Got tagged by a Carrollton motor jock doing 86mph in a 70 on 190 heading out to the airport. V1 picked him up from behind and I couldn't see him anywhere until I hit the overpass on 35E. I pulled over and when he asked for my DL and insurance, my wife leaned over with her police badge and said " don't know if you care but I'm with the Rowlett PD." The officer asked why we were in a hurry and we told him we were heading out to the airport to leave town. He politely gave me a verbal warning to slow it down and sent us on our way...without a ticket. I high five'd Janet as we took off and said "nice!".

Just running an idea that popped into my head this afternoon. Suggestions on me trading my TL for one that is 6MT. That's the only thing I would change on my car. I would probably look for one with NAV at the time too. This is just an idea, haven't even really looked into it at all.

not a bad swap. if you can get a type s manual that would make the deal even sweeter but a manual navi is a nice start as always. Just gotta get used to that left foot.

A Type-S 6spd isn't easy to find in decent condition for a good price. The demand for them is still high, & I doubt Shawn's TL will be anywhere enough to trade in on a 6spd S without a bit of cash to back it up.

I've given this thought as well, but if the only reason I want it is for the gearbox & it being faster, I'll cut my losses & pick up one of the other cars I've been looking; cheaper & much faster.

Type-s is definitely out of question. I would put about 2 grand on top of what my car sold for. I wanted to pull it up in my garage, swap all the after market parts from mine to the new one, and sell my old one as stock. I was going to possibly consider a WDP this time though.
