Sway bar mount broke off subframe

Anyone know of a shop in NE Tarrant who can fab a new mount and weld to the subframe?

I had the mount literally break the spot welds and separate from the subframe and need to figure out how to resolve without resorting to replacing the subframe.
At almost 2K to replace the subframe that will mean offloading the TL and getting a new car.
Would like to get this fixed ASAP.
Thanks all

Peter How did you manage to do that? Had you replaced the mounts before or still your originals?

If its similar take it to Kens Muffflers here at Love Field. Hes off NW Highway. Hes done all my exhaust work and he fixed that sway bar issue for me for like 50 bucks.

Talk to Gary. He probably wont remember me by name, just tell him the guy with gray Acura told me to come see you.

Will look into it. Since it actually broke the mount, it will need to get fabbed and rewelded.

They are the mounts welded to the subframe-they were original. I think the 24mm RSB was more stress than the mount wanted after having it on for 5 or 6 (or 8) years.
The endlinks look fine it is the mount the bushings attach to that broke in half on the passenger side.

The funny part is that since it is a welded part I would have to replace the subfram to the tune of ~$2000 to go OEM replacement.

Thanks if it just broke the welds I would think this could work, as it is I am looking for the fab/weld.

Mine actually broke such that the 2 bolts holding the bushings on are still attached as are the welds to the subframe. Almost like the mount "tore" in half between the two parts.
So yours is "torn" aboput half of mine. Mine separated completely.

New Guy!

I guess this is my introductory post. Just picked up my '04 NBP TL on Thursday, and have been reading through the site for a few days. Native Texan, but have been in other Honda's/Acuras/Lexus before getting my TL. Look foward to learning more!

No definitely keeping the Acura. Just getting this as a side project since we all have some fair amount of knowledge in cars and want something to do over the summer. A friends dad owns a storage place and was willing to let us use one of his empty garages. Everyone wants an import, that's forsure. Now which one? We don't know. Looking for the most potential and also easy to work on. Maybe a S14 240? Maybe those datsun 240z's? (those old hatch looking ones) I'm not sure. It just has to be stick lol.

Miata. Cheap, and an amazing beginner car for the track. Soon as my buddy buys his Scion, he'll be selling me his Miata for a couple grand.

And I will be there lol. Gave manager some BS story to get off.

Little BMW 3 series are okay but I dont like how expensive they are to fix even though the older 3 series are cheaper. There is a lot out there but it all falls down to budget and what you want to use it for.

The MR2 will be good. However, it'll take longer to start being consistent with it on the track. Be a good car to learn the MR platform.

You know of any junk yards or anything we can find one at? I'm looking at craigslist for some too.

MR2 isnt too bad...they are however a bitch to work on. But if your looking for one I recommend finding a turbo one. Usually I would not look for one in a junkyard...might have some luck with craigslist. Engine work on that motor is not the most fun because of its placement.

Short story": MR2 - engine easy to work on, engine bitch to get too

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't MR2s have a nasty habit sometimes of not being able to turn over? I spoke to an owner tonight who said to find a mint car & make sure the engine hadn't been run hard; his apparently had starter issues when he bought it.

Not that I have seen...but to find one in mint condition you will definitely be paying more than a miata. They sometimes have a hard start in colder weather...my friends old turbo had that but for the most part it started up fine.
