the south & Tiff already told me they were aware of it, unfortunately.
I do agree about the drifting part. It was entertaining to watch, but at the same time I kept on constantly thinking "what if someone loses control and slams into the crowd?" There wasn't anything for the crowd to stand behind, and people were literally 15-20 feet away from the cars as they were drifting.

All in all, I believe it was a good turn out. Police were probably supposed to be out there to make sure nothing gets out of hand, and if it did, they would be able to respond asap.
The drifting was my absolute biggest concern. It was not the drifters I was worried about, but the lack of common sense & desire to get close to the cars. But again, I believe that is the fault of the people, not the meet.

I told Tiffany I enjoyed the meet overall & that the positives did outweigh the negatives. However, the rudeness & the lack of safety shown by the attendees was a first for me personally, & that it was what left me disappointed. Tiffany, Ty, & everyone else on staff did everything to the levels I believed they would.

What really pissed me off were the comments people were making when I was driving out with my daughter. Turned me off enough that Ill never make one again.
E., I know you were not overall happy with the show, but you never told me about any comments people were making towards you.

Please let me know so I can pass this along in the future to the staff. I know Tiff. would love to have you bring the Lotus out again if she can make your attendance an easier one.

I agree with this Rick. Although I have decided I really won't be going to any more CCM's, there are just too many things that turn me off about it. It's shame because the positives DO out weigh the negatives, but overall a waste of time. Last CCM I walked back to find 3-4 NOS cans under my car, that did it for me...and seeing rusted civics with cut springs and steel rims...besides the quality cars there I usually see at other respectable meets.

Trash was an issue at this meet as well, but it goes with what I said above. I'm a bit surprised you guys didn't share this with me earlier, but your decisions not to attend anymore are your decisions, so I won't question them.

I noticed that personally, I may need to just hang up the camera when attending meets with people (Nelson being the exception ). I have a much better time not worrying about getting good shots & relax more with friends, which is probably why I enjoyed the State Fair meet in honesty. When I go alone though, I can easily take all the time I want & can deal with crowds better alone without worrying about holding anyone up. I can also make the decision to attend these things much, much earlier so said people aren't in my way.

With that being said, E., you & I need to get together here soon. I'm itching to do a small photoshoot & I think your camera could really pull off some of the shots I'm thinking about.

Get a 2010 or 2006. 2007 - 2009 had too many problems with stock tuning and supposedly a lot of people have lost motors. Some people even had to have Subaru buy back their cars.

Hopefully you guys can make it out to my show next year. It may have been really small this 1st year, but we had some great cars show up.

Why dont we do this while the cities down south have there tri state meeting or whatever we will just have our dallas/fort worth/rockwall people all come out. Fair enough right? We got plenty of acuras here and more to be found that pop out of nowhere.

I was feeling a bit down, but nothing like a little fun embarrassing a Hemi Challenger RT. Haven't done that recently, but it's nice to know you don't have to take that Hemi in your face attitude some of those guys give you.

Anyone in the area play video (DVD or iPhone) through their navi? I've been searching around, but have been going around in circles. Thanks, I appreciate any input.

I dunno but I think there is a DIY on this forum...You basically tap into the sportshift circuit and obviously your illumination probably into the dimmer switch of some sort. At least that would be my thought.
