New to this site..berly found this section today lol..
But I'm a fairly new owner to 08 tl.had it maybe almost a month.
Not from austin but I'm bout an hr away.
First tl.was mostly into civics/integras.but got out of that about 2 or 3 years ago.
Maybe id like to attend some of the meets around..meet sme new people.
I haven't taken many pics of it..but its all stock..probly stay like that for a while..
Gonna get a another vehicle for a spare..need a auto for wifey to drive
She can't drive manual..
First plan on set of good or decent tires..if not new set or wheels/tires.
Wish I could do suspension first..but who knows..

So...I didn't necessarily get screwed. I got a good deal on the car and it is in great shape. However...after I was driving it back to Austin I flipped on the lights and one of the HID bulbs was out. Additionally, the wife tells me the next day that there's no wiper fluid in the car. I go to fill it up and it dumps right onto my foot.

Some of you might be ahead of me at this point, but for those that are not, the access point for the headlight is at the wheel well, which is right next to the windshield wiper pump. So whoever tried to replace the bulb burned up the ignitor, quickly tried to put everything back together and knocked the wiper pump off.

Dealer is simply saying that both defects are some kind of crazy occurrence that happened as soon as I drove off the lot. My mechanic says there is absolutely no way the bulb ignitor damage happened during me owning the vehicle unless I tried to change it myself (which I did not).

 

ballast/ignitor and res are fairly cheap. The real issue.. it was probably in an accident.

 

probably just a half-assed attempt to change a burnt bulb.

i swear some of the "ASE Certified" techs that they have working at dealerships are complete goons, especially the independent places.

 

So does anyone here in the Austin area have a navi hack disk? I'd love to get a 3.7 hack disk, but anything newer than that I could upgrade to as well and would be willing to compensate you for it.

You should've came! It didn't cancel. Meet was still legit.

 

I stopped by yesterday from around 12:00 - 12:30, but there was only a few guys there. I had brought my little 4 yr old and she was getting restless so we didn't stay long. I didn't see any A-zine folks, just a couple of auto cross guys and a couple of other random cars.

 

Damn we must've just missed each other. Our cruise didn't arrive until 12:45pm. Damn traffic coming from SA stalled us. Meet really didn't build up until late. Turn out kinda sucked this month because everyone was too hungover to show lol. Oh well. Next time! lol
